Let me introduce myself for the 4th time! May 15th, 3000-and-something Oh no, not again… So, I recently got released from the psych ward, made a new account, yes AGAIN, I’m not going to explain myself on that because I already had to to all my friends. AGAIN. I went with similar looks AGAIN and I still got a name which I can show myself as Lizzy Storm with. Oh, and sorry I made a new Ark Forum account AGAIN Dylan. So my name now is Lizzy Red Storm. I am no longer a member of the IFN, I am now an ‘Arkadia Advisor’ A.K.A. a glorified tour guide. And I am making a new logbook, AGAIN. The formula for the logbook will not really change. I will still post RP, pictures, lame jokes, music, logs, tests, spreadsheets, etc. etc. Narf! Lizzy Storm.
May 16th, 3000-and-something Speedy! So… I’m such a traitor. I am actually on Calypso! The reason I am here, and I don’t know if anyone remembers, but do you remember those damn Kanin pets? I just got to get the Ruby to level 7 before I go back to Arkadia. And it’s a pointless thing to do because no one wants these pets. No one on Calypso, no one on Arkadia. Being on Calypso is also the reason why I have yet to post a new picture of my avatar. I want to have one that looks cool, taken on Arkadia, with my adviser outfit on. All the while I bring you the songs of my people; “WTS KANIN PETS NAO!~” So, my time on Calypso is spent on a variety of things. Hunting punies, discovering TP’s, fruit walking, pet leveling and spamming trade. Another thing that I started, even way too late, is the Enigma Keys event. Soon enough I will be one of the many people waiting for stage 3 to be fixed. But I’m not here to talk about any shortcomings. I am writing this because of the rewards. I know I won’t be able to win that grand prize anymore, but there is something else for every participant; 10% Acceleration. OK, not bad. Jumpsuit. WTF? If this jumpsuit functions like all the other jumpsuits we had so far, then it will be unequipped as soon you equip a different piece of clothing or armor. If we look at the Adjusted Harrier, that will only be a 2% speed increase. So why would anyone ever what that jumpsuit? This PCF post shows you can have a maximum of 25% acceleration through the items category. Pets, Rings and armor fall under that category. Now, look at Social. 10%! Is it a valid theory that the 10% social acceleration buff would come from clothes? However… looking at all the options, meh. You can combine so many buffs to get to that maximum of 50% acceleration. (Really, just increased movement speed). But if you use the jumpsuit you probably can’t wear armor. Unless you are an ‘uber’ hunting really slow creatures (Proteron as example), you won’t need armor but speed. But otherwise, WTF are you going to use all that movement speed on?! The only reason I am actually considering getting that damn jumpsuit is to be able to show it off, if they ever decide to discontinue the event.
May 20th, 3000-and-something Advisor I couldn't really wait any longer to show off my Advisor Outfit, and I think there are enough people that have yet to see it in it's full glory. Yes, I do feel weird walking around in this on Calypso. And as silly as it is, I am not done on Calypso yet (Enigma Event.) Plus I also got 3 stages left to obtain the Refurbished S.I.H.E.A.R.T. VI. And not to mention getting my Ruby Kanin to level 7, finishing the calypso punies for evade (7k to go) and trying to actually sell my kanins, but no one seems interested. Anyway, I am still lurking in the Arkadia Chat in case I can help someone.
May 23rd, 3000-and-something Refurbished S.I.H.E.A.R.T. VI One of the things I set out to do is to get the Refurbished S.I.H.E.A.R.T. VI on Cyrene, before returning to Arkadia. I wanted that FAP because it is just a really good FAP if you cannot afford the restoration chips, and it can last you a very, very long time hunting. Check out the comparison below. The first two stages of the mission requires you to collect some items from creatures that frankly I was not up to doing, so I bought the items from the auction house. The MU for the items for the second stage war quite high, but I guess that Cyrene is suffering from the lack of planet specific drops like Arkadia is too. These items I also bought in advance of coming to Cyrene, because why not? Stage three were to kill 250 Weak Paneleon. Those were really easy to kill. Low HP and very high agro made hunting a piece of cake too. It took me about 50 kills to find out there was no need for armor and the 15ped global I got was a nice touch too. Now, Young Crystal Pede for stage four were a whole different story. They move really fast making them super annoying for melee to hunt. You really need a rifle to tag them at the least if you are hunting them. And armor. And a FAP. Also, killing a certain number of these will make a Crystal Engorged Pede of 1000 spawn in the area too. Once I left the area there were 6 that I spawned by doing the hunt. I avoided every single one of them, didn’t think it was worth spending the time on them. Next stage were Duster Scapegoats. They were humanoids, not goats. And really easy compared to the Pedes. But at this point I am starting to wonder what kind of crystal drugs the creatures of Cyrene are on, because my they all move like they got somewhere better to be. They are zipping around faster than I can run. Stage 6. O.M.G. these mobs are just terrible. Puny Nimets. PUNY IS NOT THE WORD I’D GIVE SOMETHING WITH 550HP, but there was also terrible lag that made them moonwalk away from me, making the 4 hour ordeal just worse. They do 100% electric damage so I wasn’t able to use my armor either, so I had to resort to hiring a friend to heal me. Gabriel Gabby Ninetails is who the credits go to! Stage 7 and 8, Living vortexes, not too bad. They can swarm you but with the mentor armor they are easy. Zero healing required. And finally, finally I got my FAP completed at the end with these dreadful returns. *Returns include the costs of the bones What is left to do now is level my Ruby Kanin that no one wants to level 7, 5500 more puny creatures to kill for a little bit of evade and getting that jumpsuit from the Enigma event that I will never use because of my Advisor outfit. Here, have some farming music while I reconsider my life's choices. Almost forgot the eye candy!
May 24th, 3000-and-something Loot sux Loot sucks! ….. uhu. Bad/60% returns! ….. sure. I bet you got that from your non-existent spreadsheet, did ya? No MU on loot! ….. well duh, the TT doesn’t give MU. Some of the typical excuses. The most entertaining are the people that want an audience with the A-team because “they know how to make the game better because they have X years of experience in Y industry.” Dove posted some nice basic info on hunting here, here and here. Also here. And here is where I write why your argument is invalid. 1 Loot sucks. It doesn’t. There are people in MA that do their best to balance the loot on needs and wants of the player and MU. The loot sucks in a way only that is not exciting to loot shrapnel and oil residue. Yes we all want UNL crap but that is just uncommon. 2: Bad returns. To get a grip on a mobs drops and returns you want to kill a few thousand of each mob and drop every single penny in an excel sheet or something similar. People often complain about their returns but they are truly just eyeballing things and are unable to prove the numbers they claim to get. 3: No MU on loot. Yeah well, too many people hunt with a budget that is too small to gather big enough stacks for the auction. You got 100 ped and hunt Nusul for an hour and keep seeing your ped decline while dumping all loot in the TT, or you wait till you have 1000 ped and hunt them, and collect stacks for the AH. Patience is a big part of the game. Mean Lizzy is stopping with the rant now. I just felt like posting this because things don’t seem to be as they used to be on Arkadia. While on Calypso I still have the Arkadia Chat open. I help here and there where I can, but other than that it’s rather quiet. Not many people are chatting anymore. And no chatting is less sharing, less networking. I know there is a bug where some people’s games don’t save the chats they joined. I got it too. What I did is save the channel links in a sticky, and when I log in I join them all. It is annoying, but it works. Secondly, I see the same type of questions over and over again. “Where is X mob?” We got Entropia Wiki now instead of the old Entropedia. There is so, so much information to find there. We got a ton of information on the forums too, but it seems that only the usual suspects lurk on the forums now.
June 12th, 3000-and-something Loot sux #2 So, my last post was about loot. Having spent some more time on Arkadia I realized loot seems to be far more volatile than it was before on higher maturity creatures. And since more people seem to hunt low maturity creatures, the globals seem skewed on entropia life as well. Making it appear as if low maturity hunting pays out better with bigger globals. Anyway, it took me till two days ago to finally get a solo global on Arkadia. It took me a few more globals to realise that I forgot to set up the tracker to actually take screenshots of my globals. So not much eye candy this time. Yes, I am trying to return to the throne of Halix Queen, but I must not forget to complete the puny missions along the way. In other news, the Arkadia Moon. Let me say once and for all; Arkadia Advisor or not, no one currently knows the exact date of the moon release, or know the name of the moon. People keep asking, but even the advisors are kept in the dark on all matters moon related. All we know is what'll happen the first day of release like with any other planet, it will rain discoveries. Since I have not much else to share just yet, have some music!
June 16th, 3000-and-something Fishsticks! For the last 3 days I have been focusing on the Jori mission. First of all, I have heard the spawns are terrible. The waters South of Sanctuary Cove have Jori, but the density is not great and the jury isn't out yet on it being taxed or untaxed land. I have also heard that the North/East of New Arrivals Hangar, which should carry low maturity in the deep/dark area on the map, are no longer there. I checked, they are still there, but you kinda need to be actually swimming to see them. So with that knowledge of planetside Jori spawns, I decided to go to my old stomping (swimming) grounds for Jori. The Smuggler Island. So this is what you need to know about the Smuggler Island. Once you get to the 3rd stage of the Oratan Daily (Bandits) you can enter the Smuggler Island to do the mission there. With the current Arkoin MU, no one will pay to enter that island on a daily basis. Now here is the trick. You only have to pay once. To do the Jori mission on the Smuggler Island you pay the Smuggler once. A minimum of 250 Arkoins are required to enter the instance. 250 Arkoins if you are on the Bandit stage, more if you have moved passed that already. As long you don't complete the Oratan Daily, you can enter the instance as many times as you like. You can spend as much time in there as you like too. So, here's where I am at at this moment in time; In regards to the Orange Paint they can drop, at the moment that is a 0,095% droprate. If they drop it's either a small quantity (1-2) or a big one (30-65). With the current droprates I would get 1,85k (give or take) of Orange Paint. Just a bit over half I need for the Viceroy. They also drop tons of Animal Muscle Oil, the MU is not that bad on that either. Overall the loot they give got good MU, you just need to be able to hold on to it for a long time in order to have stacks big enough for the auction. I am guestimating that it will cost me a bill of 9500ped in expenses to be able to finish the whole Jori mission. With that number, I'd say you would need about 1/4th of it to be able to farm them to the end and be able to post most, if not all of the loot on the auction. Most of the loot is in Shrapnel and Animal Muscle Oil which should sell easy to keep you going. Now for the big question... Why do I post this? Surely I cannot earn back those losses with just MU. I know I won't. I am posting this because the potential of the creature is there to pay out but no one is taking that chance. Few people are hunting Jori. One reason is because of the spawns. The other for the fact it's a swimming creature. I don't like hunting them because I feel like no one else is hunting them. And if no one else seems to be hunting them then every global I get feels like I just get a little bit back of everything that I put in. The globals are not happening often (1 in 500 kills) and I'd love to see more. Here, have some music. Maybe it will help you decide to hunt more out of the box and slay those Jori. PS: I wanted to post some of my global pictures, but for some reason the tracker didn't make pictures while it did work a few days ago. Sorry!
Strange that there is still so little awareness about the nearest... http://arkadiaforum.com/threads/jori.11681/#post-98004 http://arkadiaforum.com/threads/random-screen-shots.12621/#post-98726 http://arkadiaforum.com/threads/sans-hunting-log.12249/page-5#post-98957
Because I have gotten back onto my fiction writing horse, I thought it was nice to share one of my short stories with you guys. And this is not a Jori thing, I just happened to have this one in English already, I got another one I'd need to translate first. Timmy's Fish. Ever since Timmy was a little kid he was fascinated by his fish. His parents gave him a little goldfish when he was 8. Starting in a fish bowl with some sand at the bottom and Lego pirates hiding a chest behind at the bottom of a rock pile. He named the fish Rose, not knowing whether it was a boy or a girl. Over the years as he got older, the fishbowl turned into a tank, and then tank turned into an even bigger tank. Each upgrade the fish and the Lego pirates moved along with it. The goldfish found new tank mates with the upgrade, small guppies added more color and life to the tank. Plants filled out the blank areas and in the last tank the pirates recruited more and had more treasures to hide. All the time Timmy kept his tanks clean, learned what he could about fish and water. In the year he would turn 18 he started studying to become a marine biologist, wanting to turn his love and hobby into his dream job. During his absence from home, his first goldfish kept on growing. Timmy tried and tried, but he could not feed it enough to stay away from the guppies. One by one the smaller fish disappeared into the mouth of the goldfish until there were none left. Timmy decided to conduct a cruel plan to release himself of his goldfish, but not to kill it. He put his fish in a large bag and took it to the lake next to his city. Now this lake was huge, when you stand on the edge you cannot see the other side, not even on a clear day. The lake was big enough for the fish and should have more than enough small fish for Rosa to eat. At home Timmy repopulated his tank with new fish and all went well. It took some time but he finished his degree with flying colors, landing him a good government job. Years went by and slowly he forgot about Rosa, his focus shifting more to exotic fish. Never leaving the small town he grew up in, rumors started to spread about a sunken ship, laying at the bottom of the lake. Hundreds of years ago when the lake was still connected to a river the town was a trading point for seafaring merchants. During the next summer treasure hunters flocked the town with small, but advanced boats, to find that sunken ship. One by one they left as soon as they arrived. Some not finding anything, others thinking they were close. There was one captain however who claimed to have found the ship. When he let a small robot down to investigate it was destroyed. As a long time sailor he acclaimed it to be a beast in the sea. He was scared, while no one in the town dared to believe him in fear of being branded a crazy fool. Timmy, our now marine biologist, felt like his time off work would be a nice excuse to go on his own treasure hunt in the lake. He recruited old friends from his studies to make it a more casual and fun adventure. Sadly there was more drinking than treasure hunting. One particular afternoon there was so much drinking, that most of the men were too drunk to do anything else than sleep it off. During their drunken slumber none of them woke up by the sun disappearing behind a large storm cloud. They finally woke once the boat started rocking from the waves caused from the storm. Haphazardly they try to get their heads together to bring the boat back to shore, but the waves are hard to manage. With every wave it feels like they are pulled back instead of getting closer. As the storm started to pour down on the men it only gets worse. One wave breaks on the side of the boat, taking Timmy out of balance, falling overboard in the wild water. The fall freezes him for a few seconds until he feels something under him. Whatever it is under him, it is moving. Out of reflex he grabs and holds on to it. When the water is out of his eyes he sees a golden glow under him, guiding him to shore. Is that the monster the other men were talking about? Once near the shore he lets go. In the distance he can see his friends slowly coming closer. He looks around but the golden glow is gone. Years following the accident he never let go of the idea that his beloved pet fish might just be the monster that saved him. He told a few people but no one wanted to believe him. Until the day he died of old age he would go to the lake during a storm. Hoping he would see a glimpse of his golden savior.
BYE JORI! I WON'T MISS YA~! I BET YOU WON'T MISS ME EITHER! Today I have finished all the stages of the Jori mission! First time ever! And for the number hungry people here is a simplified breakdown of my returns. The weapons section is my weapons + amp, (Leoi Shock Dagger + MTA 4) The armor was the Musca Adjusted only. The FAP was the Refurbished S.I.H.E.A.R.T. VI. I tiered it to tier 1 around the beginning of stage 5. In other news, it has been a week or two ago that something in chat caught my eye! Say whaaaat? *ninja edit* Again I forgot to add some eye candy!
You used Leoi Shock Dagger for Jori? Isn't that a bit overkill even for the stalkers. You basically just one shot them, no?
July 29th Well, it's been some time I last posted here. First I spend some time on Calypso, did a little bit of healing on the migration. Nothing much special. Did a little bit of hunting, little bit of crafting, little bit of #arkadia spamming for Oratan Lancers. All in all it has been a rather quiet month. Here is a selection of the eye candy. So, what are my plans now? I have been trying to sell some of the skills I don't intend to use anymore as I have switched to BLP pistoleer. I have been hunting Halix a lot too and I plan that in the near future I will farm them some more and post the stats on it. So far I have completed the whole mission chain and stage 6 twice now. For those curious there is of course a small picture of my returns for the two stage 6's. I was actually complaining about bad returns earlier today, and honestly I was very wrong. These numbers are ok and a little bit of the losses can be earned back through MU. Once migration is done and the Arkadia Moon excitement has been passed, I will return to these Halix and farm the living sh*t out of them! Over and out! Lizzy *edit* Regarding returns, the reason I was complaining was because of this. This is what I've cycled so far on completed missions only, there is more hunting that isn't logged here (Shared Loot, Daily, Carabok, Gallard, Monura F, Feran, Wombana, Oro and Dromia.) but it doesn't make this look much better.
PUNY POWAAAH I finished the Monura Female mission! 3 more puny missions left to complete! (Gallard, Carabok and Dromia!) Because of two really nice globals, my returns were at 108,18%!!! 69,11 ped TT total profit.
