Do it if you want, it's not cheating as there's no rule saying you can't. However, it will cost you more than the prize you might win.

 

I would, pretty much, cycle all my salary this month dry in this week if imp manta had a chance to drop (figuratively. Assuming 80% return (lowballing) with my current setup there´s not enough time to cycle it dry. but just to put the point out there)

 

Any info if the magurg breeder missions giving evade will be available?

 

Cat 1 mobs have just 110 hp.... high dps gun would give crazy overkill . Huge losses

High dps could be low dmg high reload..

 

Piron pbp-12/rage 10 give max dam 29, av damage per hit 21.75, dps 28.6, dpp 2.9 (before MU). Around 5 shots per kill and average 3.5 seconds per kill.

 

I very much agree. Now that I've thought about it, this is likely why I won't be competing. Cat 1 is the only place I could see myself having a shot at a prize, and my HP is too high for that (not to mention people will probably be pulling out the good ol' alt avatars )

Cat 2 and 3 will be roughly a 50/50 distribution of all the medium/high level hunters that know they have no chance in Cat 4 vs. Messi/Star/Etc. and I simply can't compete with most of them at my level (36 Sniper/135 HP).

If the evade missions are still active (seems like they should be) I might still grind a few mobs in Cat 2 and see if the loot is worth sticking around for. That's about it.

 

It is precisely how the top cat 1 prize was won in the last Gold Rush. Its value far outweighs the extra cost, they were well aware of it and able to put it in. I could witness it underway, standing right next to superior equipment being carried into the lowest instance.

No, the Category 1 Gold Rush prizes were won by high skilled players because there was no level restriction. Now there is, it's a completely different scenario. And anyway, the prizes in Gold Rush were way better than they are here, making it far more worthwhile to sacrifice eco in favour of dps.

 

Which is precisely what I said. Someone who could kiill these things with just 1-2 shots would leave everybody else without the trace of a chance and know it, since ranks are getting thinner up there. Now they can still dominate the next category, but that's life. Or is it?

Maybe all but the highest category should be hp limited: After 125 for cat 1 the next logical caps would be 150 for cat 2 and 175 for cat 3. At these levels and commonly corresponding weapon skills it is quite normal and easy, but still a little bit of work to hunt 1k and 2k hp mobs, respectively. It would take pretty heavy chipping to go out of the ordinary with weapon skills, which normally doesn't make much sense without hp to match so I reckon it pretty unlikely someone would do that just to gain access to an easier category in a specific event. Does this make sense?

 

If there were more events like this, say one a month, with Gold Rush being the main annual one, and a dozen or so other Golden Week events like this one, then they could add another restriction: one prize per three months. People can still participate for bonuses like skill pills, but the top prize positions could not be claimed by anyone who has won prize in the last 2 or 3 months. (Similar to how radio stations restrict call-in winners)

 

I'm looking forward to this. I'd really like to have an apartment but, as Kikki wrote, it's also good for getting the mission on those Magurg and getting skillpills. Btw, I'd also prefare 1 hour pills.

I think the prizes are quite fine here for this one-week event.

 

Is there some reason why with 2 hours to go we still haven't had an answer about whether the Evade missions will still be available? I know you've said it will be Magurg Breeders, so the assumption would be that they would still count for the mission, but it would be good to get a confirmation of this, and whether it will be possible to get the repeatable mission after finishing it.

 

i guess if you already have the magurg breeder mission you can turn in once that is not repeatable as i have tested discarding the "magurg breeder 4" mission and ifn terminal don't give me the mission after waiting 1 hr as it gave me in last gold rush. So if you are lucky and have the mission you can do that once

ARRGGGH!! Make it 24 then. This time of day is PERFECT for me, but 12 hours is NOT, and based on what happened last time, it's crucial to be there right at start when all the points come out!!!
