I've spent a good amount of time and probably thousands of peds mining and hunting Arkadia. I do alright overall, with enough V sized claims to get me by; but nothing ever bigger than an XI (and only ever found one of those at that). Is this the hardest planet to global on or is it just me? Perhaps the small claims just come often enough we do not need globals/hofs to break even like we do on Calypso?
1) what gear are you using? 2) are you using LBML? 3) amping or unamped? 4) how many ped have you cycled? 5) what are your profession levels? 6) what is your hitrate (% successful drops)?
I don't think it's harder or easier to global on any planet, really. It's all dependent on the information Neil mentioned, along with timing, which is much more complicated. What you use on what planet does seem to make a difference though. It's not harder, just gotta find the right things to use and do it at the right time, I think.
the gear you use may have smething to be with it more likely, global raitio is the same in all planets there are places like foma/hell where is different and the HR is way lower so you may seem them global more but is becuase they have less finds, or can see me global mining me anywhere easyly as i use big amps atm using lvl 10s is 8,5 peds ores or 16.5 double drop, with them is easy to global/hof
1) of-105 2) No idea what you are asking 3) I always run unamped 4) I cycle about 150-200 ped or more a day; probably 3k-5k peds cycled on Arkadia so far 5) level 22 prospector, I usually just mine for ores 6) not sure here, but I break even or just barely lose often on Arkadia. I seem to find more claims than any other planet, alot of V and only 1 XI ever so far. I'd say I find a V about every 4-5 bombs. I just find it weird I do not see many globals on Arkadia compared to the active miners or have never found one myself. I am in no way complaining by the way; I seem to be doing decently without it. Just curious why they seem so rare. It seems like I do alright overall, I just seem to find only small claims. Would be nice to find something with an X in it, but it dosn't seem to happen. I find mostly V sized claims, very few II or III. I do not find this many V on any other planet so far, usually just III or so on Calypso. Perhaps the reason I am not hitting any big claims is that I am doing alright without them? Seems on calypso I can totally lose alot but then global every couple days or so. Maybe Arkadia is just better to mine on a budget and the hit rate for breaking even is better? I usually do a 40 ped run with just ore drops and i come back with atleast 25-30 sometimes even 40 or 43 peds. I have yet to have a real "profit" run though, just breaking even or just barely over/under it.
Try a different finder. I suspect that finders with higher decay global more often (though I just have anecdotal reasons for thinking so). I recommend trying a Terramaster 3 or 4. I have a couple TM 3's I can sell you. Little Big Mining Log. It's a real-time drop and claim mapping tool that is a great help when mining. It will also give you critical info like current hit rate, drop spacing, and show your undug claims with timers. You can download it from mininglog.com, and they have a new version that is almost completely automatic. Really, I'd expect to see a couple globals in that amount of ped... but it's definitely not uncommon for me to go 3k ped without any globals. The hitrate here on Arkadia (at least for me) is around 29%. That's higher than what I get on Calypso. If i'm mining an area that is only giving me 25%, I will definitely move on to another area. I'm not sure that hitrate has any impact on the chance of a global, but it definitely affects your overall return especially if you don't global. Could be... many people have said that they get less globals on arkadia... It could be psychological, it could be real... maybe people use less amps here, tend to fight smaller mobs that seem bigger than they are because of their attack rate, etc. It does sometimes seem that people who play more efficiently (higher skilled) get less globals than people who are skilling up. My disciples nearly always have better "luck" than I do when they start cycling enough peds. Also, it seems the type of mineral impacts the size of the claim, I suppose that would be due to a rarity factor in combination with the TT value of the ore. Who knows... there's a lot of mystery. Try a hunting or crafting run and see if that makes a difference.
Well I've been on Arkadia for over a year now and I've not globalled yet. However I haven't globalled in 3-4 years so it's not an Ark thing for me. I don't believe it's a turn over thing entirely but what level you're willing to play at. The higher the gamble the bigger the payoff after all.
New loot system. Modified loot. That's why it's like that. Don't worry, at least you're getting 99 % tt back
A few days after I made my post above I globaled on Jori. So now my longest period between globals is offically 3 years 10 months. For those interested it was with a TT enblade A and wearing full gremlin. And for some reason it was mostly wool from a fish
Hi David, Your stats and cycle amount are almost identical to mine. I use a 106 unamped, rarely mine on multi resource settings, and avg about 2-3 globals per month when active. The old cliche' is that Loot is dynamic, so just keep doing what you are now and odds are globals and maybe HOFs will eventually come on Ark. Good Luck!
I don't find it hard to global mining. I remember to this day, the first time I came to Ark. I went out treasure mining, and all I have was 40 ped to me card, and a 105 no amp, and hit for just under 400ped. It made my week. ^_^ but like others have said, several things come into the equation when mining, or hunting. but with mining Location is also key. I can give you a few spots where you may hit well. Just like caly, certain places hit extremely well all the time. With time and records of your mining you can make a map of where hits well and hit those area's every now and then, and make out rather well. I've since took that 400ped I made on ark, and learned where to mine on caly where I turned it into a mad profit of 1400ped, which I now spend bouncing back and forth from ark and caly hitting certain spots. every once in a while I'll push my luck on Foma. which I can say some days can be really rough. :/ but I tend to make my losses back in time. if you want maybe I can help send you out to some decent spots.
