I think that the Arkadia Facebook page could do with a little more traffic and so would think it would be really cool if we could get the Planet Arkadia Facebook page up to 10k likes - this would then be double the likes that Entropia Universe has had for the 5k skill buff ( And then I promise I wont Mention Facebook on the Forum Again ) . We are all aware that as Arkadians and members of the IFN it is our duty to rally troops and support so that we can get our wonderful planet right on up there and I see this as a nice way to promote our planet. We have a really cool community and there must be people on Arkadia that video / stream there gaiming sessions My idea is to have 2 competitions run in parallel on the facebook page. ( its actually 1 competition though ) and this would be for IFN Colonists to create a Video Advert for Arkadia If your not able to video then a poster advert. The advert would have to be uploaded / entered on to the Planet Arkadia Facebook page or the Facebook page tagged. The Facebook community would then be able to like the advert and this will decide the competition winners. The video / poster with the most like's wins a prize with prizes for the top 3 videos or Poster Image . The Prizes 1st Gold Starter Pack 2nd Silver starter Pack 3rd Bronze Starter pack as an idea Also then have an additional prize of 5 Bronze starter packs for the people that have liked the video / poster that have voted across the entries so this could then be open to new customers as well and might be a way of getting new people to join and also getting the arkadia facebook page shared amongst a wider untapped potential community. What do you think ? could we make this happen ? Let me know your thoughts / suggestions / refinements Sorry If you think I am Facebook mad but just thinking of ways to draw people in to arkadia and enjoy the planet as much as me and once we hit 10k likes I wont mention it again

And please don't take this post the wrong way, but: Somehow, 5k likes for a multi million Dollar, decade old company, doesn't seem like such an extraordinary achievement to me. Especially for a gaming company, with a high involvement from the customers. (Even diaper companies that have no community or an online product, manage to get millions of likes.) Since the FB page, CL and the site don't show the update/event yet: I'm guessing the fine-tuning of syncs between the various sites is still in progress. And going by the new SmugglersHQ Youtube channel, this is all being worked on. Additionally, with the MA announced move to smartphones, social media will probably start to play a more important role in EU, in the future. So a FB likes campaign might have more of a chance to succeed at a later date? View attachment 9736 Even though I'm personally not waiting/hoping for more social media integration in EU: having an up-to-date FB/CL/site/YT could indeed be very helpful, in spreading Arkadia around the net. It seems to me, that having current content on those sites, is of way more importance than a number of 'likes'. Ofc, the 'like' system is a smart one: people seem to enjoy the power of saying 'yea' or 'nay' to pretty much anything. But when I see the endless "please like us" and "please click the subscribe button"; it starts to feel like begging to me. Oh well, that's my old fashioned opinion as a private person. As much as I like people with new ideas, I also like the idea that I don't have and will not have fb. Why? One of the reasons: people snooping around I'd rather participate on something like logo contest, what about a lift on that screenshot contest?
5000 likes isn't that much when you compare it to a grumpy cat that has gotten nearly 1.5 million. One of the issues that was brought up a few years ago is that many don't want to admit that they play EU. A few years ago and we were quite willing to tell everyone but not anymore.
I would love to blow the dust off my Sony Vegas Pro, but I have already won a starter pack on the Calypso Argonaut Event. So I will refrain from joining for the sake of others.
