Wednesday IFN Grinder Event

Come on out every Wednesday 0000 MA time for two 30 minute grinder sessions to hunt IFN Creatures. This is a great way to meet new people and get those IFN Challenges out of the way, no matter what level of experience you are.

First event starts Dec 7th 2011.

Details:
Each week a specific IFN Challenge mob will be selected at random and one specific spot is selected to hold the event at. Details will be posted here every Friday of what creature will be hunted and what location the event will be held at. Each session requires at least 5 participants to start, in event of less then 5 participants ticket prices will be repayed.

There will be two 30 minute grinders held each week.

Trade Terminal Fury:
No IFN creature can withstand the fury of massive amounts of Arkadians with trade terminal items....

The first 30 minute grinder is trade terminal items only armor, weapons, faps, etc, anything from a trade terminal can be used, nothing else.

Grinder Madness:
Absolute free for all madness on IFN creatures.

The second 30 minute grinder is a free for all, use anything you can get your hands on.

Each 30 minute grinder requires a ticket purchase, both to be payed before the start of the first grinder session. Do not need to participate in first session if you only want to participate in second session and vise versa.

First 30 minute grinder is 10PED per ticket.
Second 30 minute grinder is 25PED per ticket.

100% ticket price payout for each session.
50% First place
30% Second place
20% Third place

Placement is determined by most loot (tt value) obtained in each session by a particular avatar. Entropia Tracker's Loot Tracker will be used to capture this data. All payouts will happen after both sessions are completed and winners are determined, patience is to be expected as to accurately assess the data will take some time on organizers part.

Sessions are organized in teams, all teams are damage share loot, the number of teams and tickets available for the sessions depends on how many event organizers are present, 11 tickets for each organizer present, for each session. There will be at least 11 tickets and 1 organizer available each week, for each session, unless stated otherwise at least 3 days prior to the event, in which case all pre-payed tickets for that week will be payed back.

You can pre-register for event by sending PM to "KMax" on forum or in game and pre-paying for event in advance in game. First come first serve for tickets, must have payed in advance, in game, to reserve your ticket. Team organizers are encouraged to participate in event but must pay for their ticket price as per event rules.

If you want to help be a team organizer for this event or want to volunteer as a loot tracker backup in case a team organizer crashes during the event. Contact me by sending a PM to "KMax" here on forum or in game.

All organizers and volunteer tracker (if needed) results will be shown publicly on this forum as screen shots of the loot tracker log, to ensure no false data and/or tampering with log results. Everyone is encouraged to run loot tracker to ensure accuracy of these posted logs.

Each session starts when team organizer gives the "start" command and session stops when organizer gives the "stop" command. Both team organizers and loot tracker backup volunteers (if needed only) are required to post screenshot of loot tracker log up on forum immediatly after each session. Hopefully this data will match very closely to anyone else out there that may be checking tracker accuracy.

Ammendment 1: Looted item tt values will be gathered after each session by that teams organizer, that data will then be sent to the event organizer to determine payouts. There will be some sort of break between the two sessions will try to limit this break to 10-15 min as much as possible.

 

Ow.. the yellow against a white background is very hard to see

Keep in mind there are a few (like 4) different skins and only one has the black background (though Arkadian Night is a deep blue)..

This could be fun. I'll see what I can do about joining in. Midnight MA time I am usually cooking dinner for me and the family so I may be able to join the second session. Will there be a break between the sessions and for how long?.

 

Yes there will most definitely be some sort of break between sessions as team organizers need to reset their teams and get organized for the next session. Was thinking not to long though 10-15 min maybe.

I would love to come, but wont be able to make it the next two weeks. I have a class during this time. I hope to make it during the holidays though!

 

have you tried tracker in team lately the values seem to be a little fubar. i told starfinder but not sure if he has had time to fix yet.

 

Yes some are wacky. I figured out what causes it. if Entropedia.info has a PED value listed at .1 it think it is 1 PED. should be 10 PEC not 1 PED. Then also stated that PED should be PEC on everything. Sent screen shots of what I found out and tracked down. Not sure when starfinder will get it fixed either have not heard back.

So when using the tracker there will be some manual work to be done, hence the patience at the end is expected because I'll have a lot of work to do to correctly calculate the values.

 

Less then 7 hours until first go at this event. Hope to see a few of you out at 8 coins town. I will be there at 2300 MA time today to start registering people for the event. I hope I have things organized enough so I can also participate without being to bogged down with tasks and not have to take up to much of peoples time afterwards with calculating loots to figure out the winners.

PS: All tickets must be purchased before start of the first hunting session even if you only want to participate in the second session. This is to reduce any processing time between sessions. Also all prizes are handed out after last session is complete, patience is needed at the end as ET does not calculate the loots accutatly and requires some manual work from me. Still only 11 tickets are available, no-one has hinted to me yet they are interested in being a second team organizer.

This weeks Grinder against the Scoria has been canceled. No-one showed up Oh well maybe next week.......

Ya it's ok, I'll keep it going each week if it happens or not Always nice to have an option out there as an event everyone can enjoy if they want. Also if there is a tweak in the event you think would make it better with keeping the same perspective of the event alive please suggest it.

Stipulations on why some event rules are the way they are:
-I chose during the week because I can't guarantee I'll be around Friday eventing - Sunday evening every week. I do some outdoors activities and these usually supersede everything else
-The first 30 min is tt items only to equalize everyone out a little more so most damage inflicted is more evenly distributed so anyone can get the kills and get the credit towards their IFN challenge. It also makes for a real team effort on most of the creatures.
-The second 30 min is free for all to keep the spirit of open event alive for higher level players.
-No real reason for the chosen ticket prices wanted to keep them lower price for more participation, but they still may be to high for amount of people on Arkadia.

PS: Also if there is someone with artistic talent out there interested in making a ad banner for this event let me know. I'll event pay a little bit for it if you want. I really do not have an artistic mind, I am a lower level software engineer we are more procedural and to focused on little things to make anything creative and imaginative.

Filesize should be kept to under 500kb
Files must be in .png, .jpg, or .gif format only. No flash.

No IFN Grinder again... No one showed again.

 

Here are a few suggestions for increased participation...

1) change the name... it's a solid Tuesday for me, even now. When I see "Wednesday event", I don't even bother reading it till Wednesday.
2) get rid of the fee and just make it a team TT hunt

 

1. I can see that but 00:00 MA time is used so it is acutally Wednesday and not Tuesday. This is a world wide game and we all have to play on game timezone time, hence using day of week with MA time. But if this is totally confusing it can be taken out even though I see this making things no better for visibility.

2. Get rid of event fee? Then event is pointless. Whats the point to attend then, there is nothing to win? Not every event can be designed for free and winning have to come out of the organizers pocket, this way it makes it more of a community event and everyone chips in. I make nothing doing this event, I have to also pay my entry fee to participate. Not to mention you can just go hunt the mobs with whatever you want anyways why would people show up any more if there was no fee, there would be even less incentive to attend?

 

I'm just saying what happens with me. Obviously this isn't a factor for everyone. But the last two weeks I've unconsciously passed over your event until after it's passed, not remembering that it's on my Tuesday.

Well, I guess different people join a group hunt for different reasons. For me, a fee inhibits me from joining in; I wouldn't win a contest like this because I play eco and have a small ped card, so it's kind of pointless to pay to join when I can get more mobs killed solo and more loot for less expense. For me the reason to join a TT team hunt would simply be to have fun taking down some big mobs with a horde of TT guns.
