    Hi Gang,

Well after posting on Facebook that my card was still ticking after 11 years of usage... the batteries finally gave up on me today LOL. I'm guessing I jinxed it by posting on that thread. Anyhow, I was wondering if the 2 very flat round batteries that the reader contains are easily replacable. Also, forgot to look before pulling them out, so is there a sense to put them in?

If any of you have insites on this, any input would be greatly appreciated :) I'll probably go to the pharmacy or to "The Source" to see i they have replacement batteries.

    Keep me posted.

    Cheers!

Yes they are...I just had mine replaced just a few days ago. Yes I went to BatteriesPlus due to a small fact that I found I didn't have small enough tools to take it a part (ok also I just woke up). But they said they were very common batteries which of course sorry to say I forgot what I was told.

You can save alot of money over those pricey retail stores by just punching the number from the battery into ebay, can get a whole sheet for a buck.

The important keyword is the CR2016, brand doesn't matter unless you explicitly want to buy a name brand.

    Vintage PE card! [IMG]
Looks well seasoned, the card number must be somewhere in the 3 digits?
Eleven years for one set of batteries: now that's eco.

Here is a link for a good battery guide with pictures.

WOOT card reader is back in working action... but lost one of the tiny micro screws in the change-up process. Can't wait to log back in tonight to see what the VU has brought :)

Update: if you replace the batteries and still nothing...you may have to take it completely apart and blow out everything. Took three cleanings to get it to work this morning. At the end I had to take it all apart and blow out every part of it..and at the end it works. And sorry forgot to think about streaming it :(

Not sure what ur point is m8? But if U think about it maybe its not that bad idea after all ;)
I did add hehe after, as u saw since u gave me a funny face.
But seriosly i not a techi that like to pic things apart i ewen question if that is alowed here ? It would take me some time to do, first find me a battery and then replace the old one.
I gess ur thought was that buying the Reader from MA is more expensive then do the replace ur self?
To me its much easier to order a new one, then i know it will work when i need it, its not only the battery that use to be the problem mostly its the contacts at least for me .
About the cost, i waste 1000`s of dollars in this game so 100 ped isnt anything i would be botherted about hehe
    Cheers
