Buzz had the right to enter the comp, and decide what to do with the prize.

Would you have preferred Arkadia to send the laptop to Buzz since he won it fair and square, and then Buzz have to send it on to Adamas?

 

Seems people will only read what they want to read.

Buzz won the lappy and can do as he wishes with it, this however does not mean that Buzz did not win. I have already said that Buzz has done the right thing but giving the laptop to Adamas. I have said this before and will say it again.

However my objection was that Adamas was credited with the win on this page.
Buzz clicked the BP, Buzz was listed as the avatar on the leaderboard, Buzz should be the Avatar listed as the winner.

Who Dell sends the laptop to is not relevant. They will just send the prize to the person that Arkadia nominate and to the home address given. Buzz could have been listed as the winner and had the laptop sent to Adamas without any drama or problem.

Buzz should be given the credit for winning with his skill.

As for the "missing" items, yes the avatar/s that turns in the certificates will be declared the winner/s, whether they bought them from the auctions or traded for them. They wont however be credited with the actual discovery of the item. If they purchased the Certificate, then all they really did was buy themselves something. So far as I can see everyone that has been credited as the winner of an item ,actually found the certificate, but there were a couple that I didnt comfirm as the actual discoverers.

 

Ah, it seems I misunderstood you.

You simply want the page to show that it was Buzz's avatar, not Adamas', that did the looting.

Thanks for the feedback. Your point is taken and for similar events in the future, we will credit the actual winners instead.

 

Won Randomly? Not Skill Based? Takes skills and gear to kill a Huon Stalker to win the laptop I won. Go give one a try if you haven't lately I will be waiting on your reply. I don't know you but I am going to take a guess you can't kill one solo. Why? You don't have close to 300k Skills and 200+ HP as I do to compliment Chronicle armor in being able to kill one. If you do have the skills and gear then you should know what I am talking about and not made the above statement. How fair was it that it was a Huon Stalker? Not to many can deal with them efficiently and not trying to get into a pissing contest just stating facts from my side.

And of the ones being sold? You can buy one and claim it for yourself and be called the winner.

That is what needed to happen to begin with compiling and keeping a running tally of the winners the day the item was looted.

All in all awesome event Many tried to loot some nice Alienware items. I certainly wasn't expecting mine, but lessons were learned from both Players and Cyrus for managing Arkadia's 1st event. The process of verifying the proper winner/new owner was run well I like the forum and in-game verification process Cyrus was managing for this event.

 

MY REPLY - dunno what you want to hear.
Do you have more hunting skill than me ? Yes you do.
Did you pay a lot for gear than me ? yes you did.
Did your skill gain you the Laptop you won? Of course, because the certificate was assigned to loot #??????, It may just as well have been a puny carabok that happened to get that loot number. The loot was not necessarily assigned to a Huon Stalker.
Did you deserve your win? - yes of course you did.

Glad to see that you actually agree with the point that the "real and credited" winners should be the ones given the congratulations for their win - whether they choose to claim the prize, sell it, or give it away. As for those that Purchase the certificates, nothing wrong with buying them, but I dont think they should be listed as "winners" , perhaps "Claimants" would be a better choice of words, or list the "Discoverers" as those that found the loot. However as Arkadia will be obliged to advertise who claimed the prize, I expect they will be listed as winners.

 

I dont know how to reply to your posts tayz, you make some good points.

It could go either way I guess. Buzz did Click it. But it was my BP, my materials, my loot.

I think I've been staring at this screen for 3 minutes now thinking of both sides. I cant decide.

 

Think of it in football terms, you gave Buzz the ball, told him what you wanted him to do with it. He scored the winning touchdown, won the gameball and MVP.

He gave you both the winning game and the gameball , but was given MVP because of the skill he displayed. Now should YOU be given his MVP because you told him to "run fast and get a touchdown" or should he still be MVP?

Without his skill you would not have won the game (got your loot) nor got the BONUS gameball ( the laptop) . You got what you wanted from him, in fact you got far more than you even asked for with the bonus. Why do you think you should also get MVP (credit for making the item with the highest value)?

You are not skilled enough to have done it by yourself( by your own admission) so why should you be given the credit of being the winning crafter?

I hope that puts it in a way that you can see my point a little clearer.

Buzz does a lot of crafting, its part of his business, after all you hired him for his skill, and making the winning item is a public credit to his skill, and he deserves the credit for doing that. Listing you as the winning crafter is , sorry for the bluntness, a lie.

 

I didn't Hire Buzz to do it, he is my soc leader and friend, I just asked him to do.
Secondly without my BP Buzz would have never won the event, He wasn't even on Arkadia or crafting Arkadian BPs.
Maybe the Winner of the event should be the person "trying to win". Buzz wasn't trying to win, I was.

But I'm done talking about this. You dont have a problem with the event or the way it was won; You just seem to have a problem with the way it was reported. I dont think anyone besides you cares enough to further debate it.
