Because giving people the chance to pick and choose what they want to win, and getting components BPs out into the economy, are both far more important than people stopping every now and then.
I'm guessing its because you can't make the bigger stuff without having access to the smaller stuff and you can't have the smaller stuff if there are no blueprints around for people to craft them for you??
Very happy to have won my first BP. No idea what it is worth but then I wasnt planning on selling. Of course I cant actually use it yet because I dont have the right skills but thats just incentive to start crafting armour as well.
Maybe come up with an idee that will move a lot of big crafters to arkadia and still have prizes that noob crafter can win in combetition with the uber crafters - and not just have the 15 min of globals.
You can craft on any planet, but since you'll probably need some Arkadian resources, you will want to go to Arkadia if you'll be doing a lot of crafting. (Don't transport stackables through space, pirates are watching the Caly - Ark route very carefully.)
Sure don't see a big problem there. Same number of bps to be distributed. 1. Don't give order! Just say overy global of 175 or higher wins a bp. The orders know only people from Arkadia thats all. That wouldn't stop some crafters and wait for the right bp to come! 2. Sort bps and say highest global wins bp nr 1 and lowest global wins 174th bp. The order of bps might be open for the public as they won't be able to wait for the right time. 3. Global from Gas Plug wins bp 1,2,3,4,5 (order depends on size of globals) etc.
If tracker put a couple hour delay on listing the winners I think this event would move along much faster.
Congratz to A-Team for this event - I like their approach of running a hunting and a mining event in parallel - defo a good approach to jump start the economy. Found out fast gettin a 175+ glob on Ark is not so easy, prolly cause there are not many bps that can generate that easily based on cost/click even on full cond. However, one weak point - MINING! I guess u thought providing a crafting event will stimulate the miners - guess what ? it didn't really, at least not so far  ... Having a hard time getting resources I need to craft not to mention some minerals went to INSANE prices (see Veda) and others dissapered from AH (see Wenrex) :soangry: Just a thought ... maybe providing a mining event in parallel (something like the hunting one, where prizes can be nice UL mining tools for instance or even UL amps) could help. Few days in the crafting event and only 10 prizes claimed ?!? Defo something is not working fine ... existing bps on one hand, but my guess is people are not eager to click a bp with a tt food result when most of the mats required cost 150%+ ...
Crafters who arent crafting due to the cost of ingredients should maybe be out there mining? I'm crafting up a chain of items, reusing what I craft before I eventually TT. Oh and if I am gonna TT something I may as well add some colour and texture on the way out...
All-in-one players are not many - most specialize in something and that allows for different roles. U don't see the big crafters mining often not the other way around and makes sense, otherwise a full economic chain would dissapear (talking of traders & resellers as well as hard-core miners & hunters). I did more mining than crafting this trip on Ark as my tracker can testify, but doubt many will do that (only time needed to learn where to mine for the mats they want is enough to discourage) ... and yes, chaining crafting is the only way to go when u have a 90% TT economy - but hope that will change, defo Ark is on the right path atm imho
For me personally: LL bps are expensive and hard to loot, I'm only going to click those on condition if I know I have a good shot at making back what I lose by wining a good unL bp. For the few unL bps I currently have, the cost of materials has gone through the roof, again making me wait until I think i have a good chance of wining a good bp. Events like this are a great idea as the lack of unL bps is one major point holding arkadia back, but I and many others are waiting until a good bp comes up before we risk clicking.
i see a couple of good suggestions and i see a couple of bad ones... the suggestion to let the biggest globals pick their blueprints is a bad one... why? uber crafters would just swoop right in and the regular joe can kiss his chances of getting a rare blueprint bye bye. letting the highest metal item crafted pick the first metal bp, and the highest weapon crafted pick first weapon bp would do the exact same thing, so it would still be bad for the big croud. i have seen many big crafters say "ok, next up is a crappy blueprint, im done untill that changes", and everything stands still... you should have showed us the list of blueprint drops, but let the blueprints you can win be either random or hidden from the players. this event was supposed to get crafting a boost and get more people to arkadia, but people now know when to craft and when to halt everything while they wait for something that is worth it. also... from the client loader "every global over 175 ped achieved while manufacturing Arkadian Items on Arkadia will be eligible for a newly issued Unlimited Arkadian Blueprint. " i see alot of "not at all new" blueprints in the list, and a couple of duplicates blueprints. shouldnt the "newly issued blueprints" be new?
True svena, this hunting of a good bp is another aspect to consider, but I don't mind that simply because I prefer such kind of transparency rather than a "surprise prize" approach ... this way u can see ingame no monkey business is going on
I'm very lucky to be noobish and ignorant about crafting. Am utterly thrilled when I win a bp though I am clueless as to value and purpose. I won a what? yay team.
Hi, think it's a really appreciated event. I doubt I'll win a BP, but I'll try with my nOObish skills And I hope this event will help us miners, too, to get our finds sold. Someone asked: Sanctuary I guess, right? Or has something changed recently? Have a good time, and win a phat BP!
