Hi Guys, I have to apologize that we missed this in the update notes. The engine power of the hover pods and grip was adjusted in order to stop hoverpods from climbing out vertical walls and bringing the hoverpods back into balance with the system. The Top speed of the hoverpod has not changed. The MK3 was actually highly unbalanced due to its high speed and that terrain did not hinder it at all. The climbing of vertical walls was an unintentional effect from stabilizing the hover pods handling in the past. Regards, Chris
This was the fun of the Hoverpod and WHY I PAID so much to get all the ones I have so far! Now I can't even drive it more or less without it getting stuck every where. This is so uncool in so many ways. Now I hope MA did this and not the A-Team, If you read what you typed, it's kind of BS since we have flying vehicles here. If we can use them to get on top of hills, then sorry, we should be able to do the same with Hoverpods.
Sorry Chris, you didn't balanced it, you simply ruined beautiful vehicle. And even not "climbing" the issue - acceleration, control is. MK3 can't starting like a turtle, and even can't go in simple hills. If you will try to drive in some bumpy surface - you stuck. And the MAJOR issue - existing STATS was changed. Very bad precedent. For sure there wasn't problem in "climbing" - the vehicle was simple perfect for mining, and for sure MA wasn't like it. Now it's a complete junk.
I have to agree. I paid a premium for the first mk3 ever sold because it had great stats. And it was fun to drive, especially after the recent improvements in stability. Two or three weeks ago, I took it out on the race track and had the most fun I've had in a long time. It was a blast jumping off cliffs, flying back up again, the good maneuverability was great. But I just took it out now and it's like riding a donkey that slowly gets up to speed if the hills aren't too steep. The only difference between the mk3 and the freebie hoverpod is it goes faster after a while. It's just not fun to drive anymore. I would probably TT it out of annoyance if I hadn't paid 400 ped for it when it first came out. Now it will probably just sit in storage as a storage container... and too bad it only holds 24 items. I was thinking to make some more long vehicle crafting runs to try and get some mk3 bps. Now, not much point. Let's be honest... the hoverpod, while a cute little thing, is not a work vehicle. You can't use it for mining or hunting or carrying passengers or going into space. The only thing going for it is fun. You remove the fun and it has no more use. (Can't carry passengers, big cargo, can't fly, can't maneuver, can't go up hills, rolls down hills when parked.) Sorry to be negative, but the stat changes didn't bring it in line with other vehicles, it just removed the only point of owning it, in my opinion. And I'm very disturbed about the changing of the stats as well... just on principle. What's next? Will my armor stats be changed? My weapons? My attributes and skills?
Just my MK3's I paid over 200ped each. Mostly because they were so much fun to drive. When the first Hoverpod came out, I retired my chopper to use the MK1 then MK2 then my first MK3 and when that died due to mobs attacking bought my second MK3 since they were just a blast to drive around in. Nothing like being able to jump 'em off hills. Now. Well, I'm using my chopper again and the funny thing about it all? I'm saving money since THEY DO NOT DECAY!!! So again I hope this was an MA doing that you can work out with them to fix and not your idea.
Glad I didn't bid on the MK3 that sold on caly recently before this messy change. Now I got me a Neteller Buggy instead.
