Welcome to the forums, best way to thank the community is to provide info on your own loots etc =).
Textures are separate from colors, you can apply a color over a texture, this is often used as a cheaper way to get dark colors.

That one they had a very good reason behind fixing, they were spawning very close, and sometimes inside, the turret area.
As said during the IFN vu this will play a important role later on, that content is not ready yet.
Thats also a good way to knock someone out.
