Great to hear diagen is finally turning up
Can you acturally read the thread before reply? You replied twice and none of them constructive, also asked questions that can find answer just above my post. read the thread before post if you really want to discuss something regarding the topic of the thread.
It doesn't take a lot of skill actually. My miners start finding the rares starting with the Z20 (which can ofc find claims at 700m even though the average search depth is 552), the rate only goes up a little as you go deeper. If you put an amp on, you're not going to find any. It's not a question of depth or skill, merely volume. They simply need to be made less "rare".
I myself don't find rares since I don't have a huge amount of time to mine these days, I always amp.
Yes i did read, and it did not answer my question that why i asked
Not true. All 4 of my finds were amped. And in 2 of my cases, my finds were the same size or larger than the total combined amounts ever sold on auction.
It just happens that I found 2 rares a while back on one server on consecutive days...and then about 10k drops later, I found two more rares on back to back amped runs. Rare is just rare. Perhaps too rare.
By telling people they will not find rares while amped, you're asserting a negative. How can you back up that statement?
I just hit 6.60 ped TT of Frakite tonight.....amped. Not sure why, but I got 3 rares in two days now.
Sorry, I should have said, "you're almost certainly not going to find any".
No worries, I just want to distinguish between rare and never.
So my experience has been ~1700 triple amped drops with nothing and then two Regula finds.
Then another ~3500 triple amped drops and nothing. In the past 2 days, I have hit 3 rares.
So it seems to come in clusters.
For reference, I just hit lvl 30 Treasure Hunter. Don't know if that's a factor or not.
Pirrel tonight.....I give up.
I have no clue why....
they fixed it.. for now.. alot animal parts been dropping and ive found 4 or 5 rare claims in 2 days.. with lvl 7 amp.. and 2 of those claims have been ample size
also friend reported he found several rares with lvl 5 amp
it seems like things have changed just in the last few days. madana tails are dropping more frequently including in stacks of more than one. And one player has been able to supply me with increased amounts of bodai. Now Chris has said that updates are required to change this sort of thing so I wonder if its just the natural clumpiness of pseudo-random events. I also saw this sort of thing not long after the previolus patch but it didnt last.
Good to see things turning, good, I can also assuming Mindark was just too lazy to adjust it since March. I hope Dave can have a serious talk with Mindark regarding this issue. It has significant hold back the growth of Arkadian economy, such things shouldn happen again.
I wouldn't get too excited yet. lets see how long the increased drop rate lasts
Agreed, it could just be lumpy loot. As is the norm for me.
Everything I have seen from MA in the past 9 years tells me a VU or a patch needs to applied for loot to change fundamentally.
That said it does necessarily mean things are not working as envisioned. Could be treasure and other rares like Madana tails are designed to drop periodically and not consistently on a daily basis.
Yep, halix tails and beladoth nails and frakite with a level 5 amp. Past two days. Let's hope MA finally got around to adjusting drop rates and it isn't just a fluke.
I would guess the way it works is this: Arkadia sets items as "rare" or "common" and specifies a target markup or drop rate, and that data all goes in with the VU. But MA balancing team can make changes to any of those materials as needed on the fly (as we know), and if the balancing team has enough motivation, they will do it. But they'd prefer to wait until the next patch because then they don't have to muck around and change settings manually for each material.
Well. as I said... they probably don't need an VU do adjust drope rates. Maybe if they need to change locations, that my guess.
Just back home again, gotta reply you one last time to let you know how informationless of yourself
Because Chris says so
Have a nice day
I don't know if even Chris how totally knowledge of how the system works, I still don't believe that a VU update is needed to adjust the drops rates. It's possible it's needed to change where it can be found at that is what he mean.
There is multiple settings that together define the drop rate of items. Most of these can not be adjusted without a patch from MA. Simple settings can be done without a patch but is usually not the most elegant way of increasing the drop rate.
Yes I don't have full knowledge of the systems backed such as algorithms and such but do know a fair bit of how the system functions.
Well, yes and no.
Yes, in the sense that every significant mining change I have seen has been via VUs or patches. This includes mining sizes after double dropping was introduced. I have been mining for almost 10 years. I have never seen any evidence that MA twiddles the knobs on drop rates like the Wizard of Oz behind a curtain during business hours.
No, in the sense that often rare finds come in clusters after a new bp requiring that rare mat drops. i.e. Dunkel has been dropping lately after a new bp requiring it appeared. That window closed quickly after the bp dropped, limiting the number of clicks. So MA could easily say that 2100 stones of X rare element gets introduced into the loot pool when Y bp is discovered. Essentially, they can delay drops of rare elements until a very rare or unique bp drops. Again, no need to twiddle knobs. I have seen evidence of this.
So MA can limit or increase drop rates using triggers.
All I can say is that the September platform update needs to be a big one from MA. They have so many bugs to fix its not funny anymore.
Since VU14 all clothing/textures and armours have looked awful for the sake of slightly improved avatar appearance. If they introduce more new content without fixing all the damage done in VU14 I think there will be some moves. Also they need to address the costs with new items being introduced and the devaluation of older items. We cant continue in a game where you buy an item worth 10k one month, VU update releases newer better item, your investment now worth 2k. They need to employ an economist to look at the markets and plan the introduction of new items with an understanding of how it effects players investments.
