Wanted to share my weekends experience on ARKADIA.

I didn't went to Arkadia in first day, but waited when i will have few days off, to explore as much as i can. As result i explored whole continent, got 50 TP's i think so far.
So... generally speaking i liked most of things, BUT.... there was few which ones pissed me off kinda a lot, without them, i probably would say - "I will stay there forever"

I like design, i liked huge open areas, which ones was free from mobs - i hope some part will stay open or very low populated for miners, not like Eudoria, where you need special knowledge or skill to drop few hundred bombs without spending ammo or armor...
I like mobs who arn't aggroing you, being million miles away from you, here i mean from other side of radar... Such model for sure suits both - hunters and miners. That can attract a lot of peoples from both of those professions.

Then comes those few things which ones made me think i never will come back here, or at least till those things will be fixed...
    1. Mess of ores/enmaters. Holly fck... thats just sick when i, by droping ~50 bombs have 15+ different types of minerals , specialy when i try to stick to small area. I dont even speak about roaming bigger area... that's just insane. If i need to spend 5-10 minutes near storage to rafine all that crap and trying to sort it out... and after like 500 peds run i dont have even a single stack over 50 peds to place in auction... tbh - that can kill wish to make other run for sure. Then better i spend that time in Amethera and mine proper area where i will find 3-4 ore types and i see some result of my work...
I really hope that's not new economical model made by MA, since making game more and more expensive was always tendency. After those 3 days of playing i have around 1k peds in storage, but nothing from that can be placed in auction w/o placing really small stacks there. So - as i told such model most likely will make me leave to old mining fields.

    2. Lyst/Oil almost EVERYWHERE!!! I found only 1 spot where lyst was kinda rare. And doesn't matter what you use - finder 105 without depth enchanters or VRX3k with 2 depth enchanters.... thats plain text bulshit when i finding lyst/oil all the time with search average depth over 1100m. You really need to think about it. I didn't raised my skills up to mine lyst/oil - that i can do with tt finder and minimal skills.

    3. Bugged extractors .. seriously, whats going on? You launching a new planet - advertising it for months if not even longer... and then BAH - you launch it, and in very first week you almost knocking out whole profession from exploring and doing business on your planet.... Running competition on Alienware stuff in meantime was kinda nice and cute, when people who are miners are again left behind without real chance to compete.
I understand MA and FPC never had and most likely never will have any normal public relationship. Secrets, being silent, ignorance always was theyr way to aproach customers. Why you going same way? Or it was in contract rules? If you make planet - you must follow same way???
For more then 10+ days mining tools are bugged - OK its bad, there was patch who bugged them, so why there wasn't patch which one roll back that bug? You are big and significant partner ... why you allowed this to stay so? I understand we mortals, cant get any answer from MA about this except - "We are working on it, thanks for understanding, that will be fixed soon as we can etc". But that didnt solve situation. I hardly remember when hunting was almost impossible for such long time...
I believe you can just call MA and ask explanation and terms when it will be fixed and then give some information away in your webpage. Believe me - you will gain a lot of credits and trust from your customers by doing so!!! At least mine - for sure...
Conspiracy and ignorance was MA/FPC face for all those years, don't follow same way !!!

So, if not those 3 things: mineral mess, lyst/oil everywhere + bugged extractors, I would say i can stay here for long - right now... i dont know - most likely i will spend my next weekend in game on places where i don't find so much different minerals in so short period of time on which ones i need to spend shitload of time to get them in my inventory :surrender:

I agree the mix of minerals and enmatters in one area is too varied. That seems very messy. I Also agree with morse that this planet is much more miner friendly than calypso, which we like alot. Don't ever change that..Low agro mobs all confined to areas is very cool. I am hoping the lyst and oil will calm down a bit and the other newer types of resources will pick up in popularity and pick up in MU so they can show up more in our finders. Bugged finder and resource extractors are absolutely a pain and must be fixed hopefully sooner than later. Many in our society will not mine until they are fixed.

I agree wholeheartedly and much better put than i did in my thread.

Some answers would be great Dave, as if this is intentional, or not intentional, or if you need to look in to it. Or if MA have complete control and you have no idea about it? Anything

I am a full time miner, and i will untimately go to where the best mining spots are be that here at arkadia or else where. I would love for it to work here at Arkadia, just the proffessionalism and communication alone is incredible :)

    Fingers crossed

EDIT: obviously extractors are completely out of your control

I'm finding the same as the OP. Lyst/Oil is very abundant. The hit rate per drop is higher than I have ever seen BUT the claims are very small. I don't mind that there is a "mineral mess", I rather enjoy finding new and interesting resources. Refining it all down is another thing entirely. I've burned my refiner down a few times.

The only other problem I have is lack of traders. I guess it's too new and some resources are yet undefined as to their value. This makes traders wary to buy...but this problem will solve itself for sure.

Overall I'm happy on Arkadia. I won't be going back to Calypso.

    Cheers!

I'm just a noob miner with noob skills, so I'm happy with any claims I get...I take it's just skilling, but for those who already have skills to do better than mining lyst/oil over 1000m deep, yes, I can understand the frustration for that.

But like Isclay, I'm quite optimistic about mining Arkadia and no, not going back to Calypso ;)

    Intriguing.

From another miners point of view, (I can't comment on oil, I stay with prospecting)

I have found quite a variety of minerals when I have been mining, although I am using a F-Finder 106.

I would say at a guess about 30% of my finds have been lyst with the rest being quite a mix, I'd say about 13 different minerals, with like 6+ of the new types. Although I do note that sometimes I've done a wandering run and the entire run has been lyst (I run with 1000 probes).

I do use Level 8 finders however (whoever is providing those on market, THANKYOU!)

Just a note the bug with mining is universal atm, if you're refering to depth and the drills slow usage at the moment. I have swapped to a TT drill until it has stopped to lessen the loss of ped on waste.

Hey Ace, hope you don't mind me replying here. I read your post about finding too many minerals in one area, all I can say is you might need to keep going and study your results more.

Regarding the mining extractors, I have passed on player concerns to MA - now it's up to them.

The prevalence of Lyst/oil should settle down, seems to be something to do with bringing the new minerals and enmats into the system are taking time to build up.

The extractors thing is a MA problem, not just Arkadia lol.

And as Daid said it seems like new planets are initially always full of lyst/oil and it takes a bit for the spawns to settle down and everything..

Well it is quite simple actually. Demand and supply question. Lyst is always in high demand same as Oil. The new stones are only used on Arkadia BP so crafters need them. If crafters do more crafting the demand of the new stones get higher and the system qill tune the supply then. Ospra is still hard to find but i get some claims. So in time the system will tune itself for a good balance

Many many thanks for getting back on this subject

As for the many ores in one area, since then i have tried quite a few different areas. And ignoring the abundance of lyst phenomenon (spelling?) the last few thank fully have only had a few different ones. Nothing like i experienced in that first area.

I am very analytical when it comes to mining and with new areas i pride myself in details i take.

So with that in mind, when i have finished searching out the rest of the planet, i will visit that first area again and see what changes if any have accured. And if you are interested i will post those results

Of course extractors are out of your control, fingers crossed MA do something about it soon, as the tt extractros are killing me lol

As for the prevelance of lyst/oil, i suppose time will tell. And if this is true, which from others posts it seems to be, then that does give an interesting insight into the loot pool for mining. Of course you cannot comment on that

I still have many many bombs to drop

Once again thanks again for your timely response

Thanks for answers. I am just wondering - why MA ognoring so significant problem about those extractors. Specially now, when now planet are launching...
You will wonder - I am full time miner, but i never been on RT or NI, cause first impressions of peoples was kinda bad... tbh - not planing to go there soon, I visited Arkadia because first impressions and responses from friends was good. And i am not only one i know who never was on RT or NI :D
I just think its very important to make first impression about planet as good as you can... that's why i was surprised... and i am still surprised, why 1 small bug which one take 1 days to apear takes SOOOOOOO long to fix. Of course lack of information about current situation and lack of official comments when whole "industry" - mining are basically down surprises me.. thats stone ofcourse are more in MA's garden .... but i believe Arkadia guys can push MA here a bit :fineprint:

Cause for full time miners game are basically unusable...

P.S. with fixing things soon :D

Yes, atm mining is frustrating. I decided to stop doing it until the system is repaired, or it is confirmed that this is how it should be. From my understanding, using a bugged system is called exploit and you can have your account terminated for that...

Anyway, about the mining mix, all I can say from my experience and friends experience is that the areas with one type of mix are rather small and the only larger places without lyst and a limited number of resources are on lands atm. And I said I would not share tips anymore... stupid me. :D

    Awesome response.

The funny thing about this is that I came on the first day and didn't really have that big of a problem with lyst and oil. My first 25 ped run amounted to:
    Wenrex Stone 22
    Typonolic Steam 10
    Ospra Stones 219
    Lysterium Stone 353
    Acid Root 2
    Zulax Stones 5
    Zolphic Oil 10

Ace seems to be right. Entropia Tracker captured a HUGE list of ores on the 8 Coins property alone. http://entropiatracker.com/landarea.asp?mode=viewLA&LAID=66

That definitely means that the servers are split into smaller zones for ore and enmatter finds.
