I discovered this Unlimited Piron PBR-10 today on the steaming corpse of a Riptor. So at the moment it is the only one of its kind. I've done decay tests and entered the details in Entropedia. See the link above. It has a higher fire rate than the L PBRs at 59 per minute and the range is also better at 66 metres. Also the tier rates on this one are quite nice. See the images below for that. Current TT is approx 66ped. (Max 100ped). Unfortunately the dps doesn't really suit my hunting needs so I am looking to sell. I am happy to receive offers here in this thread or by PM. Also if you want to share your opinion on the value, I am fine with that happening in this thread. Normally that would get stopped by forum moderators but I am explicitly giving my consent.
Nice find KJ, small question though, the DPP which was entered on the Entropedia page, is that accurate? Seems a bit low for a weapon like this.
Seems the other UL pirons have low dpp as well. I am interested though. Keeping an eye on this thread.
I ran the decay test twice. So yeah it seems to be correct. PBR-25 has dpp 2.5 so it looks like the trade off for ul is reduced dpp.
Gratz, very nice discovery (tiers rates too). Seems the magic loot-men in the sky heard the requests for UNL weapons. Hehe, was kinda hoping against hope that the DPP would be better. That's unfortunately a bit too heavy trade off (for me at least). Good luck on the sale. I'm curious to see what the MU will be in the end. Oh, and the Entropia page from the link shows, but somehow I don't see on the weapons list itself?
This is consistent with what I remember from when they first appeared, i.e. by design they give better dps for their level but lower dpp. Maybe not so useful for everyday hunting, but for events, instances, team hunts and emergencies weapon? Pretty decent IMO. Also, waaaaay better dpp than any Gravis. Good luck with the sale
A bit, but I can't see any use for the gun to be honest. The eco screws it up really bad unfortunately.
I absolutely agree the dpp is a problem. But if you look at the Gravis series and run the scenario where you are lvl 15 (maxed on this weapon) then dpp for those weapons is 2.1 to 2.3 for the ones currently listed in entropedia. In fact its not until you reach lvl 40 or so that the Gravis guns become a better choice. And clearly there is a market for those. Regards, KikkiJikki
Dpp is a mechanism to get bigger globals and hofs like a slider. So the answer to this gun is if it fits your playstyle. Low dpp isn't always bad. It just is if you don't get multipliers to make it work for you.
Not really on board with this theory. I'm a big believer in minimising cost to kill when it doesn't screw too much with fun. Good dpp is not the only way to do that but it is generally important.
You statement is true on other professions too (crafting, mining). It's a gamble. Didn't say it was smart.
Gratz on the discovery. The low DPP is in trend with my unlimited Piron PBP-10 at ~2.6 DPP (I did a fruit-test twice with different results ...) I get a few offers from time to time so there is a market for weapons like these. Good luck with the sale!
