    Increased risk for increased rewards.

Suppose you normally mine ores for 1ped per drop, then you add an amp that decays an additional 1ped per drop. Your claim sizes will average twice the size of those when dropping unamped.

Amps come in a range of decay levels so you can chose the amount risked per drop.

    Things to consider.....
Make sure you have large enough bank roll to continue dropping as many times as before. Loot averages out over time so make sure you chose a pace you can maintain even through the bad periods.

Amps cost markup to buy that will not be recovered in loot. Make sure you are mining high enough markup resources to cover the lost markup in amp purchases. The exception being if you want pure gamble, then math doesn't matter just buy the biggest amp you can use and hope you get lucky. (Just don't be bitter if you loose gambling.... It was your choice)

Good luck, and have fun :)

Whats the difference between Lvl 1 amps , and the next lvls? How does the loot return? I tried googling but to no avail.

Just look at the decay for each one per use.

    A level 1 amp decays 25pec
    A level 2 amp decays 50pec
    A level 3 amp decays 1ped
    etc....

I mostly use D-Class amps because I craft them which decay 4ped per use

Your loot return is directly related to the tt cost per drop (probes used + amp decay)
There is no way to 'cheat' the system in that regardless of what you do, your return ratio to your expenses will be the same.

    2 reasons.

    #1 gambling is fun

#2 if you find places where the math is right and the markup of resources is high, then you can make more ped per hour spent mining even after paying mu on the amps. (well thats the theory at least)

but these days u cant even say its gambling.. now its just like unamped mining where u just need to find 15%+ more in MU than what u would need unamped

The way I see it is this: (these days) dropping 1ped ore drops you get V, V, V, V etc ad infinium.

add a lvl 1 amp you get VI, VI, VI, ..
add a lvl 2 amp you get VII, VII, VII...
and so on up the chain.

Terra amp is basically a lvl 2.5, so you will see VII, VIII, VII, VII, VIII

(barring the lucky elevated claims, and the unlucky lower claims [and of course NRF])

Yeah... saw that Narfi. I was actually cheering when it happened even though i've never met you! That stuff has a decent markup, and there is *so much*!

Awesome. How long did it take to harvest...or are you still harvesting? :)

Its my very first tower, so I am pretty excited too :D
Towers can not be extracted until 24hrs have past, then you get 1pull every 24hr interval which I am told gives you 4-6k ped worth. So I will have it all up in 2-3 days. (would have loved the skills from extracting even though it would have been brain numbing afk drilling :D )
