Attention Arkadians It brings us great pleasure to invite you all to this weekends event. We request that you get your weapons cleaned, ammo stocks filled and get ready for some massive Oratan onslaught. If you are ready for some action, please assemble at REPULSE FIREBASE (Coordinates 15015, 15047). The attacks are estimated to hit on Friday the 7th of August 2015 @ 19:00 and expected to end as soon as every last Oratan has been eliminated. The IFN personnel will be available to give healing so get ready for full support.
That may not be such a bad thing after 12hrs of shooting :biggrin2: It looks like our 'regular' events but you got my wondering with 'Time Challenge' part. Does that mean something different or will I have to wait and see?
Is this an event for fun or are there prizes too win? also would my 40 dollar starter pack gear be enough to join in? or maybe enough to join in with a team?
Is a shared mob event, regardless you are in a team or not, as long you shoot, you get your slice of loot calculated by the ammount of damage you do. Personal opinion, if you are a new player like 3 months or less, I woudn't shoot unless you want to build skills, but surelly is worth watch, just watch out for some official mistaken you for afk evader.
I have a serious question (for once). Will melee have any negative impact on kills, say, increased Unreachable status? Or is it just a case of target the bum to avoid blocking it?
Melee has nothing to do with mobs going unreachable, happens as easily with ranged weapons if the person holding it don't realize that you need to move around sometimes and not stand in one spot the entire time, as then the player will be just like any other object the mobs can get stuck on thus resulting in the unreachable effect. So in short, keep moving no matter what weapon you use
saltkin, the events are open to everyone. Even noobs can do good in them. They are good at building skills especially when the mob whumps the tar out of you Watching my body parts fly in many directions at once has build more than one defensive skill during said events. With that, you do not have to be in a team. The loot is shared, meaning that doing any damage to the mob you get a cut of the loot, it's roughly estimated on the damage you do to it. If they hit an All Time High, which HAS happened before in events like this, your 2 to 3 ped you dumped into ammo on the thing can be worth 2 to 300 ped worth of loot. You don't have to turn your gun barrel red hot either on the mob, just a slow steady fire works fine too for getting skills and loot. Often times you will find yourself dying a lot and may only get a few shots in before you are whumped dead again anyways. By slowing down your fire rate a tad it just may help you avoid the attention of the mob for a little longer. Also, when folks are firing weapons that burn a few ped a shot, versus your ped every 20 shots or so weapon, you are NOT going to compete with them on 'bigger damage'. One other hint, sometimes when things get really active, slower systems can have problems, many people will turn their graphics and affects down to about medium BEFORE coming to the event place so they can play without horrid lag or constant system dumping. The main thing with these events is to have fun. Hope to see you there. sluggo
As Sluggo said. Sometimes a person can set a 10PED ammo limit and walk away with a rifle worth 250 PED. Happened to me once. But don't expect anything. Less aggrevation that way.
bought myself 10 boxes yesterday as preparation for this event. Now just finishing work and then off for a space trip to ark. hope i will make it in time
Well this sucks. I came back to ark to shoot lancers. And when I get out of bed to start, everyone is at the wave camp. Glad I didnt use my 5 hour skill pill.
