Smuggler Mission

Went to the Secret Camp that's now available.

The Smuggler there asks you if you want to do a Smuggler type mission which is basically still the Payback, but doing it for them?? So you need to have the Payback mission running and then you'll be magicked to an instance where your level of Oratans are.

Coincidentally, I was asked for 400 Arkoins which just happens to be 100x the daily 4 ped IFN 'reward' I get, so, depending what stage you're at, you could be asked for 160, 240 or 320 Arkoins (if I remember the rewards correctly, if not, you get the picture)

Not sure what the payoff is though, apart from an easy 100 kills for the daily as, sadly, I got badly distracted by SWMBO at the start (who was being technically challenged by the TV remote) so could well have missed something important, but you get 2hrs to complete the 100 kills, then a 5min timer kicks in - I'm not sure if I was supposed to go find/kill/open something at this point (like in the Sal'Diresh vaults for example where you open a chest) so I ended up running round like a PJ'd noob-loon.

However, after the 5mins you then get TP'd back to the Smugglers pad but no info/feedback/what next.

The smuggler NPC was working (np4me) for about 2 weeks now.

I'd put a picture of Smuggler NPC in a Spoiler Post back on Jun 16th, & here's that pic for the curious.
After shooting some Nusul's and finding the secret base, I turned a corner and saw...

 

The instance is fine, if I only found a way to know whether I want to continue spending my money on it. Is this somehow getting you on the path to the smuggler armour? Because unless it is part of the chain I don't actually want to do the IFN drill and therefore don't seek a way to do it more quickly either.

 

100x? I think it's exactly equal to the reward you get (1 arkoin = 1 pec, no?). So it's basically an "exchange your reward for quick kills" type of deal.

 

This is great, I'm going to do my missions this way from now on. I'm also curious to see if it has some impact on a purely smuggler mission in the future. I'm on stage IV, which has 2.40 ped reward and he asked me for 2.40 ped of arkoins.

Yup, I only meant it as 400 Arkoins vs 4 ped - but yes, it is the same value.

 

ahhh, kk, now I get where the 100x came from

 

Not so much a mission, more a quick way to kill 100 Oratan (took 20mins this evening) for the price of your reward

 

Not sure if people are missing this or keeping it secret but:


Inside the Smuggler Instance (Island)

I've been killing my Mission Oratan until I reach 99/100, then I jump in the water and start grinding away on L7 Jori Stalkers until I have 2 min left on the timer and then I kill my last Oratan to complete my daily mission.

NOTE: The Jori stalkers drop crap loads of Jori Hide (I collect 900 in 1 hour 30 (could be more but I stop for a smoke break))
They also drop lots of Melee I (L) amps, and I have come out with +PED every time so far. Even managed to get some weapons off the Oratan inside.

So the daily mission is different than the 50,000 Arkcoins which the smuggler asks...?
If so, is the mission chain that you are talking about (killing 100 oro in 2 hr) like the payback mission chain for the smuggler ?

It's oraton, not oro. It is the IFN Oratan Payback mission, which the smugglers are willing to help you complete for a little cash in the form of Arkoins.
Get the daily IFN mission as normal, go to the smuggler camp with 240 koin and talk to the npc on the ground floor. If you pay him, he will send you to an instance containing only oratan prospectors of the maturity you need (plus jori in the water).

To do the Smuggler chain of missions (starting with 50k koins) go upstairs at the base and talk to the npc on that floor.

I went there, I can interact with the Smuggler upstairs but not the one on the ground level.
Anyone else having this issue?

 

You need to take the IFN mission Oratan Payback so that the smuggler will talk to you to offer an alternative way of completing it.
