i think you need to get loot to graduate, so maybe with a different teamsetting you can get loot without having to shoot the mob?
It all depends what you compare the mobs too, araneatrox and scipulor for example hit me all the time as well. It's mostly on the lower level mobs...

You don't need to worry too much it's just a graphical error, you still gain health, but won't notice it untill you reach a new full point of health.
i think you only need 9 deeds on calypso though? lowering you investment by 90%. (not saying that you should, not saying that you shouldn't)
