Dang I went back to Underground to finish the IFN mission (the one you get clothes). But crashed. Now I got the same bug AGAIN!
I got unstuck by messing around with my game files (btw no reply from support yet ~ 36 hours). I noticed I had accumulated 5 gb of chat log files (cut into 10mb chunks by entropiatracker) so I moved them all to my storage drive. I also moved my content folder from my primary SSD to my storage drive and deleted all the dynamic content for the game. After re-downloading it and restarting the client loader (in safe mode), I was able to log in. I don't really feel like testing if I can log in again from the underground... at least until I forget the next time, but hopefully this could potentially help someone else who's stuck underground. So... possible cause in my case: chat log or dynamic content files.
G Gonna try this. Edit: i deleted ark-related files on dynamic content. Now when i logged in I'm getting the "Downloading Planet Arkadia underground" And it actually activated the loading part. I'll let ya know if it works after its done downloading Edit2: Holy crap it worked!!!! I'm 99% sure you only need to delete the arkadia files maybe not even that. Only the arkadia underground files. But it's hard to know which ones those are.
I've ben stuck a lot of times before, but this is (only) the fourth time with this particular issue. Using the TP, both above and below ground, is regularly causing a CTD for me. Though it happens far more often in the AU. A CTD like that is followed by being stuck on the loading screen. I also have less problems on European mornings, but being out in a field doesn't seem to have much of an influence. It's mainly the TPs, AU and heavily populated areas that require countless log in attempts. And sometimes it's just not possible to get in-game at all. (And yeah, FL can see me log in. Which can give weird situations: they talk to you, but you just don't seem to respond for days on end.) Relocation by support would solve 'being stuck' before, but these last times it doesn't seem a sure solution anymore. I had a support ticket closed without a reply. Later it turned out they did try to relocate my ava. But obviously it didn't help, as I was still stuck, and on the same location. Whether this was because there are so many others with the same problem, or because of a technical reason; it was still the first time that relocation was ineffective. Mysteriously, after several days of being locked out, it can suddenly be possible to log in again (even though it still takes multiple attempts), even without help. Troubleshooting says EU is online, but just not responding. And unfortunately can't provide any help in finding a solution. Also, there is another small change for me since the latest update. When being unable to log in after a CTD, repairing gives a crash file to delete. Before the update, repairing didn't turn up anything untoward. To try Neil's solution: I've checked my chat-logs, and because the logs only start since the latest Windows installation: they're a mere 150MB (I don't run tracker/EL). So the size shouldn't be a problem for me. C>users>[own named user folder]>my documents>entropia_universe>chat and private_chat I found some Ark territory files on two locations. And assumed it's the "public_user_data" ones that matter, since the other ones haven't been changed since installing. C>users>public>entropia universe>public_user_data>dynamic_content>territories_arkadia_01.pak to 18.pak is 2.13 GB So I first tried it by deleting those 18 files. They did get downloaded in the CL again (by default only the first one listed is downloaded, so you do need to tick the other Ark check-box in dynamic content yourself). Sadly this didn't solve my log in problem. Then I tried the other files: C>users>public>entropia universe>dynamic_content>territories_arkadia_01.pak to 15.pak is 1.78 GB. But deleting those 15 files didn't spark a re-download. And I'm still not able to log in. Am I looking at the wrong files?
I think you are checking wrong port. And unlikely it would response to non Entropia application, even if you will check correct one. If you want to know list of ports, you can get them here: https://account.entropiauniverse.co...ogin-connection-fa/when-i-launch-the-entropi/ But issues we have not connection, since we logged in without any issues and others can see us. Looks like something was broken in last VU, and that something causing issue with loading, after you logged in.
Ah yeah, but I wasn't checking a port: but the address MA asked us to check, when there was that lag problem. So I assumed that it was the log in address for getting in the game. (Btw, I have all the ports from the EU FAQ open, and don't think I ever had any problems with them.) But I did that before I knew FL could see you logged in. I added it to the post, because it doesn't make sense to me: if I'm logged in, why am I not in-game? Like it's a one way connection? Anyway, I'm still stumped. Only thing that seems to work, is to just have incredible patience. Still, I figured it might help to know what other people experience and what has been tried to fix it. Info from a lot of sides can sometimes help to find a (temporary) solution. And tbh: the more bored I am, the longer a post gets.
I've been having issues recently as well, the loading screen will appear, but the tip text doesn't render, and the progress bar wont fill. Deleting the pak files for the planet I'm currently on seams to do the trick, I redownload them using the clientloader though, not in game.
I redownloaded whole game, when client loader delete all files, after checking (found interesting bug during that). That was 2 weeks ago - nothing changed.
@Mathias | Arkadia is there any news from MA? If not, I have some new info related that issue. I'm on Calypso now and have zero login issues so far. At the day, when I leave Arkadia I was able to login at sixth attempt. At the same day on Calypso (one hour later) I relogged several times — all from first attempt. So in my case it was something wrong with Arkadia for sure. Hope it will be resolved ASAP, since doing 5-10 attempts on evety login with GC just awful. I corroborate. I've been on Calypso for a week and haven't had this issue once, while on Arkadia I had to spend 2...7 login attempts ~90% of times. Nothing has changed on my end. Quite obviously, this is specific to Arkadia. Please consider cockup before conspiracy.
Im at vaulth 8 in ug atm and i cant logg in it seem, i enter my logg in and it start as normal but dont load the game. I se if any of the above tip may help
I had this a couple of times after logging out in the undergound. Deleting all Arkadia planet content and downloading again fixed it for me on both occasions. I would suggest avoiding logging off the game when in the undergound.
Solid advise, but unfortunately for me the logging off is involuntary. AU crashes me, and I'm randomly (un)able to get back in. This week I was stuck (again) for a couple of days. Finally managed to log in again, to see a notice: "Server will go down in 20 minutes". Hehe, just enough time to get out of the Underground. Too bad, but still no Vaults for me.
hmm, i cant log off. well i can kill the process in task manager but i can´t shut down EU properly. anyone encountered this bug? if i wanna leave - with or without countdown- EU freezes and can only be closed thru extern means. support ticket necessary?
Yes, my second time was after a crash as well. Deleting the Arkadia planet content worked both times. I am glad to hear you managed to get back in
When that happens to me, it's usually solved by repairing in the CL. But I assume you already tried that. And there don't seem to be standard solutions for all these issues: like deleting the Ark files seems to help a lot of people when they're stuck, but for me it doesn't do anything. Anyway, better being unable to log out, than not being able to log in?
Thank you for the warning. Little too late. Had login issues on Arkadia...wtf at "Unexpected files"??? Ofc I thought I can delete...why would it even ask for it ??? Its the repair console... A big "fuck you" to MindArk...trololol...lesson learned.
yip it seems Ark UG is the big freeze the first time it happened to me I got the shits and re downloaded the entire game again which then allowed be back in 5 or so hours later 3days later back in the UG and bang same problem not really keen to go thru the downloading process again but in account to the amount of people it affects it has to be listed as a bug rather then lag issues hopefully MA will find the time to permanently fix this issue and find it in there heart to throw round some universal ammo to those effectively trying to solve the issues here
