Arkadia's current functionality of the GR Hunting division is somewhat chaotic and unrestricted. One run of Aakas 08 nets me about 20k points per run, and since there is NO time limit over 30 days of time... point totals could easily reach the millions. A bit absurd. On top of that, Vault's seem useless for GR. It takes me about 15 minutes to do the high level vaults, and I get 0-20 GR points per run. Aakas runs take me an hour and I get, as I mentioned, tens of thousands of points. That means if I spend the same amount of time in Vaults, I'll get a fraction of the points from Aakas. The main reason, I believe, is because you can temporarily loot every mob in Aakas, which generates far more looting opportunities to get GR points. Vaults offer ONE chest per run. However, I enjoy the Vault system. Who doesn't enjoy opening treasure chests? So how do we streamline the functionality of the Hunting Division? *Some sort of limitation; time or otherwise. -Time limit to total time spent in Aakas. -"Gold Rush" Chest Keys, limits number of "GR Chests" that can be opened. You get (eg) 50 GR Keys. Aakas has 3 GR Chests, Vaults have 1 GR Chest. -Create categories based on professional levels. Newbs in Aakas 1-3, Mediums in Aakas 4-7, Highs in Aakas 8-Gold. -You still have to purchase the entry keys for Aakas and Vaults. The GR Keys are used for opening GR Chests at the end of the run. After you deplete your GR Keys, you are technically finished with the competition. But you can still run Aakas as normal. *Remove shared loot, or rather remove ALL loot, from the Aakas mobs. Go back to chests. - Aakas should still have all of its chests, and Vaults still have the one chest. But add additional GR Chests for the points (1x in Vault, 3x in Aakas). *Lower the amount of points dropping in Aakas, its insane. -It makes the spread way too ridiculous. Limit the number of 5,000 pointers that drop, just as Calypso does with Robot and Halloween Mayhems. *Fix the disconnects/removal from instances. -If a player (or the "whole" team) leaves Aakas, the timer should be paused until re-entry. I do NOT like being disconnected when the server resets and losing my 200 PED Key. I've been waiting forever for support to respond and refund my Key. *Loot needs adjustment -The loot isn't too bad if you look at ammo usage and tool decay, but it never seems to factor in the cost of the Keys. It seems to me most people are reporting consistent 40-50% losses. That isn't much motivation to keep participating. I'm not asking for super loot, just adjust it with the 200 PED Keys in mind. Right now I have about 50,000 points from just 2 Aakas runs and about 10 Vault runs. However, the Vaults gave me a total of like 100 points in 10 runs. We also have to deal with avatars that have multiple players in different time zones, so these avatars are hunting 24/7. Newbs cannot conceivably participate. They will not win anything. It's merely a competition for bank rolls with unlimited time, and avatars with multiple users. This event has the potential to be the best event in the entire EU. I love running these instances, compared to Caly events. I love opening chests. I love not having to loot every single mob (normally in Aakas, except right now). I also like that its powering the economy because of the higher number of keys being purchased and arkoins being sold. Cheers, Rave
Let me start my reply by saying that I don't participate in the GoldRush. I simply do not have the PED-flow to aim for #50 (and knowing my luck I'll either get to #51 or #49). I do however have an opinion about GoldRush and would love to see it improved next year. Yeah, opening treasure chests are cool! - Doesn't have Mayhem a system based on points per hour? I think that's fair too. - If you have to open "GR Chests", then what does the time limit mean? Sorry, bit confused here, but I do like the idea of "GR Chests". - I mentioned in another thread (but I think that was misunderstood) a system with categories based on what you will spend. Budget <1k, Student-wage <2k, ..., Big spenders <50k. You choose your own category and only those who don't go above the budget-limit are qualified. Doesn't matter if you spend it on an insane amount of small Keys or just a few high Keys. The prizes also reflect the category of course. I haven't run a Key yet with the Shared Loot, but I think it will miss some of the 'feeling'. - Aakas could have a chest after every level you go through, maybe that's a good way in between all Shared Loot and one single chest? - I don't know how Mayhem works. I think the high points looted is because every mob has the potentional to give lots of GoldRush Coins, is it not? - Disconnections are a huge problems with the Key-runs unfortuatly I've heard. I can't think about a good solution at the moment. - I also understand that the Keys are not taken into the loot of the instances. If that is proven to be 100% so, then that's a huge mistake of MindArk. They told the Ark.Team that the Keys are being distributed to the loot and I hope that they are not intentionally wrong. Perhaps the GoldRush (Mining, Hunting, Auction) have all been created with the idea of the avatars with the unlimited bank rolls in mind. Others can not win, because the aim of the GoldRush was never to have them participate. Shame really, 100 players in a budget of <2k can still bring in quite a nice sum of money. In closing, Aakas was cool with the Treasure Chests. Sal'dresh is still cool with the Treasure Chests. Ardorj
Sorry for the confusion, the time limit and chest limit are not related. It would like one or the other would work. Having both wouldn't work well.
Good for you that you get 20k Golden Points in AK9. I got more than twice less than 10k points in AK10. Also like 35 PED Arkoins and 800 PED total loot. Those are really amazing returns! Guess i should hire some -> put in type of desperate people of your choise <- to waste my PED 24/7 to compete
I feel a conspiracy theory coming on. MA deliberately messing up the key cost returned in loot to have players get angry, stop playing Gold Rush and going over to Caly for Mayhem instead.
