Dear team Arkadia, gonna make it short and sweet ... Love your planet, hate night ... Guys, you are 100 times better vs. MA, Caly etc. so take a minute and try hunting when its night on your beautiful planet ... Notice something, right, its difficult. Mobs are a lot harder to spot, bars are a lot harder to drag etc. ... In shorts, its annoying and not just a little ... I propose the following 1. Constant day ... 2. Make it adjustable ... thanks
I use a scope to make it easier to spot mobs at night. Seems to increase the light levels when zoomed.
Maybe night time is Ark-Team's gentle reminder to hunters that there are other professions out there, or that maybe they should take a break now (PS: this is humour)
Few years back the same problem was on calypso and MA changed it. I don't know the deal with Arkadia exactly, but I do know that you cannot change the settings in windowed mode.
here's a thought... Since pretty much all armor has a helmet/faceplate that covers your eyes, wouldn't the night vision goggles already be built INTO the armor? So all you would have to do is activate it somehow.
I'd love to see a set of night vision goggles then the night time would be very much more interesting....Also what about the possibility of a nocturnal mobs?
I knew that I've made a thread about rare creatures that would be difficult to spot, I just didn't remember on wich forum I made that thread. So, of course, I spend the first 30+ minutes searching on Calypso Forum and then found it in 1 minute here. Idea: extremely rare creature , seeing that it's just over two years old, I didn't want to negro that thread ... How cool would it be if we could get different vision goggles? 1) Goggles R+ : extended radar radius 2) Goggles N+ : night vision 3) Goggles E+ : better able to spot rare/ elusive mobs 4) Goggles O+ : night vision with extended radar radius during day-hours 5) Goggles A+ : extended radar radius with better ability to spot rare/ elusive mobs 6) Goggles S+ : every ability I simply fear now that a) my brain is wandering in directions that will never come through, b) if such goggles & creatures would be implanted that I would never have the PEDs and/or ability to obtain even the simpliest of goggles. It's nice to daydream ...
I would have to say I would prefer night to be a little less dark or much shorter night cycle. But I suspect the game engine has its restrictions. Using a scope does help at times. But night vision goggles crafted on Arkadia would indeed be quite a winner! Expecially using Arkadian materials.
I can reveal at this point that I have implemented nocturnal ambient sound in Celeste Harbor that will be included in the coming VU. My intention is to do this as much as possible all over Arkadia. For example is the ambition to make the forests and the jungle sounding different during day and night.
Hello Lars, thanks for answering (sort of ish) ... Any statement on something that is far from perfect though? I haven't logged in for over a week now cause everytime I do, its dark, I get annoyed and log off again ... I don't care for night vision goggels and sounds (I play on mute anyway) but I do care for an easy hunting environement which was the reason in the first place to permantly settle over from Caly as your spawns are denser, less mixed and the IFN terminals hold all challenges (and I don't have to run around from broker to broker to get them etc.) ... Soooo ... could you guys address this please?
One trick is to turn up your brightness and play around with the settings in-game. Worked for most who have tried it.
easiest, at least for me, is to press a button on my screen. my display has some presets like landscape, theatre, gamemode and even a nightmode so i can very esay tweak my game to make mobs better visible at nighttime.
My guess is that you guys are working on this, but these days Arkadia nights are a bit dark and playing with brightness will not help since we do have Arkadia's very cool and bright days. Don't get me wrong, I am a big fan of nights..just a tad to dark in the nights with the use of the dark textures of the planet.
