This is true, but those times there were not many repairers on board. There were only 1 or two RK-5s on most stations, I believe (I was there and recall it distinctly since i had 2k ores on me at the time!). SI is important but repairers are even more important. Even a ship with only modest SI and a hoard of repairers will be very hard to shoot down, think half a dozen RK-20s at each station. Privateers might actually have a big advantage here because the repair points are so close together and there are only 2, though I'm not sure how many repairers can fit in that room, but I'd say... 10 on each station at least? I know it will negatively impact the volume and convenience of interplanetary trade, but I'm still looking forward to when logout safety is removed. It will make space much more interesting, require more teamwork and organization, and I'm sure we'll see a lot more fleet operations and convoys, which will make things a lot more fun. Question... would a warp mine bring down a whole fleet or just one ship? Note to mods: We have some good discussion here I think, and even tho it's been discussed before, space is changing, so it's good to bring people up to speed on what safety issues there are now. I hate to ask the mods for a favor but maybe we can split the relevant posts into an appropriately named thread like "Warp flight safety" or something? since the "petition" issue in the title has already been addressed by Marty and others and isn't being discussed anymore.
