I had this idea late one night (in fact woke up at 1AM with it): I'm told that these days, 3D printing isn't impossibly expensive and produces items made out of clear plastic - which can obviously be painted. Presumably, somewhere in the depths of Entropia partners' servers there are 3D models of various Entropia items such as armour and weapons, and they could probably be translated into whatever format the 3D printing software uses. I'm also assuming that Entropia-connected companies go to various trade and game shows. How about turning up wearing (for example) Shadow armour? Some of the Arkadian armours might be even better for this. Perhaps some of the ladies turning up wearing Hermes or Spartacus might be even better. :dribble:
A 3d model for a game is not as precise as a 3d model for printing/manufacturing. For example if u look at the model for the Valc car. The wheels isn't round, they are hexagon, but the texture helps to make the mirage of a round wheel. So it's not just a matter of digging out a model and print it, u haveto convert it and that's a hard work. Hmm... what about custom models of people's avatars. No clue what this would cost, but it might be cool to have a 10" tall Calin by my comp.
check out this thread might be inspiring http://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/f...ntropia-Universe-stuff&highlight=paper+models
First post here.. I actually think that the easiest way to promote the game would be to have lots of players stream it at the same time, on let's say twitch.tv. That would attract some people not knowing about what EU is and make them curious to try it out I think.
I actually thought about making Resin models of people personalized avatars. Thought that might be pretty cool. But then I was thinking about the TOS and was wondering if that would be in violation of it. What do you think? In regards to you avatar and the way it looks, do you own your characters customization looks?
if its maded for personal use / fun its ok but whatever use to gain any finnancial benefit is promited
