You can find the owner name by looking at the estate console in front of each shop or booth.

I saw the deed for Celeste Quarry Booth #4 (I think it's #4 -- the empty one right by the ramp) at a shop in Twin Peaks Mall a few days ago. It was listed for 25k peds.

There's a few shops in Celeste Harbour that haven't been stocked in quite some months. I don't remember off the top of my head exactly which these are, and have absolutely no idea what the status' or intentions of the owners are, but they'd be the first people I'd try to contact. Inactive shops don't help anyone.

the Booth at Celeste Quarry #4 is in limbo.. the owner has refused all reasonable offers from players, and is in a delusional state. The rest of the Shops at the Quarry should be placed on the AU shortly, the Ark dev team did promise that the remaining shops at the Quarry, and apartments at the harbor would be released in the first quarter of 2014..... It would be nice to have an update on the time expected.

Yep.... 25 K is nutz.... and this is coming from the crazy loon that paid the highest for his booth, at 16.5 K.... and then invested 5 K in 50 more item points.... I love my booth, but i did end up paying top dollar for it. And come March when i get my 50 more item points, I will love it even more ;)

25 K for a 20 item point booth is about as laughable as what was it? 70K for a booth at the now dead Neas place?

I wouldn't sell my quarry booth for 25k. The booths are at the best sales location on Arkadia. Turnover from that shop is almost always higher than at any other shop I own.

I'm not sure. For 10K (in additional for paid 15K in current prices for basic Shop in Celeste, will be 25K in sum) you can increase turnover of your shop (i have currently up to 15 sales per day in my shop), just put it in an additional 100 items. Also, the volume of goods at a booth can not exceed 224 items, even if you put 11 Shop Keepers to the booth (dont forget about 10 PEC decay of Keepers), also you must pay 11x2K (22K PED) for Keepers, and 5000 PED for 50 additional item points. 20 item points is not enough (with 3 keepers too)! If you can add all that, you will pay 25K+5K+22K = 49K PED for 224 item points, this will be very hard to return in future sales.
The key to success, as i see, is the maximum quantity of offers (items) and minimum range of prices (if it is possible for you), clients will walk to your shop regardless of where it is located. So I would suggest, given the location of the booth (quarry) price for it can not be higher than 12-15k, and sure not 25K or more. Nothing according personal for you, only realistic things.

I would in your place would not sell too :)

To OP: You can wait for next Shop auction, i think it will be in the middle of this year ;)

    Hi Gewitter,

I agree it's a personal perspective but I can only go on sales data I have collected over the last two years. I have 3 shops and a booth. The booth and two of the shops basically have the same stock (ie weapons and amps, etc) but at the shops I have multiples of the same item so that there is less chance of selling out of stock. Every month I have 200 - 300+ sales for 20 - 35k ped. (In January total sales to date reached 500k). The booth consistently accounts for more than 1/3 of the weapons sales and in some months is around 50% or more. And while I like to think my repeat customers will travel to any of my shops, there is a distinct advantage to having a presence in the area that new arrivals are likely to go to when trading and socialising. (It's also no coincidence that my shops at Celeste Harbour are the most visible and accessible to people when they arrive on planet).

I believe there are many keys to success but three of them are location, location, location.

I appreciate others may have different ideas about what they would be prepared to pay but I look at it this way. Shops currently sell for around 13 - 15k and I personally value the booths to be at least double the value of any shop in Celeste Harbour or Sanctuary Cove.

(BTW, I'm really impressed by your daily sales report. I have some days with up to 20 sales but 10 is more typical and some days are very quiet indeed. So great work there :) )

    Regards,
    Kikkijikki

    KikkiJikki,

When I choosing a place for my Shop (I bought CN8 and CN9 in one-time), I decided to save CN8 because near it run all who come to Arkadia (all newbies). And do a bright sign :)
So location is important, yes :)

PS I had quiet days (2-5 sales) too, and was 20+ sales, but usually sales is close to 10-15.
I do not keep a strict accounting of turnover (Once a month, I check my journal), as the main purpose for the Shop I have is the sales of those things that might not sold at auction the first time, to avoid paying taxes and not give a gift for resellers.

    Regards,
    Andy

Kikki, in general you have the same items in the booth as the shops, so if you didn't have the booth, I think it's likely that you'd simply get more business at the shops. I know a lot of times I just run to wherever's nearest, but if you didn't have a booth, I'd just go to the shop instead.

Also, I think shops in general are not very economical at these prices. For everyone that can bring in a real profit with their shop, there are 10 more who won't, at least not until they sell their shop for even higher inflated prices.

Hopefully the bugs in the Valiant shops will be fixed soon and those can start being released.

Neil, I calculated ROI of the shop based on my sales and I get the digits - in 2-3 years, it is faster than ROI of LA

No idea what ROI on a land area is... but if you mean it would take 2-3 years of shop sales to earn back the cost of your shop, that is my point exactly... shops are too expensive. I understand tho why MA does it... they make an insane amount of daily income from auction fees. This is IMO the sole reason why shops are so expensive and why we do not see more affordable, smaller shops. Anyway, I'll drop it since price of shops is off topic.

On topic, to sum up, you can currently get a shop or booth only from the avatar owner in game (including Hawkwing for any unsold Sanc Cove shops), since there are no new shops being released by the devs at the moment.

Unfortunately, there are only 4 shops currently at SC and they are all currently occupied. All remaining shops are currently unavailable to me and by extension are unavailable to the rest of the community.

To further refine Neil's summary, you can only get a shop or booth from auction, or directly from an existing owner.

Is'nt the shop or the booth that made the income dear KJ ;)
It is the items you sale in them (quality and quantity aswell)
I see ppl owned shops and booths on Ark or Caly (I think I'd seen or RT too), just to bring TT stuff from one planet to another.
If you want my opinion? That should'nt allowed at first place from MA.
Also all the shops are expensive but those are "crazy" expensive are in Mall's on Caly.

Anyway I plan to invest in a nice place myself at the future on Ark or Caly,
but in a reasonable amount of money and I think 8000k that booth #1 was sold on Harbor it is not acceptable price for me.

P.S. A question for dev’s: Is there any plan at the future, for shops to have a decent entrance and maybe …. large window displays, as shops use to have in common elsewhere and RL?
Because those dungeons or mazes that now are in…. are not entrances for shops ;/
Is this a common design at shops @ Sweden, perhaps? lol

So, how newbies can buy weapons from another planets? Only by visitng them? Its too expensive and will work only for MA pockets.
'Great' idea, MA must give you a prize.
Better thing will be lowering a minimal MU for item in 1 PED, to 1 PEC (10 PEC maybe). This will be correct, but not what you said.

About prices for Shops... prices will not drop down in near future :)

    /to Gewitter
yes if you want a TT item you can visit a planet or ask a friend to bring it to you.
I think, that's the main idea of the game and space involved in it. Call it ---> Adventure!

FYI *Probably im not one of your customers and I'll never be one ;)
