Oh you can bet they are! The team that built and run this planet are very responsive to everything and aware of what it is this community wants. That is one of the reasons I have made this web site and Arkadia my new home.
Actually, the problem lies with the jealousy of many, not the ego's of most of those honored. But yeah, don't do it, you'll never hear the end of it.
I agree with this; I'd rather have them tie into the storyline rather than some random society that is here.
I disagree with naming them after people or socs that don't match the story or are improperly named for an official anything (Building, land, outpost) in real life or virtual life. If they want to get players involved in the story of Arkadia. Create events. If you become a part of history then you get to make the name but it has to be approved by Imperial Fleet military which is played by our AI counterparts.. the Arkadian developers.
I am with you on that Smoerble. Unfortunately, no matter how nice the most of us Arkadia Colonists can be, some can turn into arrogant ego trippers (aet) for sure! Nobody's perfect! The idea is cool though, I'd LOVE to have a TP named after Arkadia Pioneers But let the A-Team decide. They surely have some plan, I believe in them cheers, .LeZ.
I will agree and disagree with people in this thread. Naming the outposts after back story characters or socs would be a cool idea and get people more involved in the story. Have a contest where the high loot during a contest period determines the name of the outpost, provided the avatar belongs to a soc. Or sell the naming rights to a soc who puts up some ped. Or randomly select names out of a hat, provided the soc has been around for 3 years or more and has 25 members. I agree that some may get inflated egos...they have them anyway. Half the places I visit every day are likely named after egomaniacs, they just happen to be dead for a long time. I'm sure I products from companies every day that are run by or founded by jerks. That's life. If you won't go to a tp because you don't like the soc it's named after, that's your choice. If a soc gets taken over by jerks or goes extinct, that's life, things change over time. It will just be another aspect of the back story.
As said before, loot contests..... we all know which group would win that..... Dedication and involvement (is it english?)! This is what makes a community and a living planet! Thx for making such a thread, this is indeed what makes ppl involved by thinking about such things and sharing opinions Arkadians are great ppl!
