█ Nusul █ Description: While the Nusul looks cute enough to play with, new colonists are advised to approach it with preparation and caution. Despite its friendly looking nose, it can be somewhat aggressive when provoked, doing damage when it throws its full weight in the direction of its attacker. Nevertheless, a herd of Nusul can be a great place to get some early hunting training and collect some of its hide. Update for Nusul finished (for now ). Information posted has been verified in-game. Should anything be wrong/missing: see above post. One down, many to go... ______________ Didn't notice that full picture attachments don't show if you're not logged in (it gives an error). So re-uploaded them from from a hosting site. They should show for everyone now.
You can use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out on the animal/item info screens to see the entire thing. That way you don't show just legs.
Weirdly enough: that's zoomed in to the max. I have this problem with all two-legged mobs: I can't get their whole body to show. For everything else this function works as it's supposed to. It's just the bipeds who are uncooperative. I've tried all the settings, turned them around, re-logged, and even asked them very nicely. But they refuse to show me more than their legs.
Hehe, I don't think they're shy: it's probably more to do with my photographic skills. E.g. I tried another biped, and scanned all the various Oratan, to see if maturity somehow made a difference. But when I told them: "Show us yer pretty face." it just resulted in me getting beat up. So yeah thank you, it would be great if you could get some full body shots. :biggrin2:
I just bought a scanner and scanned a Carabok and Gallard with no problem. But a (L8) Hadraada only shows 4 legs and the tip of the tail, so it's possible that this has nothing to do with our set-up and more to do with MA's settings. I will try some other creatures, like the Nusul, just to check. ... Same with Nusul. I can hold the mouse wheel to change the camera angle of the scan image but not zoom out enough to get full body. Shame on me to assume it would work!
Ah well, seems I did some assuming too. The Gallard is indeed showing completely, so there goes the idea that it only affects the two legged creatures. Though perhaps the size matters also. It's just a cosmetic thing, so I guess we're stuck with the legs. Maybe I'll add a separate picture for the decapitated mobs. But at least it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who can't get a full body shot. Thanks for trying it out.
I also think that the center point of the animal matters too. When I was changing the angle of the Nusul and Oro the center point seemed to have been near the feet and not belly height. It was impossible to get a face picture. I could only get a "clean" shot from underneath - as if that helps. Do you still want the scans? I can continue if you need the information.
Haha yeah, those low angle 'bottom' shots look kinda weird: like you're trying to look under their non existing skirts. Thank you very much for the offer, but I think I'll just 'solve' it by adding some separate pictures, to show full body shots of the affected mobs. (I'm trying to be less nit-picky. ) And scanning the maturities for the stats is done while double checking the locations and loot anyway. So in the end it's no extra effort.
