There are some things I've picked up regarding all the Arkadian mobs compared to Calypso:

    1) The speed with which they attack, just about every ark mob with the exception of perhaps huon & nusul have the hit rate of Aurli. My defensive costs on armor is 2-3 times what I would have on calypso, I realise that this ties into the lvl rating of the mobs which also have an impact on the skills we receive for killing them, but I think some small tweaking here is needed. I am not saying the mobs should have a 15/15 hit speed, but atm some of them hit 60/60 or more.

    2) The second thing I have seen is that you need a lot higher evade lvl's to be able to hunt here, the medium lvl and higher mobs almost never miss me despite having lvl 24+ evade. If you take this together with problem no1 it becomes very hard to hunt on ark. Do we need uber evade lvl's to function properly here (lvl60+) ?

    3) The third problem, which ties into the first two, is the way the mobs are spawning. All the mobs spawn in super dense squares, this seems both unrealistic and causes a huge amount of ninja spawning to happen. Atm I find the only way to hunt certain mobs is to hover on the edge of the spawn and drag out the mobs I want to kill. Also some variation will be nice, not talking about mixing two spawns, just put some predators in between the grazing animals. For instance having 5% riptor mixed in with the large bokol spawn will make it look like they are there to hunt the bokol.

    4) Ever since I started hunting with the Raw I have noticed that the running speed of the mobs is very fast, at 120m (tier 2 range) I am lucky to get 3-4 shots in before the mobs have closed the distance. On calypso you also get some fast running mobs but not all of them are so fast, the mobs need some variation.

I would prefer to hunt on Arkadia, but I find myself often staying on Caly for weeks after making a quick trip there. I am also not saying all these issues need to be addressed but some of them def need to be tweaked. Income from decay will drop slightly yes, but in the long run this will bring in more hunters who call Arkadia home... which is good for crafters and miners... and even sweat gatherers and healers :D

Calypso isn't the center of everything anymore so no need to compare to them really since it's a different planet and different wildlife here on Arkadia.
With that said seems like you need to adapt your hunting tactics here, and not just "rush in with Ghost armor" like you can do on Calypso. If your defensive costs are 2-3x higher here then on Calypso then maybe adjust what you hunt instead of asking that the whole place change to be closer to what you* are used to.

What are you considering medium level? and higher mobs should hit you at that low evader level or why should we need to skill at all? (and I'm just in the higher 20's evader myself so not that I'm some uber)

Sure maybe it's not "realistic" to spawn like that but it sure is effective and good for most people, this way we can hunt effectively(not running around looking for mobs), mine effectively (not needing to hunt while mining), and we can also TP run without escort.
And if we use the term "realistic" again, do you hunt Lions in the middle of the group or even Wild Boars?

Any mixing of mobs even if it's just 1% is a big negative, not having this is one huge reason why I love Arkadian landscape.
If you're one of the people who love mixed spawns there are several these days so maybe try one of them first.
    Top of my head:
    • west of Dauntless FB
    • north of Outpost 206 218
    • west/southwest Repulse FB

This kind of variation I could agree on, as long as the mobs attack(and fast like now) when poked... (so please tell MA to fix the dancing)

Making it much more like Calypso like most of these things would do I doubt bring more people here, and then new players(which are what Arkadia wants) will grow up with Arkadian behavior and laugh at the slow and easy mobs at Calypso if they go there some day (as I do whenever I go there to do some hunts)

I am really not uber-evader, but with lvl 41 atm I can tell you that (at most mobs) I see no big difference to Caly. Aurli are hitting me MUCH more often, so I would not compare Ark mobs with Aurli :)

My defense decay in general is not higher than at caly mobs, with few exceptions, but that exceptions mostly are because I am using wrong setup at special mobs sometimes. My fault then.

i made a topic about this in the feedback section a while back but got told by people it is nonsense, but yes, 2-3x the cost to hunt on arkadia compared to calypso unless i hunt tiny mobs well below my level, there was no reply from the dev team about this so i voted with my feet and stopped hunting on arkadia. i also would prefer to hunt on arkadia but my pedcard disagrees.
entropia is already a expensive game and many people complain about the cost, i think this is the one mistake arkadia team has made, as a player you get nothing in return for the 2-3x the cost and they are limiting the amount of players that will hunt here due to the skill requirements needed to hunt mobs here. people with lvl40+ evade might say they dont notice this extra cost but realistically how large a percentage of the population is at this level?

Have heard similar complaints from several ppl. There's definitely a difference between Caly and Ark, adaptation can be a problem.

There's a simple solution - whenever u feel uncertain in a new environment, take off your armor and go all the way down to the lowest level mobs. Your defensive costs will be (close to) zero, no risk, no unnecessary stress. From there start to go up step by step with mobs/maturities, learn how spawns and mob AI works, see how high u can go, get the hang of it as u go. No armor will keep u busy and surprisingly it's loads of fun! ;)

Regarding hit rate etc: I am not talking about dodging every single hit, there are many mobs (scip, aurli, oseo, big trox and many more) that I hunt on caly that ocasionally miss me... what I have noticed is that except for the very small mobs they dont seem to miss at all. Also on hitspeed try and hunt kamaldon first person without stroking out from the blurring mob in front of you and then we can talk again... there are other examples as well, Riptor for example which is dmg/hp wise sort of similar to small trox yet hits much much faster and you need a higher evader lvl to do them. About the only mob Ive run across that never misses me is LT (or almost never)... the problem is on Ark it seems that mobs that miss ocasionally are the exception.

The reverse is true as well... why skill up evade at all ??? If it seems to make no difference ???

I am not trying to pick a fight or anything, fact is I am not a month old hunter. It is quite clear that the mobs need to be slightly balanced... give them more hp/regen and reduce the attack speed slightly is all I'm asking. I spoke with Cyrus about this the other day and he suggested I post on the forum.

Bottom line is we need variety... fast hitting mobs, hard hitting mobs, high regen mobs .. but also some slower (large hp) mobs.

I am getting the same info from friends that are way higher skilled then me, also it is prob the no1 complaint I hear from ppl as to why they don't like hunting here.

I love Arkadia, I like the story and I like the mobs... for me the hit rate and high evader req isn't the biggest problem. Its the Super fast running speed and dense ninja spawning that I don't like.

If you can hunt those mobs effectively I don't see why Arkadia should be so tough, last I hunted Scip they seemed to hit me every time and that was just before avoidance.

I know my limits so I dont hunt Kamaldon, but same as people told me and all others when they removed RMB(right mouse button) adept... I like the animations when I fapped on them tho, and first time I heard complaints about it. (I can understand some people might have issues with it tho)

And cant really comment more on Riptor then the small ones seems almost as easy as Trox, killed a few just to try out with my sword naked and usually take 2-3 youngs or 1-2 mature without needing the fap

It does make a difference which you'll notice if you keep track of things over time as I do, maybe not huge from lvl to lvl but there is definitely an improvement (using Kiana as example as that's what I have decent data on)

first you say you want the costs to go down then you ask for more regen which in turn will make you need larger weapons with usually higher % and less eco and/or lots of regen killed...
I thought we had a pretty decent selection of such mobs already, and dont forget Arkadia is not even 2years old yet

Bottom line you need to adept to survive just like irl

I think you are misunderstanding me lol, there is a difference between spending 3-4ped ammo/weapon decay to kill a mob and have to spend less but getting 200% more armor decay (which most ppl say is not compensated).

As I said before tho my biggest concern is the running speed and ninja spawns, especially when you have 3-4 mobs spawning on top of you all pumping out hits at a fast rate. This is causing me by far the largest part of my decay bill, and even when standing at the edge of the spawn this has a tendency to happen.

Personally I like moving around a bit when hunting, if we are just going to stand in one place and shoot for 3-4 hours why give us such a nice terrain etc?? Might as well line the mobs up in a shooting gallery.

I am also tracking my hunts very closely, that is why it is so obvious to me that the mobs aren't balanced properly.

My evader lvl is low compared to my hit/dmg professions, legacy of using long range rifles 99% of my career... but it is not that low that I should not be seeing some misses every now and then. Especially on Low-med lvl mobs. To clarify I consider anything 1-3k hp 40-120dmg hits in that category.

Sorry to say but your evade is way too low for those mobs. Sure some mobs on arkadia hit more then some other mobs on calypso (especially if you look at allophyl or feffoid or so), on the other hand some mobs on calypso hit even more (araneatrox, scipulor, hogglo). Maybe you should stick to lower level mobs, or do some missions that give you evade-reltated skills.

Sigh trying to give feedback to developers but seems it has deteriorated into a discussion about my personal ava skills...

No need to feed trolls anymore... Adieu!

Sure ninja mobs are a pain but I'm 99% sure that's a platform issue to take up with MA.

Good to hear you do track it as so many don't bother.
But then maybe it's not balanced for your way of hunting, but for me I love this new challenge Arkadia offer compared to the old days...
And why I dislike the trend of super high regen is that no melee weapons can compete with amped ranged guns on them, as you can't find high level (L) melee weapons with decent dps to take down big mobs with big regen. And I dont see that trend change anytime soon unless we get melee amps or some system that increase dps and eco like amps on ranged weapons do (and I mainly use melee weapons on higher level mobs)

Thanks for the clarification about what you consider medium level mobs, afraid we have to disagree on that when it comes to what we call low-medium mobs.

This is how I see low-medium:
(but guess this is highly personal viewpoints for each of us, just give you my view on it)
    up to 500hp - Low
    500-1500hp - Medium (unless super high damage/regen)
1500-3000hp - Hard (especially if your defense skills isn't high)
    3000hp+ - Real Tough

    Edit:
you tried to give dev feedback, so did I in my responses as well as help you and lots of others who have problems with how things are on Ark compared to what you(we) are used to. And yes I hear these same things from my soc and others too but I try to help them as well but not everyone give it a try, agree or even listen
(I know I don't know everything about EU, found out a "new" thing to me the other day after around 5years as example)

PS. feel free to PM me in game and I give you examples of the different style of mobs we got on Arkadia today that you mentioned in the post before this one

Kamaldon-class mob hits the player with evader lvl 21 every single time, resulting a high armor decay.
It's trying to deliver a message. Question is, can you read it? ;)

    ( small hint, it's not: "skills don't matter!" )

On a serious note, comparing Ark and Caly - hogglo starts hitting less only after lvl 40 evader and nobody complains about it. You either avoid hogglo or you don't care about your armor decay.
The Ark mobs mob ladder starts with heap of mobs that stop hitting you already at reasonably low evader levels (~10-25) - even the higher maturities. I'd say 50% of all mob types on Ark falls into that category. With the other 50% however, the evade requirement ladder goes straight up, it's indeed a very steep curve.

Why? That's a good question indeed.
I think what the dev's tried to do was segregation, reserve a place under the Ark sun for the skilled players, giving them a clear economical advantage. I can't possibly know it for sure thou, i can only guess.

i know you and others are trying to be helpful but i understand his frustration, i had pretty much the same thing happen when i gave similar feedback, everyone would try to help or tell me why i was wrong, but there just is no denying the fact that on average a mob on arkadia costs 2-3x as much in defensive costs as a similar mob from calypso, and it is purely down to the insane hitrate.
of course mordrell or i could go hunt tiny mobs, but if you are used to easily hunting mobs up to around 1500HP and having lots of choice why would you be satisfied with only have a couple of low lvl mobs you can hunt without ridicules costs.

i was going to ad more feedback to my own thread on the subject but saw mordrell started this, i dont see how anyone can deny that every mob on arkadia has this elevated hitrate, even baby mobs like nusul or bokol, i went to watch nusul hammering away at new players and was shocked. mordrell and i have taken the time to give this feedback when we could of just hopped onto a warp and never looked back, as im sure many people have already. if arkadia is flooded with hunters then there is no issue here for developers to worry about, but it isnt, so i think they might value knowing why some people chose not to hunt there, especially considering some of us would prefer hunting on arkadia to calypso.

The problem is a combination of the extreme evade requirement and the hitrate of 99% of mobs. Yes mobs like hoglo etc also require a high evade lvl but they do not hit nearly as fast, whats happening now is that a similar lvl mob is hitting 2-3 times more before it gets taken down. Combine that once again with extreme spawn density and speed and you have no choice but to over armor to protect against the inevitable 2-3 ninja that will spawn on you all at once.

Also please do not think of this as a complaining thread, I have 97%+ tt returns (armor decay included) and 3,5k profit on my hunting since I started up again. I have also been on Arkadia since the smuggler event and have hunted just about every mob on Ark, I am not a visiting tourist hunter.

The reason I created this thread was because I was talking with Cyrus in pm the other day on when the Alienware pc's will be shipped. He asked when I will be returning to Ark and I told him that despite the poor mu and constant losses I incur hunting on caly, I still find myself staying there for weeks at a time when I just go for a soc hunt or to sell/buy something. He then suggested to me that a put all the complaint I have together for the developers to see.

I am also a huge fan of Arkadia and consider it my home, I am however not such a fanboy that I'm not willing to question or comment on obvious design problems or balancing issues that I see.

    Cheers Mord
