Do you get skills from sweating, except of SG? When you sweating a mob you also get some CR, Courage and such but those come from a mob attacking you, not because you are sweating it, right? So you can just let a mob attack you and you will get the same amount of skills, or the fact that you use the sweating toll adds anything to it (on top of getting SG)?
IME the defensive skills gained is the same w or w/o sweating. You can just stand there and let the mob attack you and do nothing and gain the same skills.
According to entropedia the sweat gatherer profession is build up with: Attributes: Intelligence 2 Attributes: Psyche 5 General: Courage 3 Mindforce: Concentration 10 Mindforce: Sweat Gatherer 80 So technically 3% of your skills gains from sweating will be courage, so sweating helps a bit with your evader profession, even if the monster isn't hitting at you. Ofc it only helps a very very very tiny bit, but every bit helps
Again, what I'm asking is - do I get more courage when I'm using the tool? Because I get courage by just standing still and letting the mob attack me.
if you are just trying to get skills by being hit....you might as well be sweating for those skills so you get some bottles of sweat to sell...
The fact Courage contributes 3% to SG profession doesn't mean you get it from the tool. You might as well build SG passively w/o the tool at the same speed, that's what I'm asking about... It's not entropedia knowledge, I'm asking people who ever tested it in the field or knows about such tests
All the professions that effects Courage (%) ... Animal Tamer 5 BLP Pistoleer (Hit) 3 BLP Sniper (Hit) 3 Brawler (Hit) 4 Cryogenic (Hit) 3 Dodger 6 Electro Kinetic (Hit) 3 Evader 7 Gauss Sniper (Hit) 3 Grenadier (Hit) 3 Knifefighter (Hit) 4 Laser Pistoleer (Hit) 3 Laser Sniper (Hit) 3 Mounted BLP (Hit) 3 Mounted Grenadier (Hit) 3 Mounted Laser (Hit) 3 One Handed Clubber (Hit) 4 Pet Handler 5 Plasma Pistoleer (Hit) 3 Plasma Sniper (Hit) 3 Pyro Kinetic (Hit) 3 Sweat Gatherer 3 Swordsman (Hit) 4 Two Handed Clubber (Hit) 4 Whipper (Hit) 3 So if my interpretation is correct, you should gain more during an attack then sweating, since when you are attacking, you are also building up more related professions at the same time. jc
I will listen to you if you tell me why it does. As I already have said twice, the fact that Courage contributes to SG doesn't prove you get it from using the sweating tool, unless you tested your skill gains /w and w/o the tool. If you are unable to understand the logic behind the last sentence and will keep drilling that "it does", it won't really help.
OK Endy, i will try to let it make sense to you, but please have an open mind since i am trying to help you out. There has been a lot of research in the past (search on planet calypso forum for example) about how professions work and how all the skills and attributes contribute to a profession. Every time you do something for a profession (let's say shoot a gun) you can gain a skill (or attribute) in that profession. So if you shoot a laser handgun for example and you gain a skill for the hit profession there is a 38% chance the skill will be handgun, 14% chance the skill will be Laser weapon technology, 9% chance for weapons handling (and so on, check entropedia for total distrubutions. So each skill that contributes to a proffession can and will be gained by doing something in that profession. This has been tested by people way more statistically minded by me. Other than that when i started it was still possible (and not even frowned upon) to trap mobs so you could sweat them. Back then i gained courage skills from sweating a mob that was unable to come close enough to me to hit me.
That's the only part relevant to what I'm asking, thanks! (Although back then there was no tool, but I think it's still valid) I'm perfectly aware of how professions and skills work.
No skill has been found to contribute to the Profession Level that could not be gained (if unlocked) by doing the activities of such Profession. (I was one of the early researchers of skills effects on professions and health and got access to a lot of data from trustworthy sources)
If you would then Harmonys first reply would have given you the full answer already. Might want to be a bit more patient with people who try to help, they can't know what you know and what not yet.
Using the tool DOES add Courage. Just do it find out for yourself. I sweat quite a bit lately and YES, just clicking on the tool will give you Courage, how much more simple can we make it?
