Smuggler Armour Design Competition

Wooden clothing does have excellent armor characteristics.
However as it only protects against Pebble, Cactus and Wind damage types its overall usability is limited.
You bring up a good point tho.

And just to clarify, the Smuggler Armor I have described would not allow a person to equip two sets of armor at once.

 

Could be time to start a campaign for the introduction of wooden plates to address the clear deficiency in current armour protection.

Umm... Why? Why should it be illegal to wear a reworked armor?
That is nonsense. Is it illegal to wear a T-Shirt from Nike, where a celebrity wrote his signature in the front? Eeeks! Then I have an illegal shirt! And Dirk Nowitzki did it!!! :surrender:

An armor with the protection between Gremlin and Tiger class is a medium grade passive protection. And in a territory as dangerous as Arkadia is, it would be more than stupid to prohibit the use of this protection.
To rework it, is even more intelligent! Why should you use something, that doesn't fit your working style? Why should there be a problem in adding some solid metal arm guards, if you hunt Oros and can stop their attacks easier this way?

And on earth too, it is not illegal to wear a kevlar vest. Maybe someone would ask, why you wear it, but it is not illegal. Why should it be here??? We are not members of the armed forces, where self made changes would be illegal...

 

Yea armor that makes u invisible would be great, anyone that had it would rule the game in pvp. But I not sure how that would fly with MA. Markup of armor like that would be insane.

So if we cant be invisible, next best thing to that and fits the Smuggler ideal would be blending in.

here's a thought.... it's Smuggler armor, so that's not really HEY LOOK AT ME!!!! armor is it...
so make it to where we don't see it... if a player can wear the armor, but look like they are still just wearing normal clothes, that would fit the name.

the temr smuggler - question then: who are we smuggling from? Who trying to get past wasnt it the Oratan, armour can look like an Oratan.

 

Read the info page on one of the Smuggler items and this should be clear.

 

Hmm, I think smuggler gear needs to be covered up. Will post my designs later tonight. Almost finished!!

 

Using photoshop and the basic plugins (had to make a fishnet brush/pattern) I started to play with ideas for the smuggler armor design thread.
With these I tried to keep the org. Arkadian armor framework just changing the color/texture areas.
I am working on another one and will upload it when its done.

 

I like this blue one a lot, maybe its because it has a bit of Tron in it
