As Ozi wrote before... you will be able to use all kind of gear you could use on Calypso right now. Both planets are set in about the same...
You can try to step in a teleporter right now. You will see some dropdown list which should say calypso right now I think... just click on that...
From how I read the newsletter from Cyrus I think that he will be arround at launch day. I mean ok the see you on Arkadia could be just a phrase...

I think you don't have to worry about that.... but if it really bugs you so much there is a quite simple solution. Buy tons of the TT equiptment...
