Oil saga, again? It's only me or again after this VU Arkadia is full of oil again? My TM6 seems to find ONLY oil, at any depth. So does the OF-105. This is pretty annoying.
You want to talk about fun.. That sweetstuff is where its at! Its awesome to stop by the tt after each run lately to get rid of the stuff to the only place it has ANY worth. =/ Wasn't just Ark though on a sidenote. I went to caly after and had same results ^^
I go amped, with level 5 you're sort of capped ad VIII's. But now, only crap is emerging from the soil....
Try some different areas. Sweetstuff is not everywhere. The regions directly below sanc cove are just lyst and oil.
sweetstuff, oil, cave sap are pretty much everywhere. however, the placed where it shows up rarely have the best resources. coincedence? To be honest, I'd like to see a mission introduced that allows sweetstuff to be traded in, atleast until taming is back. Maybe a repeatable mission that gives a small amount of skill, or some tokens. maybe a consumable, say to special area's for mining much like keys work?
No. Just in certain places. Oil CAN be found anywhere, just like lyst, since they are "default" resources that the system gives out when you have found a claim but the resource you "should" be finding is currently being withheld due to balancing. I, too, would like to see a use for sweetstuff. I think it might be the only resource we have that has no use.
Sorry guys, which is it? Is it all over the map or only on certain servers/areas or what? I'm just trying to wrap my head around whether there is an actual issue here that I can hightlight for the A-Team or not....
basically, it's everywhere exept in areas that have good markup. atleast, for me so far. However, Neil probably has the most complete resourcemaps.
Oil is everywhere, sweetstuff almost everywhere. That is at least my findings. Fact is that everytime they play with terraforming, resources findings restart from oil. This happened in the past too. Sweetstuff should be ELIMINATED altogether, but that would be a too smart move by MA, I dont expect that to happen. I'm not sure this is a A-Team related thing, but all this oil, all around, at all depths (ranging from 200m of the OF105 to 1000+m of the TM6) is a kick in the butt for any miner. While I'm at it, PvP is FULL OF OIL AND NON-ARK ORES TOO, making it a no-no: we already have the risk to be killed (me, twice already, LOL), at least make it really worth it. I've stated hundreds of times that ore distribution on Ark is - IMVVHO - completely flawed (you mostly find things that REQUIRE YOU TO GO BACK TO CALY to sell, 37 ped to go, 12 to come back)... so this is not the first time for me.
So far my miners have only found sweetstuff in three of the nine Arkadia servers (8 coins, arctic, and celeste). These are popular mining areas, but you can't say it's "almost everywhere". I'm not saying it's impossible to find it elsewhere, but if it is it's not abundant, or it's found at depths we are not probing (not real likely). Not all of these three areas are bad MU (I won't say which are best) and remember, if sweetstuff is killing your MU, then turn off enmatters. In spite of searching each region multiple times, we have not yet found crude oil in two entire servers (which I'm surprised at, actually). However, I AM getting more oil, maybe 3x as much as before the update. Oil prices on Calypso have at the same time risen, which may mean that MA has moved some regular oil spawns to Arkadia. There is very little angelic grit now. It seems that this is Mindark's strategy to stimulate interplanetary ore trading... relocating different Universal resources (used in Calypso) to Arkadia every 6 months.
