reply with my phone, it don let me modify my post so please merge it later. We, Arkadian are the colonists of Arkadia, all the things should be build around us, that means using the common Arkadian minerals to craft things we needed. Not build things around LA owners, I know its business and I can accept some key things contain La only resources, but I hope can spread into more different kinds of resources, there are way too much TT food, what A team need to do is create demand for those resources instead of making low supply but high demand resouces even more populr, it would only piss your players off.
Yep, this is bugging me pretty badly too since I haven't been able to find some of the ingredients for aakas keys outside of 8-coins either.
Aakas Plating is the only one of the key ingredients that is found solely in 8 Coins (it's not a major ingredient in most keys). All the other ingredients can be found elsewhere.
Player inventories should not be seen as a steady source or justification. And...you can *see* their storage? What happens when everyone exhausts these stores? As a full-fledged Arkadian, I would hope you could see our desire to be more-self-sustaining. Technologies developed *HERE* should be using components from HERE. That is the way it is done: you use what is around you to make what you need? I don't see Inuit Tribesmen making huts out of bamboo. Arkadian products should be made with at least 90% Arkadian goods...100% ideally. I haven't checked thoroughly, but if there are new items on Calypso that are heavily dependant upon Arkadian resources, then I will shut up, but somehow I doubt it*. Calypso is not the center of the universe, even our universe. Break the monopoly of Calypso. Why do they need to have a finger in our pies? There are so many things to craft on Calypso, so why should any of our handful of useful BP's require anything from Calypso? *I did some checking. There are exceptions to every rule, but I haven't found a single Calypsan BP that requires an Arcadian resource. I haven't cheked everything, but if someone knows of one, please tell me.
Thats because Arkadian Ore/EnMatts/Treasures is Arkadian, what you and most of us refer to as Calypso materials is from the Shared Database that every planet can use.
You are right. I have been clicking around and soem items in Entropedia that say "Planet Calypso" do seem to drop from Arkadian mobs. They should be in the Entropia Universe section if this is true. Ok, I recant my rant on us requiring materials from Calypso. I think if we expand the economy on Arkadia, we can be more self-sustaining. But, this brings us back to the OP's original point about LA's having a monopoly on a mined resource. That should not be so. DNA we can't do anything about, and we've seen LA owners kill spawns threatening species before, but last time I checked, there was no DNA for mined resources. Then again, there was much complaining about Ruga and Dunkel back in the day, and that is just a matter of overall supply, not just location. There are balances to be maintained I cannot see, I am sure. While I have an issue with items stored in player inventories seen as a ready supply of materials, the truth is many BP's are unviable because of the supply of materials required to make them is so small. Some designs will fall into this category, but we make do with what we have, find alternatives, and move on...
We mine up a lot of the "universal" ores on ark, so it only makes sense to include those in Ark BPs too. The risk, tho, is that Mindark will move the ore to a different planet, and that throws off the supply... or they could remove the ore from the universe completely (probably not likely with the commonly used ores as it would mess up many BPs).
Just to re-iteterate, all Arkadian bps use resources that can be found on Arkadia. Some of these resources can also be found on other planets. This wasn't always the case, at launch some bps used stuff that could only be found elsewhere but they were changed after MA introduced lootable space and cut off the interplanetary tps. I'm sorry but I don't see a problem with the LAs have exclusive access to small number of ore\en\treasure. Two players invested in Arkadia before launch and received LAs that hunters and miners have incentive to use. I would expect these resources to have a slightly increased MU to account for the impact of tax on the TT return. There are many bps that don't use these resources. Regards, KikkiJikki
View attachment 7400 Just in case some people haven't saw the ingredients of Athena Terra amps, add a screenshot to show what I'm talking about. Zulax is THE ONLY Arkadian ORE and NONE of Arkadian Ematter(Other than LA only minerals) that being used in Arkadia mining amps, that's what I'm complaining about. imo it is ridiculous to make blueprints so heavily dependent on LAs, and it is unhealthy for the planet to grow in the long term. Anyway I voice to things I think need to be look into, I voiced my concern, rest are wait for A-team to decide what they feel is good and right for Arkadia.
Well, the rest of them use Lidacon which is only found in sanctuary cove, so it's the same situation.
It's not the same situation, because it's very easy to get lidacon. Often 50% or more of my loot is lidacon. That area can be overmined as well. Anyways I don't have any problem with rewarding the special investors with unique minerals. The problem I have is one of balance and cost... the 8 coins minerals are too rare and too expensive to make the amps economical. For goodness sake... why use a terra amp at 111 or 113% when you can buy a level 5 amp for 110.5%??
Thanks for posting this, I wasn't aware that these new prints were so heavily dependant on 8 Coins resources. From my perspective the LA-specific elements should be mixed in with Arkadia-wide and universe-wide resources to maintain economic balance. Placing too much emphasis on one area, or one set of resources, tends to cause long term complications without yielding much in the way of benefits for the community or for the property owner. Unfortunately I am not sure if I can do anything about this particular set of blueprints - Deathifier
I wish all arkadia specific resources where used in atleast a wide number of bp's. say there are 10-15 bp's that each resource can be used in. Then if 1 or 2 bp's don't get used a lot, the resources will still have use in another area. ideally, spread it to 3-4 blueprints per category, but that might be a hassle. either way, i'm saying more BP's, using arkadia materials, and preferably limited to a smaller number of materials, or components crafted from arkadia resources. (components would be a fast way to introduce more material use as long as they are required in higher bp's. maybe add optional materials to bp's? where you can use an alternative for resources that are comparable? this would need carefull balancing, but say you where able to switch out axe flint with arrow flint, or aarkan pellets with bronze alloy or something.
Finally out of military camp for vacation again. Thanks Deathifier, I'm not posting in order to force A-team to change these existing blueprints, but want to let them aware of this issue and try not to let it happen again. And I also hope you can ask A-team to look into the mineral distribution that was fucked up in last VU, it is truly terrible to mine on Ark now, the old mineral distribution works great, I can't see a reason for them to change it otherwise mindark step into and change it.
I believe this is generally the way they are doing things however keep in mind Arkadia now has a huge number of planet-specific resources with Treasure Hunting and the various types in hunting loot. I doubt the blueprints can be changed however I have indeed indicated (in this thread and directly) that their approach with these blueprints is far from ideal and it is much better to have a nice mix of LA and non-LA specific resources. If you haven't done so already you would be better served posting a new thread on the forum that shows the changes you've observed and ask the community for their observations. - Deathifier
Arkadia Update 2013.2 has largely resolved this issue by distributing the previously 8 Coins unique resources across multiple non-LA regions. - Deathifier
