You can also save fuel on the reentry if you have a passenger, but that involves a trip to the revive terminal. :)

Ummm, you do know that the MS has to be in orbit round a given planet in order to Summon from that plane?. So the MS must jump to RT to pick up one crafter, jump to Ark to pick the other up, then jump to howling mines? All for the sake of two crafters? Jumping is bloody expensive. Not gonna happen, not remotely eco.

Also you can'r assume thatthe MS is safe from pirates, just because it can jump. I'm surethe pirates will rise to the challenge and adapt.(and if they don't, then MA will adjust things to make it easier for them, as usual :D)

More realistically, one trader can bring a load of Alt from RT to Ark, and all the Ark crafters can buy it, and craft WW. That only requires one jump, and no worries what do with the (stackable!) res. I really fail to see any really good use for Howling Mines crafting terminal!

    But to answer the OP:

You are forgetting that Motherships are pretty much designed to ferry passengers en masse, not just for the private use of the MS owner. Some owners (notably JBK....and OK, i don't actually know of any more atm, buti expect that others will follow suit) are actually doing this. Check this out.

This looks like the future of interplanetary travel to me. (oh! if you sign up, mention my name. As part of the crew I'll get commission :D. Yeah, really. Woulda said it as a joke, but it's true!). We'll soon be saving the sleips for use as landing vehicles only, methinks

    you totally right but:
"You are forgetting that Motherships are pretty much designed to ferry passengers en masse, not just for the private use of the MS owner."

who will trade ???? for the owners of VTLO and wing it will take for ever to fly around, the big vessel are nice toys for rich people or they will be used for transport of large mass of people......so who will trade????

i think it will be fair to give the possibility to wing at least to use warp. They can carry just few hundred kg of items and maybe make few ped, still privater can trade tons of material and in case make some large amount of ped. But more important items will move around faster and in a larger amount according with demand and needs of each planet.

I think it's over 100 motherships and privateers in game.

If all of those ship owners decided to be active interplanetary traders, there would be no room and no reason for anyone to carry stackable goods in a VTOL or quad. So it woll be best for everyone who likes to pay for their travels by ferrying over some locally needed resource if these big guys mostly stay out of actively trading.

Imagine putting all your liquid funds into something to take to another planet, only to find out that your pilot brought over twice as much as you and plans to sell for half the markup since he already profited just for making a passenger trip?

If it's clear that you need it, someone will get it to you. You'll pay for it, but they'll probably have to compete for the chance. I wouldn't worry about interplanetary trade being dead.

EDIT: went looking and it seems are around 66 hangars and 17 motherships so, not quite 100. Still, it's more than most players seem to think.

Point is, that traders can make use of passenger services. They are not debarred from using an MS to transport their goods, just because they don't own an MS. They can pay theier fare, like everybody else, or even commission a special trip. Admittedly this isn't entirely safe (unless they use that notorious trick, ofc), but then they are not entirely safe in their quad either.

It's not a case that "Nobody wiill trade" , but that nobody is likely to trade by quad anymore. And yeah, it's sad that expensive quads might become redundant, unless MA spring a further surprise on us that turns the tables again, but it's definitely not the end of trade. Once people find their feet and adapt to the new system, I think that interplanetary trade will pick up again.

Since the update (now spawning in safe zones), quad trading is now safe enough for people to do it again. Not saying you should carry stackables in a lone quad, just saying people are going to start doing it again.
