Hunting Is there a reason why muscle oil becomes harder to loot for every update?

Hi A-team..

I have a question about the mobs levels and muscle oil drops.. Is there a reason why levels on the noob mobs rise for each VU, which now means that there is only 1 mob on the entire planet looting muscle oil - the Joris up to a certain level.. Carabok Punys are even lvl 10 and Halix young lvl 9, which means they drop Eye oil and not Muscle oil..

I am really wondering if there is any sane reason to this madness - and yes it IS madness, given how important muscle oil is for crafters - or it is a bug/error/whatever??

Anyways you guys NEED to change this.. It is NOT very good for planet economy or planet crafters, and it is certainly not motivating us reasonably leveled players to hunt small mobs..

Mob levels on (Arkadian) noob mobs makes absolutely NO sence, and this needs to be FIXED! (or at least give us a DAMN good explanation)..

On Calypso you have higher lvl mobs looting muscle oil - take Scipulors for instance.. I got a suggestion.. Make one of the higher level mobs (not too high, maybe small Oratans) loot muscle oil too.. It will help the demands of Muscle oil, and it will motivate hunters to hunt other things than Huons..

I can see your point and share your thoughts.

But when I look in auction I see 12 pages with muscle oil.
So I would not say it is hard to get for crafters.

Interesting, I could have sworn I was getting it on at least some of the higher level mobs. Will pay closer attention and make note tonight if I actually am or not.

 

I thought it was rare till I checked auction. But the MU is pretty high. I think it's all coming in from interplanetary trade and its far too expensive for me to use in crafting at my level. I suspect thats why there are so many pages - unreasonable pricing.

 

Yeah.. The muscle Oil you see on auction is mostly from interplanetary trading.. ATM there are some reasonable peds to earn to bring from Caly eg. David has stated that Arkadia needs to be self supplying, so that is why i am asking these questions to the A-Team.. cause the current situation contradicts that statement..

 

Ah I see.

For the moment I can look into it but I can not make any promises.
I usually keep my prices affordable though.
But I have transport costs.

I appreciate your postition Ion but muscle oil is used in a lot of low lvl bps and the current prices make skill grinding at low lvl quite expensive, especially when we have relatively low success rates due to proffession lvl or QR. I just think muscle oil is one of those stackables that needs to be dropping more on arkadia.

Yes I agree with you.
It would be good if it drops more, although I think this is a MA thing?
And I understood they have vacation atm.

If I can arrange any, it will be at low MU.
Otherwise it is useless for me to get it over.

If this is indeed an MA thing, it makes me wonder if MA is deliberately trying to avoid Arkadia becoming self supplying.. Cause if MA indeed chooses what to drop from what mobs and in what rates, it sure looks like it, with the constant level nerfs and the lack of higher lvl mobs dropping it..

Cant wait to see what Dave or Cyrus has to say about this matter..

 

I don't think that is likely. I actually thought that with the oil no longer apparantly dropping on halix it might already be available on a tougher mob. I'm on caly at moment but when I am back I plan to try a few different mobs to see if its now available elsewhere.

 

I dont know if Dave is gonna reply here, but just talked to him ingame about the muscle situation.. he is saying this:

Animal muscle oil previously looted from Halix and Carabok only, is not dropping from any mob on Arkadia since the last VU. If it was planned this way by the balance manager at MA to encourage interplanetary trade, then so be it. They can do whatever they want. If some fool in Sweden just spilled coffee on his keyboard and accidentally elliminated muscle oil off the planet and then went on summer vacation, gah, nothing we can do about it. I have to say though, that I'm getting tired of reading that everything that sucks about Arkadia is an MA responsibility. I had been coaching new hunters to try to loot muscle oil because it is in such high demand here. Now what do I tell them, "You picked the wrong planet mate. Fly to Calypso and hunt 'Bibo and then fly your muscle oil back to Arkadia. You'll get a fortune for it."

Arkadia development team: Great job with the placement of the clouds and the trees. Too bad you don't have any say about anything else that happens here.

 

Muscle oil continues to drop from Jori but they are a pain to hunt.

Things get screwed up from time to time. It doesnt really matter whos fault it is, it just needs to be fixed. Arkadia dev team are aware of the issue and I am sure that between them and MA it will be sorted out. But perhaps not as soon as I would like.

True, but in very small amounts. I don't think this has anything to do with mob level, either; on Caly faucervix (which range from around level 9 to 13 IIRC, young to provider) and cornundacauda (about the same) drop buckets of the stuff. Muscle oil is the oil used in largest quantities and it drops the least - this simply makes no sense!

There are some basic items completely missing from Arkadia loot drops, too, as I mentioned in another thread - notably high speed control components (used in some very basic mining enhancers) and tier II components. These are just the ones I've noticed - there may be others.

 

Tier II components drop from hadraada—at least they did on july 6.

 

I am on Caly, let me know if I need to bring some.

Looted these as well from different mobs so definitely not a planet shortage of them, you might just hunt the wrong mobs for it Kinnison.
looted more on Arkadia then from the mobs I use to hunt on Calypso actually...

 

Mind telling me which mobs? I ought to mention that the highest I can go, currently, on mob strength is realistically small beladoth - I can manage teladon young, eventually, but it's incredibly inefficient. Madana (even young) beat me easily - I assume that's because my armour is no good against some of the damage (maybe acid, looking at the mob animation). Around level 25-30, depending on damage type distribution, is about my limit.

I've hunted jori of all sizes, oro ditto, hadraada, carabok, bokol and halix - and have the grand total of 12 tier II, which I suspect is stock from Calypso.
