Arkadia Launch Party: Location POLL

MA Midnight is like... 6pm for me.


No need to dance the entire night away, just pop over for a few minutes and add folks to your FL if you choose... that way we can all have some contacts on Arkadia if needed.

 

I will pop round of course, even if just to wish well to my fellow travelers for the next day

 

My plan is to nap a bit before coming to the party. Then I'll party away for a while. When the servers go down I'll nap again for however long they estimate the servers will be down minus about 30 minutes. Then I'll download with a snooze alarm going every 10 minutes.

Once I can log in I'll make the move and do my thing until I can't keep my eyes open any longer.

Yeah I know I'm taking this to the extreme, but that's part of the fun for me. (Yes, I know I'm weird)

So if you chat me several hours after the VU and I don't seem to be all there, you know why.

 

That sounds like a very organized plan, and no ... you're not weird ... I'd say you're buffering for some fun play time.

I voted for northern space base... I didn't know they removed the stuff there so ohh well I guess now my vote is changed to athena spaceport too!

 

We could have the party in my Hangar, I mean it does have a GIANT Dance floor and a Bar

I've added them both to the MSR jukebox and they will both play shortly if you can tune into the radio, just click the link in my signature and you get the player that should start up immediately. I really like them both ... a LOT. Thanks!

Just as an FYI ... I'm not a prude by any means, and have been known to be quite colorful myself at times, but I've made a conscious decision to not play songs on MSR that have a lot of cursing, or that use the F-word, in title or otherwise.

Personal opinion, but I don't feel that music has to be raunchy to enjoy it or get your dance on. Hope everyone understands. If it's your flavor, then there are other options for sure ... but I think you'll find the eclectic sounds of MSR appealing in one way or another.

Please continue to list tracks that you would like to hear and I will definitely do my best to get them loaded up, and will post when I have done so. I'm also pulling together more of different genres to add to the eclectic sounds, as well a more current sounds too, so there should be plenty for everyone.

It would be nice to have a special playlist of tracks that people attending the pre-launch party would like to hear, so keep throwin' them in here.

Hiya All!! , I will be proudly rocking the night away with my fellow Arkadians!!
I am as we speak making my preperations for the trip.

 

For those that don't know Athena Space Port very well... From the TP, there is a path to the east of the TP. Just follow that path to the end. It's not very far.

 

Wow, so many going to Arkadia instantly.


I have been waiting since I first heard of Arkadia.. I'm soooo curious about it now...

I was giving some thought to the date and time of the pre-launch party, and while it would be awesome to have it on the very night before Arkadia goes live, it dawned on me that lately, the updates have been rather erratic and not necessarily on Tuesdays. There have been delays up to a couple of days (?), or even a week (?).

Perhaps keeping our virtual fingers crossed that the update happens on time (which is in MA's hands, right?) ... might it be a consideration to have the pre-launch party on Sunday instead, and at a time when more people would be able to attend?

This way, people wouldn't have to be concerned about the lateness and having to get up for work the next day. Also, we wouldn't have to be too concerned about a time that would take into consideration when people were getting home from work, or the vast differences in time zones.

For example ... 22:00 game time is 6pm my time (East Coast US - same as yours Chrome ), 3pm West Coast US (people still at work), and already after midnight in some parts of Europe.

What's everyone's thoughts on this?

 

perhaps both...Have a main party on Sunday that everyone can attend...and still have a get together hanging around TP right before Arkadia Launch...I will try to make it either way....^_^

 

I have to agree with MS9. It is nice to have a countdown to launch but in the end it is up to Mindark when the VU will happen. They could do it next week if they wanted to or delay it several weeks ( we have all see that happen ).. I think a date for the party should be picked and stuck to regardless of the count down. We all know we a going we just don't know when !!!

 

I actually thought of that too, and I'm certainly willing to hang out and provide music and live broadcasting for both nights, but I think the 2nd party would have to be a rather last minute gathering after we know for sure that the update is going to happen, and maybe we should establish a specific time in case that happens as well. Either way, I'm ok with it all.

Since Chrome is hosting this party, let's hear what she has to say and what will work for her ... it's important that our host is there, so this was just a suggestion.

I think it's a good idea to change the date so MORE people can attend, so I think Sunday would be great...
