there are many crafter, myself included with foreign planet BPS that just need the materials from other planets to use them. I'm really surprised no one has thought of this by shipping to crafters on other planets or just moving from one to another AH and marking up in between....:banhammer2:

Most of those "rare" materials from other planets are used so rarely on ark that they expire on auction with no buyers.

I sometimes advertise looking for import of foreign resources but rarely get a response. For a while I had one guy doing supply runs for me but I don't see him online anymore.

I take trips to Arkadia every couple weeks and would be happy to bring along stackable supplies when I'm already taking a Warp Flight. Personally, I only take warps on weekends that I don't leave town in RL since they're too early for me (USA time) during the week.

I already bring all my Muscle Oil and often buy big Caly stacks for <100.75% and relist smaller stacks on Ark for >102% - but I know that'll sell in hours. (At least before I posted this. ) It covers a big portion of my personal transportation costs and takes about as much effort as bending down to pick up a dime off the street, but it isn't worth making a special trip for. With Arkadia's slower / less active economy there's too much time risk for most of the other stuff.

If you (Mightymax & Kikki) would place an order with an exact Amount Needed, MU offered, and Time available for delivery I, and I'm sure alot of other people, would be much more likely to pay attention - I'm not going to tie up 500+ PED for a 3% profit that may or may not happen a week away, but locking up the PED for 60 minutes is a very different story. Placing an order on auction covers all that and makes it easy for people who are doing last minute shopping before hopping between planets - but costs 1 PED per day. If you place the order in an ArkForum post you may get 5+ people showing up with deliveries who expect quick & easy sales, but if you say you're no longer interested to everyone after the 1st seller you can expect them to ignore anything else you're looking for.

Either way, to a lot of traders, being certain of a small & easy profit is more appealing than a potentially big profit with a chance of loss / no sale that requires lots of effort. (Although... those can be fun too! :anticipation:)

Yes, I think if people posted resources they needed to be imported into Arkadia on the forums, I think that'd help alot with the economy, and make trading alot more smoother.

Something like KikkiJikki's need to buy stuff thread. I like that thread

And also I thought of one possible way to minimize this, and that is to maybe 'book' trade offers. So with regards to importing foreign resources, the first person who contacts you about the trade and arranges a time to meet up would get trade priority over someone who hasn't 'booked' a trade before hand. Of course this may be more idealistic than possible and you'd deal with haggling MU over someone who physically gets there first.

Interesting feedback here. I haven't been a fan of the auction house order system. I have to tie up significant ped for each order for an extended period. My cash flow is very volatile. I can start the day at 10k on my card and have it gone by the time I finish the days crafting owing to various purchases. I can usually free up peds to do a purchase or two at short notice but tying up 500 ped or so for each order for a week can be a big problem. That's why I've been using the forum. And I generally recommend contacting me before you purchase so that you know I have the peds ready. And I tend to buy in larger quantities than most individuals can supply. For example I am regularly advertising in the #Arkadia channel to by up to 500TT of resource X.

It has been thought of by more than one of us to have a supply business. The problem is getting that large amount of PED together to start up, because you really need to have stockpiles on every planet to make profit with the least amount of overhead. I myself am looking forward to the Universe Wide auction that is coming.
