I dont know if this is a "known issue" but I've literally minutes ago posted in an "Uber loots" thread and when I hit "What's New" button it should list that thread right at the top. As it is, its not listed at all. I could miss a lot of threads that way, and I dont know if it happens in other forum sections within the forum, certainly doesnt happen that way on PCF / EF and every other forum I've ever used. Hope you can fix it, Thanks.
It appears for everyone who hasnt read it yet... seeing as you created the post, its not new for you All of this stuff is explained here: Forum Features, Limitations, Bits and Bobs
Well its good that it shows for everyone else, but I consider it flawed as its the only forum I've come across that works that way.
Fix it? Its not a flaw, its more efficient. And you wont miss anything, since you are the one posting. Any reply AFTER your post will show up as new.
I use New Posts button / What's New to check my post for any spelling errors or omissions / revisions, anyway this forum has been around for about a year so if anyone had wanted it changed, it would have been by now. As you were.
A couple of changes have been added to the forum. New Subforum There is now a new Technical section for your technical issues such as your PC. Please use it. Reputation System You may have noticed a "Call to Arms!" notice when you log in. We've had an influx of spammers lately and while we admins and mods spend a lot of time on here, we do occasionally need some sleep... that's why we now give you the power to, in a way, manage these spammers by using the reputation system. All you need to do is Negative Rep the spammers post with as much reputation as you can and when their reputation count goes below -10 then they will be banned. This banning happens 6 times every hour, starting on the hour, every 10 minutes. If you have posted more than 50 times on this forum then you have the power to help, and we thank you. Also, please remember to report the post when you've neg repped them so we admins and mods can go clean up after them when we can. Also, anyone caught abusing this system by neg repping people they don't like repeatedly will have their reputation feature turned off, and depending on the severity, receive a ban. However, we encourage you to neg rep spammers repeatedly. Thanks
Are the spammers posting anything or just browsing?Haven't seen any except my visitors list..LOL..But the team on Arkadia jumped on them "like white on rice!"...Yay "A" TEAM!!...
Yeh they do occasionally post stuff... I will be implementing some changes over the weekend to ensure that if spammers do arrive, they are only able to hit one forum for the first few posts or soemthing... fun times.
Can we have some button or something to press to make all new threads "read" please? It's hard getting back after some days off or something and having to "read" every thread just to clean up the "new post" section
if im correct, there should be a "mark all threads read" button already. it's on the bottom of the forum
I've added a new calendar for Official Arkadia Events that you can all use to see what's coming up. The current events are also shown at the bottom of the forum listing in the "What's Going On" section. This should help you guys keep track of current and future events. This is a calendar that is open for view by everybody but you can not create events there. I will create another calendar at some point which allows you all to add your events etc into it - however the calendar will be moderated so a mod must approve it before it's published... this is just to cut down on useless things like "Saturday 8th December. Need to go shopping for dog food and hemorrhoid cream" The Calendar link is located at the top of every thread under the "Blogs" button.
lol I love the concept of hemorrhoid cream making it to a calendar. As if it's really important not to forget, but not so important that you haven't sprinted down to the shops already. Nice calendar mate, that'll sure help keep an eye on what's going on.
Righto so in an effort to be more transparent to you, our valued members, I have made all post deletion notices visible to everyone... well, nearly everyone, guests won't see them, so if you're a guest, please register or sign in! When we delete posts they are for rule violations and now you will see a reason why the post was deleted.
Arkadia Time is now visible in the "Useful Links" submenu on pretty much every page. It's easier to find as it's at the top and you don't have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page.
A new link has been added to the menu bar - "Today's Posts" It should return a list of threads where the last post was in the last 24 hours.
