When they'll come again?
Kinda amusing event. Never been so happy to loose 400 ped in 3 hours .
Owell some pointers thou that would be cool imo if they changed.
1. Fix the servers pre event .
2. It would be cool if lower TT items dropped giving more ppl a chance to bring in a sweet item. When the items Always drop high TT its everyone lets feed the ubers event.
3. I would love to c a new type of mob for these events with more fokused loot. Say a Oratan infiltrator that comes in 12 different types or so. Al types carrying the same loot. I got some MU items yesterday but since I had bout 40 different stacks most go to be TT foor which is kinda sad for an event that was this much fun.
4. Move the healers OUT FROM THE GATE . Telling ppl not to stand inside aint really nough imo.

I must say that the high TT cost of animal parts - the main problem of the planet Arkadia. That's why we run all team hunts on Calypso. Some animal parts are too high TT and very high drop rate, so loot distribution for Team unsuitable (someone recieved Yuka part 4PED TT, someone 0.15 PED ammo), this is unfair. Oratan Miners dont have this problem (only these mobs can be teamhunted on Ark fairly), but we dont have high maturity Oratans for our team (more than 300-400 dps). So each weekend we hunting on Proterons, Feffox or other mobs, with more fair loot distribution. Unfortunately, I do not know how to solve this problem without redesigning the entire loot from all mobs and BP content. But, I had no problems with getting the loot in this event with 63 dps
My reflections on yesterdays event:
1) Why go from two locations - which proved successful in the last event - to one location? I said to my socmates even before it started that "this won't go well" and it din't. Laggy as hell and several ctd's and freezes and whatnots. It's never a good idea to change a winning team, which proved right here as well. Thankfully the A-team managed to set up another location fast. Next time have two or even three locations.
2) The flying mobs. They're a real pain and for me something of a fun-killer. Fix it til next part of the event, either by fixing the AI (MA-work I guess) or by redesigning the firebases or by simply having the mobs spawning 200 meters away from the bases. Somehow see to it that players simply *cannot* stand in the entrance since if it is possible, some idiots always will...
3) Loot. Is it really neccessary to "build up" loot for 1.5-2 hours before lvl 227-mobs give more than 150 ped globals? It turned out ok for me that had the time to play for 8 hours straight but everybody don't have that time.
All in all, still a nice event and as before, a big thanks to the fappers!! Soo nice not to have to even bother about fapping when all you want to do is keep on shooting
It cost me an arm and a leg... and to many revives to count, but it was a blast.... although the whole "flying dino" thing was a bit of a pain in the armor plated back-side.
I will gladly do it again. Maybe next round us low damage shooters will get lucky drops now and then too . lol
I think they did one location to start because did not expect that many people on dec 26th heheh we sure showed them and they had to expand right away
I'd disagree. I think at this stage, it's good to experiment. For instance, the very first one we had was MUCH worse because everyone was supposed to meet at the quarry, so it was a big improvement from that time. The problem at repulse was the large number of avatars who showed up, everyone running around and jumping around at the same time, i think it was just too much information for the server to handle. Everything was fine after the group was divided. So it seems that we need to start the event at multiple locations to see how many show up, then regroup at one place if it's not enough for two.
I agree, it would be nice to see more items drop. Right now it's just L swords a few pirons and the (this time very elusive) UL items. Let's face it, most of us are looking for a chance to loot something special, that's the main motivation of a lot of the players who come to this kind of event. So turning up the drop rate on those would be nice (I know drop rates are not directly under the control of the A-team but adding additional items would also be a solution).
So in essence, where you disagree you really agree (I said I wanted the event to be at more than one location) and where you agree you disagree? I didn't say anything about wanting a lot of high MU UL items dropping as it's completely impossible. If it would start dropping Scanthi (or however it's spelled) pistols it would totally destroy the game. I'm sure there will drop something nice, an uber fap etc, and
perhaps already at the next event, but those drops will and should be rare, imho.
But as long as they fix the flying mob thing, that's the most important part for me. I only have a little MF-chip and will most likely never loot anything nice anyway so...
No I disagreed with the part where you said they shouldn't experiment with different ways of doing it. I edited the quote to make it more clear what I was referring to. I do agree with the idea of starting it at multiple locations if they dont' know how many people to expect.
As for loot I meant more in the lines of ESI etc that Would spice things up abit more. Decent mu gives the reciver a ped boost without taking to much of the loot. Gives smaller shooters a chance. What did u guys think bout the massive amount of different items?
Ah ok, understood. But in my opinion it worked really well last time so I still think "just go with what works"...
Well as for loot, if there would've dropped some fat ESI:s etc, the smaller shooters would've stood almost no chance getting one of those so for them I'm sure it is much better put together as it is now. Speaking for myself I was pleasantly surprised when I - *very* tired - checked my pack after ~8 hours of grinding. No UL items but lots of high-MU oils (170 ped heart oil, 100 ped brain oil etc) that sold easily and with a nice profit, and on one of the +2k hofs I got lucky and looted a 300 ped Manta Chill. Tier components, treasure stuff from miners...even if most of it is tt-junk, enough of it is sellable. I like the loot diversity
ESI can be looted by a lower level if the tt is Around 10 ped. By curiosyty what wepon were u using and how many lower players do u think can Hunt for 8 hours and be Abel to stack items? Dont get me Wrong im just saying it might be poss to adjust this to get a Lill better.
If you ask me these "shared" events shouldn't have any items at all as long as MindArk(no use for anyone to answer unless MA rep) don't tell us all how it is decided who should get what.
This way it's all stackable loot who can get distributed somewhat fairly and as Dav above said some high mu stuff is stackable too, so the mu would still be there.
And a lot of different stackables just shoot on one type of mob and you get the normal amounts as on a normal hunt, if you shoot all 4 kinds you are likely to get stackable loots from all loot tables simple as that.
Nice to see all the people who turned up there tho and hope you re-stocked ammo etc.. for next time they might want to try to over run us.
i know you wont listen jennifer but you can just read the info on the mob, the % of dmg done equels the % chance of getting the item.
so even a nib with opalo can be lucky to get the item (but very rare) and a uber like star cant just go take all items.
ppl join those event cuz of the chance to loot a nice item and not to get stackables, thats also why 50% of the ppl at the event only stands at the gate waiting for the bosses
but i do agree that many of the high tt L items could be removed from those loots since they are tt food anyway and would be better split as stackables.
P.S. any news about when they spawn again so i can be ready ??
Yeah ok, you're right there, ESI:s of that size could go anywhere.
I'm only using a lvl IX T5 electric attack nano chip, and I had originally bought some 700 ped ammo. After a couple of hours those were gone and I tt'ed some looted junk (saved anything with mu and sellable) and bought 700 more. Rinse and repeat once more before I had to give up and go to bed
What a long day and night it turned out to be indeed. Had tons of fun with friends and looted an ESI; no complaints here
guess the oratan changed tactics and just attacked the HQ in singapore.
that qould explain why we havent had any more attacks and no info of why !!!!
or does time just run so slow there so "the comming days" meen weeks ?
