Inadvertantly Arkadia will open EU to Asiasoft customers, who might migrate further (spending peds in EU and not in Asiasoft games) and this seems to be a conflict of interest?
I'm not sure if you are assuming Asiasoft are marketing Arkadia for free? In effect, Planet Arkadia joins the Asiasoft stable of games (although is not exclusive to Asiasoft). Asiasoft's primary business is to market games, not to produce them. So nothing about it is done inadvertantly and there is no conflict of interest.
Naturally I was not assuming that Asiasoft did it for free, but had to ask that way to get the answer I wanted namely that they have done a far better job than... and their basic economic structure is also similar. Will be interesting to see if a synergy evolves from this. I got the impression that some of the games are produced by Asiasoft, but developed by other companies, is this so? Bit unfortunate for you that you have to pay in 2 directions. Did you start the planning of Arkadia with Asiasoft in mind from the beginning?
Perhaps I can get get answers to questions in the follow-up interview I'm doing with Dave for the June issue of the magazine. Maybe I'll start a thread where people can post their questions for when I hook up with Dave a few days after launch.
I had a look at the shops and apartments today. The apartments are great. However the shops are aweful. The ground floor being the shops have ludicrous corridors and no windows etc, they seem more like dead coffins! Please turn the ground floor into same design as apartments or something similar. Open plan i.e. as soon as you walk in your in the shop. Why do we need dumb corridors? Also in Celeste harbour the televators are not set correctly floor 0 and 1 are the same.
I havent read through completely, but I will try to start on it soon. I havent played for years and ive watched entropia evolve. Planet arkadia seems like a breath of fresh air and I'm here to make a bold suggestion. Mindark was foolish to make mindforce so linear, to the point we cant get TT chips. I want to see arkadia make that difference. I suggest there be well-balanced TT chips for mindforce of each skill category and maybe a couple variants. This will finally break the chain of requiring luck to skill in mindforce and possibly make mindark speed up their process of rebalancing. I only say luck because its all purely loot-based and for years ive been waiting to see this fixed, but it has yet to happen. I can say, without a doubt, I would easily become a loyal Arkadian at the drop of a pin if this were made a reality and im sure MANY MANY others would agree. This is both for the people and for the system. Because, with a broken system, you have broken people. I for one would like to do something im interested in without the extreme drawbacks of MU and the like. I can even look into designing specs for these chips if necessary. though my actual technical skills are lacking, i could still come up with concepts. (coming from a person who once considered investing for a pure mindforce planet.) Think about it! Edit: More Details Okay, so I've been brainstorming for this since I posted it, because to me, this is a grand opportunity. I'm guessing since you made treasure hunting a reality, you can add other skills/professions as well. That ability would make the ideas I have even more broad. As for whats already available, heres an example: Ark Gen. 1 Burn Chip: (L) Chip Available Through TT Max TT: 5 Min. Condition: 2.5% or 3% (Depending on whats needed) 0 skill required Pyro Profession Lowest Damage: 2-5/ Max Damage: 6-10 Maxes around Profession level 2-4 Synthetic Essence Use: 127 Range: 5.0 (This Will be Melee-Based [In terms of Morrowind/Oblivion 'On Touch'] Else, 20.0 Range) Attack Rate/Max hits: 27/43 to start 43/43 maxed Decay: 0.365 pec/use SIB?: Yes (probably up to 4 max profession) This is of course, just a concept. The info here was made as balanced as possible, but doesnt need to be taken exactly like this. I love feedback, so please let me know what you think!
You guys need to kick the MA ruinlancers in the nuts. No chance when you build a great planet, but those morons decide to swing the lootbat towards their homeplanet.
My impessions of the planet are not that good. First off, it was quite annoying to find out that the treasure hunting planet does not have treasure hunting included yet. Then the mobs did not look really detailed, the textures seemed very simple. Those crafting books look awful as hell and are way to big (even bigger than those on calypso when fully filled). And the map...first think I thought was that it is just one giant blob. Then the terrain...it really looked a bit dull. Ok, a miners paradise maybe and flat, but something more "organic" was missing. WAs really not expecting a complete new planet with everything on it, but surely a bit more.
Dave, Can you guys please talk to loot balancing team from MA. The loot really really is a problem. getting 70% returns at best on cycling 5kped a day or more is just terrible. The worst of it is that 99% of the stuff wont sell on auction so it has to be tt'd and half the stuff we cant craft with or use. I know I said this after MA nerfed the loot 1 month after ark opened, but the problem is still here, and the population will not grow exponetnally with such bad returns and unusable loot. when hunting huon for example its like hunting a Levi from caly on land but it loots like shinkiba. there hasnt been a loot over 1k on it in over a month, and i get more no loots and 1 eye oil and a couple paints or components in most of the windows. On another note. I am not sure if its just me but it seems there is a lag in certain areas on the LA with the young huon, i hit certain areas where gun freezes up and i get a huge amount of fails and misses. Some other players have said they get the same, and others have said they dont. I am a bit puzzled on that one. The economy. I wanna help fix it, but not sure what I can do to help. I put things on auction, under normal mu and they dont even sell, i end up eating the auction fee and then having to TT the items. Any suggestions. I feel like MA purposly sets crap loot to the planet partners. It seems kinda like a conflict of interst to me. MA owns and runs caly, and the loot pool for all planets. I wonder why caly has better loot?? hmm. just a thought. I think the balancing team is tilting things a little one sided. but what do i know. Looking forward to new changes and ideas. Any suggestion to help my loot return would be great. TY
Not sure this is quite the right area for this comment, but would someone PLEASE tell me that I'm NOT the only one that seems to be suffering from a massive # of disconnects since the last MAJOR VU? Some days, it seems that I can't stay connected for more than an hour without suffering a DC, then having to wait to log back in, while my AVI is getting it's ass kicked for the delay time before I can try again. There were a couple of days when it seemed that I was getting dc'ed about every 10 - 15 minutes, to the point where I said "Screw it" and played a couple of VN's instead for the rest of the day... This DC issue is getting to be EXCEPTIONALLY distressing... Any thoughts from the amazing A-team on this, or should I drop a little non-nuclear message in MA's inbox instead?
it is for sure not the right thing to bump a 4 year old thread with an offtopic issue. in my opinion offtopic because it's a universe wide issue only mindark can look into. anyways, it may be worth discussing in a new thread!
If you haven't yet, send in a support case as just like the Prophet says this seems to be a platform issue, and hopefully fixed in the upcoming VU. But in the meantime create a new thread and maybe someone have a temporary solution to help you with the issue.
I'll give it a few days more, testing the time and # of DC's I have. I found out AFTER posting, that my ISP is doing upgrades in my area, and don't want to blame the platform if it was actually my isp's fault... If I see a significant # of DC's, after the upgrade work is done, I'll drop a Support case on MA's site for it... WITH Data to back it up. That way it's not just "oh, she's bitchin' again..." *giggles* As for the necro post complaint... Considering the TITLE of this thread, I don't think it should EVER be complained about someone asking or posting something here, if it could be of importance. As for the platform wide portion, since I only log in on Planet Arcadia, how would *I* have known it's platform wide, until I ask? Hmm?
