"Fixed an issue preventing "auto clickers" in PvP" then make it PVP ONLY!

A-team please put pressure on MA to take back this STUPID change, or make it PVP ONLY.

It's impossible to hunt today because of this freaking "fix", or anyone who doubts try picking up a rifle and shoot at an Oro charging you down a hill.

And no "auto move" bs hunting is no "fix" to this problem, I could hunt perfectly well yesterday with my scoped LAW but today is just impossible as I either need to do two things.

    A. miss alot of shots due to the Oro jumping or running down the hill or up it in a not so straight line
    B. or shoot once and wait until it stands there chewing decay on armor/fap

not to mention the extra time I have to wait each kill for the mob to fall down and be still until I dare to loot it.
and why would anyone use long range weapons like the desert models when you simply can not use them anymore since today...

(probably more to come, and Oro is just an example mob)

I guess you just have to avoid using the mouse from now on. What I do is turn on "move to target" in options, use "select next target" for selecting the mob, then use a keyboard key for auto-fire and then hit they keyboard key for loot. The loot returns are already so low, it's stupid to lower them further with missed shots.

Edit: After hunting with Right click for a while, I guess it's not as bad as it sounded. Just have to click a little more carefully, I guess. Those mobs that have teeny tiny hitboxes, well, just have to use auto-move on those.

move to target is almost as bad(for many reasons which is why I wrote it's not a "fix"), and if I need to use the keyboard all the time I wont be able to hunt as then my hands will hurt too much.
I dont usually have these issues but I feel it after using the keyboard too much some days, which is why I try to limit it so I wont get injured

I aim and move manually but I did depend on right click to reduce wasted shots when a mob dies and to safely loot so thats gonna cost me until I can adapt. Also hunting low hp, high agro mobs like merp or ripper snapper now became more expensive.

Would definitely like to see this change only take effect in pvp areas or even just the hub.

It's just a matter of getting used to if you ask me, i never used rightclick in many years of playing EU.
For big mobs you can drag the healthbar and use auto-move to target, small mobs i always hunted with left-click (just wait till they are down the hill).

Automovetotarget is a shit option, especially if mobes are in each other. AutoMove can only be used on mobs that move slowly and are alone.

you do know all the crap that comes with this "move to target" bs?

loss of range, loss of speed, the need to hunt either big mobs(big hit box) or on flat land, not to mention the "cant reach target" crap, increased armor/fap decay, the serious need for a 100m+ tagger and so on...

i havn't been able to log in maybe i'm glad now. But i used move to target all the time. Yea i know it would move me up a little bit closer then i needed to but i didn't wast any shots. Not being able to just mad right click when a mob is almost dead really sucks too cause again your wasting shots instead of looting. they need a better fix for this.

I hate that we have to loot a mob period. we should just get the loot automaticaly when it's dead.

In all the years I've played EU I've always aimed and fired manually  I've never had a problem shooting infront of a mob to hit it. But I switched to purely melee in vu10 so mobs are always directly infront of me when I start to attack.

It was added due to Cyrene and the Hub. Try to explain to a hardcore pvp'er from any game other than EU that you can use a mouse button to aim and fire only when the target is in the sights and in range for you and they'll think it's a hunting bot or an exploit. Then tell them it's a feature of the system and that anyone can use it to be a perfect shot everytime and they'll probably laugh and never bother to come back. So it was removed.

Cyrene is a gaming planet, built to tempt people from their playstations and xboxs with the promise of getting paid to kill players. MA bought into it because they don't have to provide loot over and above a token for a kill.

They could probably make it work in either state but that makes overhead plus imagine it at the events MA are putting on atm in pvp areas. I'm wondering if some of the pvp incidents at the hydra had been caused by people just hitting the right mouse button continuously.

and who said anything about not good for pvp and where is your proof it was because of Cyrene? (found it, look Edit)

And people coming from all those other games don't pay real $$ for every shot they use, or do they?
Good for you that you got no problem hitting the mobs that jump and run around, but not everyone is as perfect. Sure I usually didn't miss many times, but now I cant use the full range of my weapon as I'm afraid of missing too much and then whats the use to have long range weapons?

Melee I use on larger(and tiny) mobs 99% of the time now so ofc there is not the same issue with melee as much as ranged, except that you still hit the dead mob when trying to loot it causing decay...

Edit: looked it up myself now Larking when i knew where to look. (still hunter issue unresolved by this)

"In the Hub & Arenas, the right mouse button shooting only when you have target has been disabled, removing the auto clicker advantage."

The proof would be that the Cyrene devs said it would be removed for the Hub (I'm not searching for the quote, it's been posted by their community manager on a forum or two). It's not good for PVP as it's just a battle of who can spam their right mouse button the most. Then there is the issue of those trying to use autoclickers for PVP to get an unfair advantage.

What I didn't expect was that it was being implemented for all of Entropia.

I have to admit I didn't even know about this feature myself. I was wondering why others where able to hit me almost every shot where I was never able to hit them more then once or twice.. Or do I just suck??

Please keep PvP issue out of the question that's not what this thread is about* and we all see the good for PVP but NOT hunting so make it PVP ONLY

*there is no PvP areas(ring excl ofc) on Ark so that issue isn't relevant on this forum, and I agree pvp its good but it fucks up hunting for alot of people

Odd about the quality of decisions on fixes from MA lately. Who is I wonder that comes up with this stuff? Not sure I get the reason for this obsurd change. So some wanna be is using an autoclicker in pvp. Not sure the rest of us should be made to suffer a huge nerf like this to stop one or two people from being idiots.

The Nerf is there because it's not about one or two people, but the survival of the new planet that is heavily based on luring people in with competitive PvP.
The fact that neither Cyrene nor MA did realize the problem before is a bit spooky, but I definitely ain't surprised that they acted hastily and made a change that annoys almost all the hunting population, ie most of their active players.

I never used right click myself for hunting, and I don't play pvp generally, but from reading around I can see this is causing a lot of upset for both groups for different reasons. Sorry it has affected the hunters style of play who used that, so yes, it's good to hopefully raise the concern to MA about why they seem to have an issue implementing changes for (apparently) one planet or area that ends up being universe wide, like the recent spawn 'adjustments'. This right click one though appears to be a change to a core system, and to me personally I agree with Manny, that not seeing that in advance and having to slap it on the whole universe out of the blue is a bit 'spooky' but whatever.

For what it's worth, there is no 'MindArk support' portal really, only for each planet now, and since this is definately a platform issue, I'd suggest anyone who is unhappy about the change head over and mention that on the only place MA has an officail 'ask MindArk' section, and thats Entropia Forum. We can get it off our chest here of course, and Dave and crew can see it and mention it maybe to MA, but still, no harm in posting the concerns in the place that MindArk itself wants us to?

The really funny thing is this is actually how then Project Entropia worked long time ago before Cryengine. So to me it's not a big deal. we just got spoiled that last few years of having it. What i'd like is if you had a scope equiped it would tell you the distance on a mob like it does when your in team. Sometimes i like teaming up just so i can set target and see the distance and use that for firing.

back in the day we used to just use the radars circles to judge distance but now it's a little wak because you can zoom it.

I dont care about the auto aiming of right click being taken away just make mobs fun to hunt and make it so that you can use something to judge distance.
