Quad-Wing Equus Auctions Auctions for the special-edition Quad-Wing Equus spacecraft have now begun. The listings can be found under the Global Auction section, with a start bid of 50000 PED. Start and end times for the 25 auction listings will be staggered at various hours of the day and over a period of three weeks so that interested parties from all time zones can participate. Upon completion of each Quad-Wing Equus auction, the winning bidder will receive a special NanoWarp I device that provides warp capability for Equus-class ships, along with a Space Thruster device that allows for atmospheric entries and departures. Both the NanoWarp I and Space Thruster devices are repairable. The Quad-Wing Equus luxury spacecraft sacrifices cargo space in exchange for rapid transport capability, and thus has lower cargo capacity than other Quad-Wing ships (10 items / 40kg). Also, the top speed of the Equus degrades if the total carried weight (cargo + cockpit) exceeds 100kg, while warp capability becomes disabled once the total carried weight exceeds 150kg. Thats right UL warp drive and space thruster. Taxi service PLUS but only low max weight
I hope nobody buys any.... its a worthless ship, when the stats are taken into account.... who flies naked? the weight allowance kills any thought of use by anyone other than pirates.
tbh I hope they are completely useless then I might actually retain some value in my privateer despite MA seemingly being determined to undermine its value to zero.
These are perfect for hunting other ships. Not so useful for anything else as warp and speed are lost if you carry any amount of normal gear. Target market seems clear to me.
So it's a good time to carry some "Common Dung" with you again, when you are going to fly somewhere, lol
Common dung would be a great thing! think about how much slower the new quads would fly..... they are so bad they almost take movement decay.... Dung would make them slower than a quad, and sitting ducks for retaliation :biggrin2:
Let's see what comes first, 25 of these dumb quads being sold for a sum for >125K USD, or a 500K USD law suit from Ferrari S.p.A.
One big question is does the max carried weight apply only to stackables or to the entire carried weight of the avatar. If it's just stackables then the ferrari has some use (I'd put value at 5k ped). If it's all equipment, then the value isn't even 500 ped and the thing will only be used by: Pirates Motherships for defense fighter or scout ship Noobs with no skills or equipment and too much money In any case, 50k ped is much too much for these features.
I see a potential business opportunity for someone willing to contract their services in one of these in role 2) above, but that's an awful lot of money to put down up front on a business venture when you essentially have to take a slice of someone else's profits just to do business.
Did you forget about a possibility of their use. The owner or privateer/mothership can use this quad if he needs an urgent move to another planet, without the cost of a jump on the main ship. These ships are inconvenient for the Pirates, as obtained loot will not give possibility to fly away too fast from the battlefield or will deactivate a WARP-function. This ship would be convenient for me for example, for quick replacement of the goods in the Shop on a different planet (Item (Items) has a low weight), but unfortunately, its price is prohibitive. I would have thought about buying it for $500. This ship will never pays off for any owner for $5000.
