The idea of selling the LAs only through the broker is, I believe, to create a strong demand for Arkoins and stimulate key crafting and in turn the whole treasure hunting profession. Half of the treasures are used in making keys, and if MUs on at least some of those are above 120%, a good treasure hunter can profit or at least break even. Even if the MU of Arkoins is only 150%, I think we'll see a consistent increase in treasure MU as a result. Let's not forget that the UL swords you get from instances have become a bit more valuable now that they go down to 3%, making instances a little more profitable. Also, as demand for arkoins increases, we can probably expect to see them drop more in loot. Unless the "hoarding" interferes... but I'd expect the balancing team to be on top of that issue.
......on soo many levels.... I really think Arkadia Studios nailed it on this one, actively building an economy with the community at the heart.
I had a look around the place last night. I like the televator in the water, much easier to get back up top without reviving. I'm assuming the lack of TP is to encourage the buyer to pay for one The only reservation I have is what happens to Arkoin mu after it's sold. Assuming multiple people could be competing to buy it, you could have many dumping a lot onto the market afterwards, especially if they're only doing it to sell the LA.
The plan is to release 6 land areas via the arkoin broker, so I assume as soon as the first one is sold, another will be brought online (or at the next update) and so on until they're all sold. This should keep the demand for arkoins relatively constant... at least until there are no more players interested in land areas Also remember that there are other nice items in there too, and new ones will be brought it as time goes by. After the 6 land areas are released, maybe it'll be time for more continents.
Supply and demand. Look at the cost of apartments and shops, the prices were ott for the same reason but it's because there were so few in comparison to other planets (and now even more in space) the prices are high. The same goes for publicly available LA's.
So ... who's willing to contribute "behind the scenes" to my next project regarding the Island Estates ... if you have something that you feel is of interest or importance that relates to the island estates, please send me a PM ... do not post it in this thread ... the element of surprise is what works the best, and you know me ... I like to surprise ... and all sources will be kept confidential, unless you want your name mentioned, up to you ... Already talked with Dave about this, so let's see what we can come up with ... who's hoarding all the Arkoins who's helping them hoard all the Arkoins ... ya, I know - no one wants to give it up who will be the Ninja Island Estate Snatcher who do YOU think will be the first Island Estate proprietor do you think YOU'LL be the first .. and if so be sure to invite the media to the grand opening oh, and ... maybe we'll be surprised with a sleeper - who knows READY ... SET ... GO
