Right now it is possible, and quite common, for a mob to spawn directly beside you and attack, ideally this should not happen, the mob should always spawn outside of the agro range.
While I would totally love to see something like that, I don't think is very realistic to expected - forces server to do extra calculation and can become quite tricky in an area with lots of people (think an event for example).
I do understand the frustration with it, because I assume you have been ganked a few times by those pesky Oratan Prospector respawns . However though..... if they would always spawn outside of aggro range then wouldnt it become really annoying if a certain area has 2 many people hunting? Because the spawns would just be such a long walk away. Also I can totally see teamhunting becomming slightly different then, make a small hunting team with as light armor as possible to hunt something specific, then have 6 people form a "Spawn-shield" around the team so they will never be caught be suprise since nothing would spawn inside the "spawn-shield" you would setup. I can see some ways to that could become more of an issue (although it sounds like fun though )
Efficiency wise it wouldn't be that bad, heck I pull it off in crappy ol Java with virtually no performance hit. As for Wauspaus' point however I can see that, perhaps make mobs not agro without attack for a certain time after spawning? Just long enough to get out of dodge. Also... Oratan are the least of my ganking concerns, I've dealt with far worse than a pickaxe lol.
Yeah, that would be better - have them respawn like now, but just have a no aggro/attack debuff for 15-30 seconds.
Well it might be nice to not get ninja'd but I don't agree. If mobs spawn randomly within an area then some will inevitably appear inside agro range. If there is more than 1 player or group of players hunting in a nearby location then where would the mob spawn? Spawn out of agro for you and onto someone else? Nah - buckle up and get a bigger stick
I dont agree with this fred, I have seen people from across all lvls having some doubts about the way creatures respawn during their hunts. From indeed small Oratan Prospectors to Feffox (probably even higher but you get the jist of it). So the respawn system is a nuissance to a full blown screw over sometimes, I do agree that something needs to be changed to it, maybe indeed the "no aggro" rule should be applied.
Hey no problem - always nice to have a friendly disagreement in the pursuit of trying to improve the game. I've had high level mobs spawn on me many times and once or twice it even caused me to drop bunny currants and I sooo hate soiling my armour. So yes, it is a nuisance but I got used to it.
It is something the player base has been asking for for a while, or at the least vented frustrations about it on the PCF. And it's been going on for quite a while. My suggestion is to just make this topic on the PCF, because it's an MA coding thing and there is unfortunately nothing that the A-team can do for you on this one.
