Okay, so to side step a bit, but will help resolve the pirate issue ... let me ask ...

If they can band together and shot down space travelers, why is it that space travelers do not band together in numbers so they can out number the pirates? Why is it that travelers alway travel solo, and be the duck in a duck hunt?

I don't want to make what Stagger said look like as if I support what he is doing. But he is stating the same as I, just in a different way. To me, "come prepare" simply means travel in numbers.

Ask yourselves ... Can one quad take out 2-3 VTOLs? Can 2 quads take out 3-4 quads? Think about it, what can you do to make space travel safer?

The reason people don't travel in packs is because of expense and convenience. If I want to fly to another planet, it might be some time before I find others who want to fly there as well. And if I don't know my traveling companions, I could very well be setting myself up for a surprise attack in mid-flight.

This coming week, ASF is planning to start making a scheduled, protected convoy flights (round trip) between Arkadia and Calypso, and anyone (except known pirates, of course) is welcome to join us. I doubt we can find available pilots to do it every day, but we definitely want to try to hit the days when there are no scheduled mothership flights.

Yes Normandie is very safe..and they have different pilots also that have access at different times now who are on also..Yay!!..Just PM John Black Knight and he will tell pilots to be around for you Kitten.If you would like to skill on MS wont cost you a thing to fly either!. Sorry to hear about being shot down,happened to me on my way back from NI wedding there last weekend in a Quad I was in.

 

Sure - great idea - but how do trawelers get in contact? A board? in here? Hmm there is nothing much to the Pyrate strategy - one sit tight and watch at SS, tell his two men out there when target leave and in wich direction. You look back an it seems safe enough. After some 10 sec in PVP zone you will meet them - comming towards you in high speed shooting great as you're alone against two - but if you're 9 against 2? well well well )
So? How could you imagine a "convoy" to be gathered?

Simple join a group that has regular convoy flights you can also join in on a advertiesed convoy like the ASF did some time ago or you could hire a group that does booked convoys or escort flights. My soc "Rekkies" offer such a service however its mostly booked flights that we will do and only on certain times, for now we are however not fully operational as most of the members is bussy with IRL stuff. We expect to be fully operational in January sometime and will reliese our details and terms then.

 

That really, really REALLY sucks Kitten hope it wasn't something too serious!!

I'd argue that if anything lootable space allows planets to keep different market values, but thats maybe a discussion for another thread
