Celebration of Ardorjies 11th Anniversary, Mêlée Style! Start: saturday 16th january 2016 somewhere in the MA-time morning. (See down at the FAQ why I don't have a start-time.) End: I hope 24 hours later. Hello dear Mêlée-Arkadians, In the second week of this year I celebrated my 10th 'spawnday' by hunting for 24 hours straight on in with mêlée only. Everyone who wanted has joined me with their swords, daggers, clubs, and other mêlée-weapons. Since then I tried to organize a Mêlée-Teamhunt each month, but that didn't work out unfortuatly due to real life complications on my side. However, the first, the 24 Hours, was a great succes. Click here for the 2015 Edition. Therefore, and with no further ado, I would like to invite you all to join me in my 11th 'spawnday' celebration-event "24 Hours Mêlée all the Way!" at saturday 16 january 2016. It will go the same way as the 2015 Edition: General Information, I will ... 1) ... start on saturday 16th of january 2016 in the morning after I've woken up and had my breakfast. Will be most likely between 07:00 and 09:00 MA-time. 2) ... make a team "24 Hours Mêlée all the Way 2016!" where everyone who wants to can join me. As long as one uses a mêlée weapons that's fine by me, ie. it's a public 'free event'. 3) ... hunt for 24 hours straight on, only using mêlée, ie. not even a tagging-weapon. 4) ... hunt on Planet Arkadia and the Underground. 5) ... do my best so that you can win the following: a) Fun! b) Friends! c) Mêlée skills and unlocks! d) New level in Mêlée-prostandings! 6) ... hunt and global on as many creatures as possible. I tried to stream it last time, but that didn't work. I have not upgraded my internet nor laptop, so I won't try it this year. It would be fantastic if I can hunt all 24 hours in a team, just like last time. In other words, that all along the way there's at least one other person in the team. The event-rules are not too complicated: 1) Every-one is invited. Have fun and invite your friends to share the fun. 2) Team-rules will be set to 'Damage, stack share' and the sharing of good items is encouraged. Last year included Bloodstained Axe 55 (L), MANTA Chill 1 (L), multiple ESI (L), and Piron PBP-37 (L). 3) Your skills and gear don't matter, it's cool wether you use a MAKO FAL-1 from the TT, or an über weapon, tier 8.x with enhancers, Trauma Amp and stuff. 4) Only use mêlée weapons, shooting is a capital offense! At the 2015 Edition I think there were only 3 shots fired, let's get this down to zero! 5) It will last till a) I am flat broke, b) I've fallen asleep, c) the dawn of doomsday, d) 24 hours are over. 6) To try to get globals from as many Arkadian creatures as possible. We globaled on 12 out of 18 different mobs the first time. Try and forget about the Riptors please ... 7) When there's no-body to hunt with me I'll open the doors of Sal'dresh Vaults or Aakas. I noticed that things can be unclear while talking ingame about the 24 Hours Mêlée all the Way! Therefore I've now included a ... Frequently Asked Questions: Q: When does is the starttime? A: The day is saturday 16-jan-16. The time it starts I don't know, honestly. Being awake for 24 hours takes a toll on by body, so I need a good nightsrest. I won't set my alarm that morning, so it depends on when I have had enough sleep. Normally I stand up between 06:30 and 08:30 in the weekends. Allowing me to have my breakfast and brush my teeth, I think I can start between 07:00 and 09:00 MA-Time. Q: I can't hunt for 24 hours, that's far too long! A: I won't aks you too. Only I will go for the 24 hours, it's cool even when you join for just an hour. Q: I can only use a MAKO FAL-TT (L), can I still join? A: Yes you can! Dmg/sec is not important because the loot-distribution is set to 'Damage, stack share'. That means that when you do only 1% of the dmg, you'll get only 1% of the stackables. For me it's very important that I have people around me in the tiny hours (~03:00 - 24th hour), so even a support hunter who will talk to me to keep me going is very welcome. Q: What can I win in this event? A: Nothing. It's not such an event, nor am I a charity to give you a weapon to hunt with. Don't let that discourage you though, the first edition of the WOF made by Hurricane were done in the same way. The 24 Hours Mêlée all the Way! is about coming together as mêlée-hunters. Q: Why can't I use a tagger? A: Because that's why. When I started this game - 11 years ago now - I said to myself to only use mêlée-weapons. I made the mistake to buy a Sollomate Opalo when that item was introduced, yet I still hunt 99% mêlée only. Tagging is for wossies who are afraid they can get hurt. Q: What is the estimated cost to join? A: That depends entirely on yourself ofcourse, what weapon will you use and how long will you join the hunt? To give you an idea, hunting for one hour with the MAKO FAL-TT (L) at constant slashing: 33 attacks/min * 60 = 1980 attacks/hour ; 2,65 PEC/use /100 = 0,0265 PED/ use ; 1980 * 0,0265 = 52,47 PED/ hour. Last year I spended, including defense-costs, less then 4100 PED. Q: Where do I apply? A: You don't have to, it's nice if you leave a note that you want to of course! I'm not in the condition to afford hunting (yet), but I'll sure try my best to be on for as many hours as possible, cheer up for you and join the team if at any times there will be noone else in, just to not let you be alone / sleeping. Also, big grats for the 11th anniversary and may many more follow it and all of your dreams come true both in the next year and in all future years to come!
I was such a noisy offender last time, felt forced in a sticky situation with too many mobs spawning on our backs and everything melee at hand not up to the task. This shall not happen again, accept the challenge and play by the rules. It was great fun and I'll definitely try to give it a whirl, funds permitting. Cheers!
Today, 02-jan at 12:10 (European time) In two weeks the Mêlée all the Way! 2016 will be underway. Who knows what we will have hunted and globalled on by then already? In the 2015 Edition there was from the first hour till the twenty-fourth always at least one other mêlée-hunter to keep me company. I hope for the same this year. Not looking forward at a 24 Hours Sal'dresh Keys to be honest. Are you prepared? Do you know where you've stocked your swords, daggers, clubs, whips, power fists and melee-amps? Have you skilled enough to use that next SIB-weapon? While hunting the mightly strong übermob Carabok Puny I got 3400 Inflict Melee Damage. "[...] the ability to effectively damage an opponent in close combat." Last year the mob with the highest HP we took down were the Yukaas. We did fail at the Riptors and Korwils though, because we lacked the defense to stand ground against their wave after wave of attacks. Who's for trying these two again for revenge? See ya in tha pit!

Quick note on the mobs we can hunt: Suggestion as to what to hunt are always welcome, however I want to hunt a mob only once. I have my own small wishlist what to hunt: Startmob = Wombana or Badger_710R (??) Getting-sleepy-mob = Mutated Hadraada Endmob = Teladon (??) Others = Magurg Male ; Aakas Key #6 (?) ; and many more besides! I'll see you testing your melee-skills at the Oratan Event and the next day I hope!

Just landed back on Arkadia tonight, specially for your event. Not sure if I'll participate or just cheer up for you, but I wanted to be here. Eventually, maybe you wanna hire a healer; if you do, I highly consider trying to match your challenges... heal you for 24 hours straight, from start 'till end - hahaha.
24 Hours healing is even more insane then what I'll do! I think however that the payment will become way too complicated, because of hunters coming and going. And I'm not going to pay for it all myself, that I can say. Unless you apply to be my personal healer?
I resent that I love hunting Argonauts with knife only. Difference is, they come running from afar full of joy to see you, whereas most Arkadian mobs are so blasé they need a kick in the ass first before they deign to notice you. I just get tired of doing all the running myself. But it's your game, so no tagging (We could try Tiarak in EA3, that should be interesting... and folks get hides to sell for the pain.)
If you want, there are sure ways to handle it, and I'll mention here just some of the ideas I have: 1. Heal only you, so yeah, your own personal healer - hahaha. 2. Have a 1% (or so) share of the team loot, so each hunter "pays his part", which at the end of the day I can trade to you in exchange for the healing costs - not very accurate (you may end up having to pay up a difference or end up with a bit of profit), but very easy to implement. 3. Just count on people good will and let everyone "tip" as they feel adequate in the moment they leave the team; at the end of the day we make the math and you either cover the difference or I give you back the difference. Or, of course, you may not need me at all - hahaha - tbh it was kinda a crazy idea anyway, but why leave you be the only crazy one - hahaha.
i may be able to slip in and out at some stage of the day, i use a fire dagger with amp so dps is above 50. how does the damge, stack team rule work exactly?
The Dmg, stack works like this (as far as I know and understand). Let's assume there is a team with four players that killed a mob with 1000HP that loots 10.00 PED Ammo, 0.25 PED Stackable (one item), 5.00 PED Item (not stackable). The teammembers did the following damage: A: 500dmg B: 200dmg C: 200dmg D: 100dmg The 10.00 PED Ammo is split accordingly: 5.00 for A, 2.00 for B and C, 1.00 for D. The item goes to any player, probability is based on dmg. So A has a 5/10 change, B and C 2/10, D 1/10. I think the 0.25 Stackable goes to A, but this could also go the same way as the non-stack item.

I survived the 24 hours, but it was a difficult thing to continue after ~01:00 when I still had to go 6,5 hours. I thought I was better prepared then I was the first edition. I might have been, but failed to add a column that said "trades with teammates" to account for all the item-splitting. At the very least I made screenshots of them, so now I can backtrack that ... 24 Hours Mêlée all the Way! 2016 : Summary (1/5) It's now, at the moment that I'm beginning to write this summary, nearly 48 hours later then when I started. So let's start at the beginning. Or better yet, let's start roughly another 24 hours earlier. Warning: it's a very long post. Friday I had the day off friday, wich I was planning to use for some last time preparations for the 24H-MatW. In the morning I got something else: my first car! It's an old grumpy Opel lol. When I got home I got a nasty suprise: the heater had broken down! They promised me that the mechanic would arrive before 17:00. At 17:15 still no mechanic, at 18:00 he was finally here and he left at 19:15. Don't ask me why, but I don't like to do anything Entropia-related when I know there's a mechanic due to arrive. So I missed the entire midday for some much needed preparations. In the evening I, when I finally logged on, made a mistake by opening 50 Strongboxes. Pills, fireworks, two kittens, and lots of Universal Ammo lol. Last year I made some notes for myself to track the results better. For example: 2. Seperate unL from (L) gear, and note the total value of all (L) gear from the start. I did, and then I didn't use anything (L) lol. 3. Make screenshots of all trades done. & 4. Frequently (~1/hour) reset Tracker. I made all those screenshots, I think I got them all ... and now I think it would have been better to just add a collumn "trading" in the log. I failed to reset Tracker in time and missed the Mutated Bokol & Kamaldon globals. Saturday (before starting) My internal bio-alarm went off early ofcourse. Sub-Zero was on his way to Arkadia, so I waited for him. Buckaroo joined too before the first mob was killed. I had the Badger_710R in my mind to start with, but Sub-Zero said that he often crashes on entering the Underground so we didn't take the risk and went for something else instead. I put on my 5B-plated Viceroy and was all ready now. I have nine armour-sets with two plating-sets, but I only used the Viceroy+5B or went naked for the 24H-MatW. ... too lazy to change. 07:25 : Otorugi It was a nice start, even though the return kinda sucked. I completed Stage 1 of the Otorugi Mission ... reward: Handgun lol. I also looted a Piron PBR-22 (L). I've only looted ranged-weaponry myself the entire 24 hours, and I think everyone else did so too. Mission: 90 killed + Stage 1 completed Weapons: Dehera Immolation Sword with Melee Trauma Amplifier IV & Philosopher's Sword Decay/ loot/ return: 342,53/ 236,11/ 68,93% 08:35 : Beladoth Now we got it rolling good. Buckaroo left, Eagle88, ghinea and Jess joined. I completed Stage 1 of them too, reward: Heavy Melee Weapons - yeah! That reward also gave me a new rank, but I forgot to check how much I have now. We got six globals, I looted a Piron PLP-37 (L). Mission: 68 killed + Stage 1 completed Weapons: Dehera Immolation Sword with Melee Trauma Amplifier IV & Philosopher's Sword Decay/ loot/ return: 326,88/ 445,25/ 136,21% 10:20 : Kadra The start mob of the first edition when we couldn't get a global, now we got a small young. Kain, Hitman and Lucky joined. We started hunting the small Kadraas first, but they were falling like flies so we went for the higher maturities later. Left those too, but they were falling like fatted flies. I've looted a Piron PLP-27 (L), and ended with a small profit. Mission: 29 killed Weapons: Dehera Immolation Sword with Melee Trauma Amplifier IV Decay/ loot/ return: 88,04/ 95,53/ 108,51% 11:10 : Scoria People wanted to go for the Scoria, would be perfect with a team-hunt because of their high HP and area-attacks. I've never liked them but agreed to try them out - Why! Yes, they gave us two globals, but they also made me loose about half of what I sticked into 'm. ghinea left, Mike and Nero joined. 24 Hours Mêlée all the Way! 2016 : Summary (2/5) 12:35 : Nusul & Huon After the failed Scoria I had my luch and there was a change in the team. Sub-Zero, Kain, Hitman, Mike and Lucky all left the team. I suggested a step down to the high maturity Nusul. That wasn't needed, we still had enough strenght and switched quickly to the small Huons. Kain rejoin and San, Cailland, elenore and Sharah joined as well. Nero and Jess left later during the Huon-hunt. It was a nice hunt, just made the 90%-mark, got a Piron PLR-42 (L) myself and two globals. Mission: 5 killed & 101 Huon killed Weapons: Dehera Immolation Sword with Melee Trauma Amplifier IV & Philosopher's Sword Decay/ loot/ return: 296,88/ 268,89/ 90,57% 14:25 : Arkadian Key 6 I had an Arkadian Key 6 burning in my pocket for a long time. Might have been over a year or longer lol. From what I understood and remember from forumpost, we would encounted quite some punies still, with the occasional Dehera. So we agreed to use TT-blades for most of the part and the big toys on the bosses only. Also the first time I took off my Viceroy+5B since the first time on Otorugi. First chamber was packed with Deheraas, yet we did managed to plow through them with our TT-blades. Later during the Key-run we switched to our better blades for the maturity of the Deheraas. After we got the last Dehera Captain down we ran to the boxes, but unfortuatly I couldn't get to any for some reason. I saw the rest all globalling when they openend one, and when all were openend I crashed good. Then I couldn't log back in, password failed ... failed ... I had to reset my password because I just couldn't get it right. That was one scary moment. After updating my log, I was happy with the result. Mission: 35 Dehera Defender & 13 Magurg Male & <10 Dehera Sentinel & Rakta & Ubo & Yarrijak killed. Weapons : Dehera Immolation Sword with Melee Trauma Amplifier IV & MANTA K-TT (L) Decay/ loot/ return: 221,63/ 337,81/ 152,42% 16:05 : Togolossi We wanted to go down to the Underground for some Togolossi. Sub-Zero said that he might crash in there and then had to re-install Entropia. He took the risk, we teleported down, and never saw Sub-Zero again. Once again there was a change in the team and we started hunting the Togolossi with Caillend, Nero, Iceman, San and Lucky. Last year the Togolossi were a very good mob, but this time not so. We did get three globals, but those were not even to break the 90%-mark. Mission: 417 Togolossi killpoints Weapons: Dehera Immolation Sword with Melee Trauma Amplifier IV & Philosopher's Sword Decay/ loot/ return: 139,99/ 111,75/ 79,83% 17:00 : Badger_710R We stayed in the Underground to hunt down both types of Miners. Both proofted to be a big mistake at the time. What can I say more about them? I got the worsed return on the mechanical type of all hunts of the 24H-MatW, with the Oratan a good (or bad) second. Eagle88 rejoined the team, while Iceman left. We only stayed on them for a very short time, who can tell how it would have ended, had we endured? Mission: 202 Badger_710R killpoints Weapons: Dehera Immolation Sword with Melee Trauma Amplifier IV Decay/ loot/ return: 56,97/ 25,59/ 44,92% 17:15 : Oratan Miner I think I said how this went pretty much already with the Badger_710R. Caillend, Nero and San couldn't stand the previous Miners no more and left before the start of these. Mission: 1300 Oratan killpoints Weapons: Dehera Immolation Sword with Melee Trauma Amplifier IV & Philosopher's Sword Decay/ loot/ return: 169,25/ 76,37/ 45,12/% 18:40 : Mutated Beladoth & Mutated Otorugi & Ubo Back to the sunshine at Sonkra Valley. I had dinner first, a cheap pizza and I don't even really like that lol. Eagle88 and Lucky stayed, despite the bad experience at the Miners. I changed my main-weapon the my unlimited Kilic Rex. Michael, Jetman, Sholle, Mem, Earth and Slipnaet joined the team. At one point we met mister 5$ himself and he stayed for a little while to heal us. Globals were flying over us, most on the Mutated Beladoths. I even got a picture of one during a fight, wich we then globalled on. No profit, by a snap didn't make the 90%-mark, but if was a fantastic hunt. Just goes to show that during times like this, a profit isn't all to have a good time. Mission: 39 Mutated Otorugi & <10 Mutated Beladoth & Ubo Weapons: Kilic Rex with Melee Trauma Amplifier IV Decay/ loot/ return: 180,08/ 161,09/ 89,45% 20:15 : Mutated Bokol & Mutated Kamaldon I was a bit afraid when Lucky suggestion Kamaldons, Mutated Kamaldons. I'm glad we tried and succeed. Of those who hunted on Sonkra Valley only he stayed, Earth had a little break and rejoined later. Sub-Zero and Eagle88 rejoined. It was a great experience. Unfortuatly my Tracker didn't wanted to capture the global anymore, but I can say from EntropiaLife that we got one Mutated Bokol Stalker worth 131PED and five Mutated Kamaldon worth 86PED (Mature), 114PED and 83PED (both Young), 126PED (Provider) and we ended with 87PED (Mature). I looted a S & B Ardenner 25 (L) and Headshot IV (L) myself. Mission: 107 Mutated Kamaldon & 30 Mutated Bokol killpoints. Weapons: Kilic Rex with Melee Trauma Amplifier IV & Philosopher's Sword Decay/ loot/ return: 285,39/ 272,24/ 95,39% 22:00 : Yuka We were convinced that now we got the Mutated Kamaldon down, we could take on every-thing. The meanest, baddest we came up with were the Yukaas. San rejoined the team, SpikE and Kenzi were new. We got them Yukaas down already, but so went the PED-Card. There just wasn't anything in those fat bellies of 'm. We tried some more to see if the loot would turn, but it didn't for us.
