Arkadian events and facebook

Hi,

Fully agree. Only exception: Some planet bound events might require an account at this planets "official forum", for screen shots, stories, or such.

IF it would be required that we'd need to have/ create accounts at Facebook, Google+, Twitter or whatever I'd expect that the prices would come from those, too - after all they'd be the ones profiting.
But if Alienware is sponsoring events on Arkadia directly, maybe an account at the Alienware site could be required, but for sure not anywhere else.

I gotta disagree big time to this.
Consider this one U do NOT have to have an FB account but ANYONE that does can apply hence use ur mommas damn account then and like from there .
Either way this is a GREAT thing imo now I just gotta get my friends to realise they wanna like arkadia to in there. This price might acctualy do just that hence showing the game to hopefully a few k more ppl.

Nice going Ark. FB / tweet / Youtube etc is the market place to be in and use atm.

 

Well atleast they're not setting regional limitations like a lot of competitions I've seen.

The global competitions are atleast equal for everyone and not highest loot wins (except I've not globaled in 3-4 years and as I switched to low level mobs on Ark the highest loot I've ever had is 30ped which since the loot change that record isn't going to change anytime soon).

The more globals you have the more chances of winning but will it be limited to one prize per person? i.e. you win in one category you get eliminated from all others?

We should all remember the graphics card being looted on Calypso where one player looted many of them. Not great advertising if the playerbase is in uproar because one player got more than one system. It might not be popular but you'd have more winners.

As for Facebook and youtube, well I've got accounts but I've no wish to link them to EU or expose people I know to EU while it's in the state it is. I've a twitter account for my avatar but only for skills progress / globals (if I ever get one again!)

Personally, I am astounded and confounded by the uproar.

If you had an aversion to using a telephone and Arkadia Studios wanted to engage with people over the phone, would you boycott the planet on that basis?

If you didn't want to go to a gaming expo but Arkadia Studios had a giveaway at such an expo, would you boycott the planet on that basis?

If you didn't own a television but there was an Arkadia Studios promotion on TV , would you boycott the planet?


The fact is that the alternative would be for Arkadia Studios NOT to market to its Facebook users and their friends. Would you honestly have them ignore this channel because some people won't want to enter? Come on folks.

 

THe thing is, as it's open to anyone with facebook account so once word gets arround the majority of likes will probably be from people who've never heard of EU and have no intention of seriously joining us except if they get the prize and need to collect it.

The only other thing I noticed, no prize specifically for an Ark baby right now most of the prizes will go to Caly expats / visitors who'll stick around long enough for the competition and leave again.
