The "easy" spawn at Fearless took about four hours to clear. Would have been faster with more people, of course, but there were only a few of us left by the end. The "hard" spawn at Courageous was still going on, and I don't know how long after that it lasted.
i know,my wife was there also, but that is why i ask i would like to know if they are only designed to loot in these wave events or if it is also possible to get thme in normal loot i have like 1500 globals registered at arkadia,if i knew nice ul stuff is possible to drop,id return to hunt arkadia again(and yes,i know of the TEn asi)
Still wondering how long the event lasts. I had to go to bed after 3.5 hours as it was 2:30 am. Would like to last the whole event next time but am wondering about planning for meals and such.
It's my understanding that the duration and progress of the event is under the control of the official avatars you see at the event. Of course I should mention, for those who don't know, the loot is out of their control since they are A-team avatars, not MA. HUGE improvements made this event compared to last time. Servers were fine, not many DCs, started right on time, and no confusion of what was going on thanks to the new "official" orange text. A few more details to iron out of course, such as mobs blasting into orbit, and maybe tailoring the lower level event a little more toward the newbies, but it was great. People naturally focused on the boss mobs until one of the miners came out with a huge HOF. After that people went for them too. About halfway thru the event I was saying, this is going great, now all we need are some cool items to loot... and an hour or two later MA turns on the loot tap full blast with at least 4 discoveries, including armor, a UL crossbow, a non-SIB tagger, and the biggest UL Herman ever looted (90+dps), plus some big ESI and I'm sure some stuff that people didn't mention. Not everyone got cool stuff, of course, but a lot did drop. Not a huge surprise really, when you consider these were the biggest mobs every hunted on ark.
Damn I went to bed too early and missed all the fun discos :surrender: I have to say though, the best part was that godly official regen field chip. Nothing like having a mod fapper for every one there
Well after looking thru threads for what dropped I assume it all went to the uber spawn and was all taken back to Caly instantly as usual. I know I was at the mid spawn and gave up after way to many NL's and fagmint drops from the bigger mobs there. I spotted the first Boss mob there and marked the spot for the cavalry to come help with. That didn't even global. Add that to (although very cool and fun mobs to hunt) the bigger oratan miners this event was not as fun as the first. Having different damage types mixed in that big a size didn't work out so well as you needed to change gear when you happened to get jumped by the opposite mob you were geared for. Hopefully tomorrows runs will turn out better now that MA had their chance to skim their take off the top on todays runs.
I doubt there's any conspiracy... just that the courageous group went through many, many times more mobs than the steadfast group. We had plenty of bad looters. I don't think there were even any HOFs at all until the third hour of the event and after that the good stuff and HOFs started dropping one after the other. I expect there was some kind of threshold met. By then, I think the steadfast event may have already been ended, not sure exactly when that stopped. Certainly there is some balancing to do in regard to difficulty levels.
Yeah we had kind of awful loot at courageous for the first 3.5 hours. I wish I could have stayed longer but it was the middle of the night.
I was at the first attack from start to the end. Took around 7 hours? I spent around 4k ped of ammo and decay and had a total repair bill around 1500 ped. The return was around 70-80% - best item was a 12 ped esi. So a loss around 2.3k ped The first 2-3 hours was terrible many of the boss mobs didn't even global - return was here around 60-70%. After around 3-4 hours the first hofs showed up - the return was here close to 100%. At that point when still items in loot was missing I managed to get around 10% of the loot. The last hours items started to drop and this was the time when return turned really bad - here return was more 50-60% Big gz to those of you that got items and had profit from the event. To ark team, much better event than last time. I only had one ctd and no lag. One time I made a boot of computer when it started to run slow. That helped a lot. I know you don't have anything to do with loot, but first hours was terrible. Big thumps up for the healing service - I want to loot one of those chips
Neil.. Never said anything about a conspiracy dude. I'm not even bitchin about the ubers getting their share. Never have. I am how ever speaking up for the fact that EVERYTHING goes to the same people every event who can cycle tons of ped like there is no tomorrow. After 7 years of this crap I am tired of the mid level people being fleeced to pay for the certain few to have and get anything of fun or value out of the game. THAT is the whole reason MA's reputation is crap and one of the reasons so many people don't trust them.
I just don't think that's true. I am definitely low mid level and I looted two very nice UL items with significant MU as well as a number of L swords and some very nice MU oils (over 600 ped liver oil plus a few hundred PED heart oil). My equipment was cap-34 with hotfoot 25, a setup that is within reach of any mid level player and economical. In this event, my liakon and mah'ketta armors were helpful in protecting against one hit from most mobs so I would stay alive while the ultra fap was recharging. I expect most mid level players would have similar armors. Most of the good stuff, from what I could tell, was looted by low/mid level players, not so much by the few ubers who were there. Of course a big part of the event is luck, being in the right place at the right time and shooting at the right mob. When there are 50 people shooting at a big boss, the fact that one person is doing 100 dps and another 50 may give the uber player two "tickets" for the item, but because it's luck of the draw, they're very unlikely to get all the items, and may not get any at all. If nothing else, the XP-1 Scanthi gun should show us that uber skills do not mean not everything, and low or mid level players can loot awesome stuff too. But you can't just shoot off 100 ped ammo and expect to get an uber loot, you do need to cycle some decent ped for this kind of event.
Thumbs up to the A-team for this latest event. Last night I was finally able to get ingame, and could participate in the Oraton smashing. It was certainly improved over last time: it's great to see that feedback is listened to on this planet. Organization and server stability were much better. A lot less confusion with the recognizable official avatars. New mobs, and better loot. The spread-out in timing made it available for everyone. Closing off the event with a commemoration, like the poster is a nice touch. And the healing was very helpful: as a newbie I didn't need to spend the majority of the time running back from revive. Thanks for all the hours healing, it must have become tiresome in the end: 3 x 7 hours non-stop fapping. View attachment 8544 The planned announcement/alert ingame in global chat would be great: hopefully MA will come through in that regard. Maybe it could be fun to have a small teaser, leading up to an event like this? Like a half hour suprise attack, or one wave & boss pop up randomly after an alert? Might be fun to do in the future, after there have been a couple of these events, to spice it up a bit. Sort of like a small reward for the Arkadians that reside here all the time. You have to be here to catch it. Meh, just an idea.
