Buying all your Arkoins @ 110%
Make that 2 x lvl 6, 1 x lvl 4, 1 x lvl 5 ... same story : NO ARKOINS, EMPTY CHESTS, ONLY ROBOT JUNK :soangry:
I see no fun in spending 5h, shooting 2k+ ped ammo and idk how much decay just to get back 1.5k ped tt of ... JUNK !
FAIL ! I had enough
After patch, 2x07, 1x08, 1x10, Not a single arkoin. Frankly, it's ridiculous. Loot never covers ammo/decay spent+key tt, not even talking about markups.
Looted first item today, in like 12 instances total now, Khorum Ice Dagger, but it won't cover huge loss. Those who got all those armor parts when instances first launched, were the lucky ones, now it's nothing but mindless grind for a chance to loot a pile of robot crap. Yey, treasure hunting
We are looking into the Arkoin drops. I want to know has anyone looted an Arkoin sins the patch ? If someone has looted some Arkoins sins the patch then it might be that due to the amount of instances being run that the lootpool has been drained of Arkoins and the pool needs to regenerate a bit. If that is the case I will request MA to evaluate the Arkoins drop rate.
i just looted a 1000++ arkoins from a level 3 instance .... but the key i got it before the patch. just in case this helps.
edit: about 6-7 hours ago.
I have gotten exactly 70% tt return on the last 11 instances I've ran, 10 key 3 and now 1 key 7. Can any one tell me if I'm doing something horribly wrong or if this is just the way the instances work. Maybe I just have to do 100 of them to get something of a normal return :surrender:
I looted around 10 ped Arkoins yesterday in level 3 instance. I think people are mad about instance loot is because robot junks, it has absolutely no use in Arkadia, but we looted TONS and TONS of them in every instance. We need either transport them to Calypso to sell or TT in Arkadia. So when people loot no Arkoin and items then it often be a big loss in TT not even need to talk about the markup of key.
And Chris said instance drop robot loot is because statue classified as robots, but is ubo, Rakta and middle boss not classified animal? or it should drop some animal oil stuff or maybe hide as well. I still hope A-team can try to disable robot junk for now and replace them with some other stuff that has a real use in Arkadia NOW not in the future.
Edit: Maybe wait until next update and call it a robot update, IFN discovered some new series robots activity in Arkadia. They don't know where those robots come from. In order to help Colonist to defend our town and re-build Arkadian ancient ruins, PT-tech invent new series of Mech has different function to help colonists in hunting and mining. Sounds not bad to myself
i hope you understand the frustration, and that its not directed (in my case anyways) at you personally, but what i would like to know is, is the broker now working? if not, what is the ETA for someone at MA to do what they were supposed to do yesterday.
Also, from where i sit the robot loot seems like a design choice, in lower instances one gets loot other than robot parts, if one is re-using caly mob models/loot tables and editing them that is understandable from a design pov, but there are other models with a upright stance that do not contain the least saleable loot in this universe, if one wants some part of the arkadia experience to be popular it makes sense to make the loot table used in that experience to have some basic value to the participants, otherwise all the instances will attract is "gambling behaviour", people hoping for a item and being disappointed with the results, these people are also most likely to TT near useless loot, leading to some very unhappy people.
much the same as what happened with treasure mining up until the instances went live, and if every time the answer is "wait for the next update" or "we are asking for MA to evaluate this", most people will end up voting with their feet.
You will never hear me complain about the TT return, or the risks i take, because i know what i am doing and have the budget to stack even the most useless junk, but the lack of foresight, planning, and execution that each time it happens spoils what could be a popular or interesting addition to this universe do frustrate me. and when i am at the quarry relaxing for a few minutes after a run i see the other people returning i keep seeing the same thing happening "anyone buying treasure or ill TT it" "buy XYZ at half price so i can continue playing" etc, i think you understand that this does not make for a happy atmosphere.
to cut a long story short, what i am saying is that all it takes is a bit of common sense to understand that if you are to introduce something new do it right the first time, have the whole system working, not a drip drip of different parts over many weeks that may at some point in the future be a complete working system. Then people would of been talking about the good/fun instead, because, as with many things in this universe done half baked, it could of been fun
The problem with robot loot is not that it needs to be transported to Caly to be used, but that there is no market for it. Look at the MU and the amount sold per week. It is TT food on any planet.
I'd like to we had official statement about an arkoins vendor......For me personally, it is quite essential functionality arkoins vendor.....
sorry mi english no good....
In general, you're right, systems shouldn't be released unless they work. However, in this case, if treasure hunting, key BPs, clothing BPs (which also use treasure), and instances had all been introduced at once, 1) we would not have had any new content over the summer and 2) most of you guys would not have been able to do any instances yet because there would not be a good supply of keys.
It takes time for miners to map the planet and for crafters to discover BPs. I am glad treasure hunting was introduced before clothing BPs, and that treasure hunting was enabled before the key BPs, and that the instances were not ready until after crafters had a chance to collect key BPs and make them.
The only problem I see with instances right now is the current lack of arkoins and the junk robot loot, and the fact that the NPCs still haven't been turned on. There's nothing the A-team can do to enable them. It's completely in Mindark's hands to get those working, last I heard. If only there were a way to talk to Mindark directly and ask them why they're not activating them.......
I also think you are overestimating how fast a team the size of Arkadia Studios can put it all together so that it works without bugs (which they do). Also, the A-team doesn't have the control over loot that you think they do. It's not as simple as saying "I want x, y, and z to drop from instances".
The main problem, honestly, is Mindark. I don't think they designed EU to contain multiple planets. When they came up with beacons, they never envisioned that they would be used for anything other than robot loot. So now they have to backpedal and recode everything to allow customization by PPs. I think this is one reason why the development seems so sluggish. And they just don't understand the importance of communication and customer support... whether we're talking about end users or planet partners.
Yes, I got some last night after the vu in instance 4. Sadly, not yet done an instance that matched basic tt costs of the key plus ammo I don't think, nevermind mu and decay. Would help fill the lootpool in them if I could, but I can't afford such losses at the moment, I know others have a mix of good luck and bad luck, but to me that has always been the way of Entropia, when I'm in the down cycle, I stop, so will have to pick up instance levels slowly
I looted 2 coins last night in an instance. even with one of the people we had using an adj 97 /dante while were were all using 303 seris pistols only got like 6 or 8
This just shows again it doesn't matter how good of a job a PP does in marketing and making wonderfull things for there planet MA will always screw it up and then blame the PP for not bring in new players. HOW THE HELL DO YOU EXPECT TO KEEP NEW PLAYERS WHEN THE CORE ENTROPIA UNIVERSE SYSTEM IS THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!
I did a key 6 solo and the big chest at the end was empty
the 6 smal chests all had a global though so TT wise it was not too bad a loss but still wow
No arkoins yet for me. About 150 ped loss on instance 4. It does seem you need to hof to profit, and I am not seeing many of those.
Tomas T79x Hope opened a Treasure Chest
(container 1 of 2)
T79x received Arkoin (1182).

Mixed feelings and unsorted thoughts, sorry for the long post.
1. Did hunters really expect something different - in term of returns - from instances? Why should be return be much better than normal hunting? If it was blatantly BETTER of WORSE, it would unbalance the whole system, a thing that MA can't permit.
2. Robot parts dropping. Honestly, that is a plain brain-damaged thing. Arkadia is already full of TT junk (from a miner POV), full of things that we MUST bring back to calypso to sell because of lack of market here. But robot parts are totally insane, completetly out of the script, here in Arkadia. Must be an error, not a decision, I hope.
3. Arkoins. MA has demonstrated through years that they completely FAIL at balancing items in the beginning. EVERY single time a new item is introduced its balance is... SNAFU. In some cases it NEVER gets out in the beginning, in some cases floods in the beginning and then nothing. I'm not saying they are uncompetent, just they fail at a work that must be objectively difficult.
4. Broken/partial system put online. That is normal. We cant expect a complex system like this put online in a week altogether. But, nevertheless, leaving holes of months between slices of releases is dangerous too: treasure hunting has been USELESS for weeks. KEY crafting has been USELESS for weeks. That is not good for Arkadia.
5. Return is THE KEY for us players, keep that in mind. If you put out there something with BAD RETURNS, with everyone complaining about BAD RESULTS, you are burning it. Evaluation of returns must be well planned BEFORE, later adjustments may be too... late.
6. Side note. Everytime someone rants about things, there is a load of knights pointing out that it's MindArk fault, A-Team is not the culprit, "rant at MA not here", et al. It's like a shop owner telling a customer "your TV box is not working? well call Telefunken ( ), I only sold you that, I dont build it!". I think I dont need to explain.
Arkadia works, and from a certain point of view (mine) it is a success. But it has to leverage to something more solid; with events we have waves of players who take their chance to win, but in normal life the planet is not so crowded. Miners cant stay here for lack of buyers (many in my soc have tried to stay here for a while, unsuccessfully) or abundancy of TT food. I myself have to travel to caly to sell THERE stuff I mine HERE, and to BUY amps there. Portions of market stolen to Arkadia.
A-Team has the huge task to grow its player base, they are trying hard and with positive results, and we all can see it. Your rock but you have a long way to go
I probably did over 40 instances by now (not gonna do any anymore though). I can tell you, returns in there are much worse than from regular hunting, in all I have tried (mainly 1-3, but also 4,6 and 8). So yeah, I expected something different than 50-70% returns every single time getting only TT junk. Btw, I am mostly miner too, but did a lot of hunting too.
So far i have noticed that when i don't kill the mobs i get a decent tt % return on the cost of the key (over 90%), when i kill the mobs the % drops (off course not to 50-70%), but i can still write it down to luck from my sample size (around 20 trips).
