Update 3: Event list is functioning yet again, so put up this weeks Puny Wars now. So make sure your weapons is in good condition and then go out and have some fun with them
Not Official Puny wars I'm afraid But there is another event this weekend by a generous player where you can win a Arkadian Underground Deed in an 1 hour long event open for everyone. Gallard And Other
Well, I'm afraid I will be on Calypso for the Halloween Mayhem. First time ever I've chosen to do an event like that. Maybe afterwards I will head back to Arkadia and join in that one, with a grenade launcher, because that's just epic puny hunting there
It would be nice with more mobs available during these events (or have the event split on multiple locations). Running around looking for red dots is not my idea of fun.
On the occasions that I have been in the event area, the spawn is good at the start, but bad at the end. I would agree that the respawn rate is not as desired during those events. Then again, the last time I looked at the details of the events, they were only 30 minutes long. I remember about a year ago now maybe, that 1-2 players were organizing weekly events on that event area that lasted an hour, and the spawn seemed fine. (with an average of 20 or so players hunting during the event.)
Puny Wars is on again, I even heard someone looted some weapons off some puny mobs too so they seem to be equipping themselves for the return...
Lizzy Will Set Up an Event for Those of us that Cant Join in as were too healthy ;( as I have just hit 140 health points we had better start it at that level and then think its got to be rocket blasting R US. I might Even get my Gallard and Carabock missions up a bit as well at the same time I will also make sure the title is appropriate so that it isn't confusable. Events in This area that are 30 mins long should be ok - unless you get people area blasting but again this should be preventable in the event settings by the organizers. If you take the free tp option to the area then it might be you need to move around the land area. they quite often like to hide around.
I was a very present participanto of puny wars, I even won 3 times in a row, but I used to participate only the extended ones since they can fit on my time schedule. The official one is 2 hours before I leave work :/ And hey, I finished 10K carabok mission and I'm close to finish 10k gallard thanks to this event.
I won XD Unfortunately two people felt the need for giving me negative reputation points for winning (that, or because I asked people to stop spamming) which means I won't be able to join events where the reputation limit is set to to 1000. Support case has been filed regarding abuse of the reputation system and hopefully I will get my points back. The system though, needs an overhaul.
To be fair, you posted on the forums earlier you were looking for a rocket/grenade launcher on the forums. Now, as I was not online or present at the event, this is more of a theory of what might have happened; 1 : You went in blasting full power with a rocket/grenade launcher, killing a hell of a lot more mobs than the average hunter during the event. (taking into account most hunters are probably new players, that do not understand that winning an event with that kind of power tool compared to tt/lowbie guns is very easy unless you get stiffed by the loot) This mowing down of mobs would at first might lower the spawn, and second might be considered as an unfair competition resulting into -rep. 2 : You just got very, very lucky, and people were jelly and took it out on you with the rep system. Don't take this the wrong way, I do not try to get you into an even worse mood with false theory's. pro-tip : Maybe some more information might be useful, because I can be completely wrong.
Almost correct. I used my Barbella unamped (~5dps?) and replied "I'll give a neg rep if you don't stop spamming" when someone asked ever second minute for "switching rep" which is abusing the system.
In all fairness, rep trading is as old as events itself are, so no surprise there. -rep could be because of your comment, yes. TBF, Arkadia is really a planet of it's own, with it's own group of player that behave differently as to players on Calypso. There are also a lot of new players who do things very easy going, and are not used to ignoring comments made by a stranger that come off as rude. As for your current rep standing below 1000, there might be event coming your way that enable you to restore your reputation.
Trading reputation, iirc, has always been done by a comment at the end of the event and it is usually done like "...and don't forget to vote on the players and event". Begging for something, beginning already when others are still wishing each other good luck, is bad practice. Anyways, after giving it some more thought I've realized I couldn't really care less. I was being grumpy about it yesterday for no reason at all really. --/-- Looking forward to next round!
Nice that the Puny Wars are still going on. They are a great experience for starters. Especially since they are free to enter. Awesome initiative. Btw, it might still be nice to also have every once in a while a Puny event that's accessible for all players. So Mentors can play together with their Disciples in an event like this. (Maybe have a small entry fee if the flow needs to be stemmed a bit?)
Event list is down again unfortunately so these events will be postponed until it is up and working again, see OP
Damn it, was wondering why i didn't see arkadia in events. Hope to see thoses daily and weekly event coming back quick As i do my IFN challenges for thoses mobs mostly with the events
