Hello dear Arkadia dev team... sorry for the subject, couldn't resist . My understanding is: 1) let's say, you develop a gun (model, animation, textures, sounds) like you want it 2) then you specify the values (decay, rate of fire, BLP or laser etc) 3) you specify which mob lots it (or what crafted item etc) 4) MA now has a formula how high the propability is that this is looted If I am correct here, this would mean, you can also develop any kind of vehicle, correct? You could develop a bus or a hoverboard... and MA defines the chances that someone ever finds it, is that correct too? Will we see new vehicles right when Arkadia launches? Or are vehicles out of control of PPs?
While I'm thinking its not impossible, I do believe that anything that new and grand wont be around for launch, maybe some time later, but they have a full plate at the moment.
Planet Partners are able to create our own vehicles. They are technically quite challenging and take quite some time. I can say our first vehicle is in development and will come in an update after launch - most likely by August. Details of the vehicle are hush hush for now though And correct about MA setting how it loots.
So you cannot even specifiy whether it is a common item on the Planet or a rare one? Its up to MA to decide?
Yes, MA decides, how often items drop. This was staed before and DD confirmed this, loot is fully under control by MA. This makes the drops of the ES500 scanners a little wierd, because we knew, that ND knew before that they will drop and it seems, he was also aware, that they will drop like candies...
Kind of silly, since MA doesn't design the planet. So the planet partner creates high end stuff for his planet and MA decides to have it rain like candy. Plain silly, if you ask me.
MA is a massive franchise and although PPs will have huge influence on design and development in visual and identity terms and create their own mobs, weapons. fashions, transport, goods and housing they are basically buying into a franchised financial package with respect to the game engine, financial loot and profit system and MA is never going to let anyone dilute that or reduce the MA share. This is a massive multi million dollar/pound system where the profit retention and projections have been controlled to a T I would imagine. A such it won't in theory be any easier to make a profit on Arcadia than any other planet but it will be more fun and the promise of loots in the early days will seem more exciting with fewer players around and the fact you believe you have more chance when the world isn't already dominated by the uber-rich veterans owning all the unique items and lands. However if you don't have IRL money on Arcadia its the same situation you face on Calypso..
Whatever you create a vehicle or guns it should be great having different feature from previous version, should be reliable and also differ in looks. Its sound and texture should be awesome.
