Some annoying issues... or is it just me?

Hello Dear Arkadians! Firstly, I want to mention this is not related only to Arkadia but to Caly as well.
I simply want confirmation that I'm not that crazy/paranoid :nurse:
There are 2 things that are very annoying to me while hunting and that IMO cause loss of PEDs... small, but still.
    1. "Failed to move within range" messages. These are very annoying and I can't come up with any reasons why it's happening; I drag a mob's health bar and double clik on it start shooting. If too far, my ava is running/walking until the proper range and starts the mayhem. On many occasions, I get the above mentioned message; if I have the Auto clicked, the ava will continue to walk until the proper distance is found... except that I get right to the mob! Even if use my Marber Bravo (150 m range) I had cases where I had to walk straight to the mob.
    2. When a mob gets close, it takes my ava some time to aim... sometimes after each shot! It moves sloooooowly from lft to right (or vice-versa) for the next shot. I'm one that likes fast kills even if sometimes it means some overkill, so I tend to use very fast guns for close combat. While my ava takes 0.5 to 1 second to adjust, my high attack guns loose their advantage.
So... I'd like to know if anyone else has experience any of the above? If yes, any advice to avoid this?

Yup experienced them both as I'm sure we all have-its pretty common.

    For #1-
If you find the 'move to target' is screwed up just left click to shoot the mob. That will at least get the agro and 'auto aim' is should work fine after that.

    For #2-
I think only MA can make a difference on this one.It happens all the time on the prospectors,They zig zag wildly sometimes on approach, especially if they are partially blocked by another mob/tree etc.Aim mode and mouse skills are the only thing you can do to get around that.

imo 'move to target' and 'select next mob' need a little tweaking as do a few hit boxes.

I almost always use aim mode with 'move to target' off because it's so frustrating but when hunting mobs with mind numbingly bad hit boxes-Yarijak,Dromia etc-you basically have no choice but to drag the health bar(or just highlight the mob)but that's probably going a little off topic so I'll leave it there. :)

You'll find quite a bit has been written on this in various forums, best look for the keyword 'hitbox'. It occurs mostly with mobs that have a tall, slender outline, especially birds. But also Rextelum has it.

You can only hit those from a distance when they are directly facing you, or turned exactly 180° away. Small mobs like Ostelok e.g. I consider good melee mobs because of that, since they turn as soon as they are aggroed on you. But at a Rex's shoesize the situation is really not ideal.

Sometimes devs are trying to tweak the hitboxes when there are too many complaints, but a real solution has not been found so far.

Very much recommend turn off "move to target" in options. It's more trouble than its worth.

I also don't use "next target" instead manually moving my cursor in 3rd person over-the-shoulder-mode. It's no trouble and makes the hunting experience a little more enjoyable for me. But of course that's a matter of personal preference.

I'm absolutely with you all the way on that(till I get to something like Yarrijak then I have to use it.They are almost impossible to hit even standing right in front of you.

I just did an Aakas run and found that about 1 in four or five statues did the 'out of range' garbage but what I did notice is that when it did it the Aim was just slightly above their head ,only by few mm but it seemed to be enough to cause the issue.

I wonder if its possible to program the auto aim to hit the absolute centre of the hit box rather than near the edges.

I've found that when I move around myself the "failed to move into range" is usually fixed. Happens just with scanning though, since I hardly ever touch a gun.
I also have mobs in a Merry-go-Round with me at the center some times. Then it also helps to move away from the bad spot. In areas where I hunt a lot I know where the Merry-go-Rounds are placed.

That's the chicken bug. Happens to me a lot because I hate to play on FPS mode and yes, I use next target as well. As for the dancing mobs I posted this video once, seems new mob feature to try avoid player first:

Great info; I know some of it was covered... but I was curious how everyone is dealing with it as it is very annoying to me as mentioned already.
    Thank you all for posting!

You can also use a scope and aim at the mob then you won't walk toward it if you're already in range.

I too have issues (as we all do I assume) with range. I use Next Target + 3d person view and manually move closer when that happens. If my avatar is within range but still moves towards the mob I break, maneouver and try again. It's annoying but not enough to get me riled up about it.
I find the "locked on dead target" much more annoying.

I think it's a combination of two issues: the hitbox and the "lateral attack" which makes the mobs attacking with their sides. I've seen this with almost all mobs, where their bodies are turned 90 degrees when they're attacking.
It's not something that stops people from playing for sure, but is annoying and it does make you loose some PEDs through more decay on armor of need to FAP because you're wasting time taking a mob down. It's also causing minor looses for MA; I for one have a limited play time and I used to be able to take down a number of mobs in a certain amount of time. Now, with certain mobs, it will take me an extra number of minutes to complete my "quota"... so I have to continue the next day.
As I said, it's not a "sky is falling" problem for sure... just something that maybe the devs can look at before working on some new stuff.
